car lost power in the middle of the road

i have noticed that i had problems with acceleration and shift of the car which is for a week now

the pbroblem is that when it finally quits accelerating and does catch up the speed as if it has lost all its power

so i had to pull over take the cables from the battery join them together and put the cables back on the battery. so it then works.

would anybody knw what caused this or was is some part of the car that needs to be replaced to rectify the issue also how much will it cost to replace it or can I replace it myself?

Looks some electrical or computer problem. better get proper diagnose first and then DIY.

it could be govenor sensor, immobilser freaking, ABS or TC sensor gone bad.
