khandelwal
Hello, i have a 2011 kia sportage and i am not a satisfied customer for the kia people. I am desperately looking out to getting a good price to sell my car and move on to a good one. For the past year I have literally been feeding the car oil and keeping up with its maintenance. I know kias are not all that but the sportage was perceived to be a solid car. and its not like i have not taken car of the car, i have done what every user of a sportage does. i made regular service visits and ensured that i dont drive too harsh. Driving on the roads of UAE is not all that harmful for cars too. The biggest problem I have had with it is the fuel economy. I would like to take this platform as a chance to share my views on the car and communicate my dissatisfaction.
khandelwal
That is very sad to hear harold you must have had bad luck with the car. I have owned a sportage and it didn't do any harm to me at all. i know people who have driven other cars really dont like kias but sportage was an okay SUV. khandelwal
You are like one out of ten people to say that. The sportage was known for its performance and if i remember correctly the 2011 sportage had full ratings across the board on review websites in terms of performance. khandelwal
i second Harold My sportage's 2.0 lt turbocharged engine failed after 15000 km. We had to get it replaced. After that it was all downhill for the car and for us. You have got two people on this forum heavily coomplaining about the sportage and some people here think its highly unlikely! khandelwal
When i was n the market looking out for a sportage, many people suggested that sportages were good to leave you stranded on the road but as far as the fuel economy is concerned everyone seemed to be convinced that the sportage is very good in terms of the fuel economy - no complaints there. plus the SUV was updated over time in terms of technology and its comfort options. khandelwal
i have been a long time owner of a sportage, i now own the 2013 model and love its interior compatibility. i let my wife drive it around all the time. No stranded stories from my side. Some people might have just been unlucky with the car and that happens even with the big brands.
khandelwal
One of my friends own a sportage and he says that after a period of time, the ride hasn't remained as smooth as it used to be. overall he is still willing to give good ratings to the car. khandelwal
I bought my sportage and thought that the fuel economy was not as efficient, then i came across a kia expert and got some useful tips to achieve good fuel mileage. Fuel economy depends on a lot of factors and it is a very subjective topic, every person might have differing views about it.
khandelwal
What kind of tips did you get from that expert of yours? please do care to share and spread the love
khandelwal
Sure! nothing different from the usual maintenance tips but they proved to be really helpful for me since i never tried them out before. For example, the first thing was regular tune-ups and oil changes. I just had to keep the engine "healthy". A good running engine improves the fuel economy drastically. Secondly, i always replaced my worn out tires, the pressure from the worn out tires is a lot on cars and eventually effect the fuel economy. Rotate them on a regular basis whenever required so that the friction is reduced between the vehicle and the road. This gives you good fuel economy.
