Even if you remove the battery wire after starting the car it wont stop and you can drive the car forever without switching off. Guy who sold you the battery may be made fool out of you. Im sorry. And dont listen to same guy anymore may be next he will ask you to repair the alternator for more voltage reading. Its all BS crap. Instead im more than likely that your any of spark plug must have gone bad and need change. If not check air filter is clean or need a change. Check the ignition coil is healthy and delivering enough spark. Check the fuel filter isn't choked and fuel pump is sending fuel at enough pressure. check above said things in same order and you will solve your problem faster.
