  1. Today morning my car took three attempt to start and I think battery is dying now. Do you guys have any recommendation for specific brand of car battery in UAE. I checked with few guys in my office and all of them mentioned different brands: AC Delco, Solite, Amaron, Trane, Incoe.

  2. Had this S Class in for a while but I was so busy with my Pajero farm I hadn't time to look at it properly until now. Brake lights were permanently on and gearbox was stuck in P. On most cars, there is a shift lock release but unfortunately not on this car so it's not like it could be released and driven as a quick fix. A lot of the time on these cars, it's caused by a faulty brake light switch so I pulled it out and checked it and it tested fine so I had to dig a bit further. Plugged the computer in and got a number of faults, one being that communication had been lost with the rear SAM (signal acquisition module, or a computer thing to most people). Due to the age and condition of the car, it wasn't worth replacing so I made with some fancy rewiring and bypassed some things and now it's better than it was before it left the factory. This car is a jap import that had been converted to LHD so there's some really bad wiring in it to begin with.

  3. This reminds me of half cut P38 Range Rover that one of the big guy modded here in 90's for hunting here in UAE. Seen that couple of times in shabby condition on road few times lately. So that guy must be real inspiration for LR topless ideas

  4. Yes, it would be nice to have one good reliable company that gives you peace of mind and takes care of their paying customer whatever the time, place or situation.

  5. I think more importantly you need to decide whether SUV or sedan as a next step to really be fair with your comparison and search resukts. And then decide one below each category to get proper results and dont get fooled by comparing wrong league. Majority of time people do wrong league comparison or persuade by others to trick them (esp sales advisers). 6. I totally agree with Rahim bhai on this one, as I had Range Rover Autobiography for two years and even changed all oil gaskets (original) by spending close to 3k and six months later seen the spotting again in my parking spot. Like few LR fans says, LR doesn't leak it just mark it's territory.

  9. Great mind think alike, I swear I was about to write AAA name and @Rahimdad did that already. If you don't mind spending little extra for peace of mind, AAA is best and almost close to AA standards in US and UK.

  10. Well I can even stretch that to 7 generation by investing that money in right lines unlike this showbiz.

  11. If only I had 33 Million, my generations would be fed well without having to work ever.

  12. Hahahahaha, Good one. I guess everything has a time. the idea is there and being built upon, I am sure they will find solutions to the on going problems. I love technology, but to a limit, I would like to drive my own car at this time, maybe when I am older I might want technology to be ready to drive me around safely.

  13. The real problem with this silly statement is that in aircraft, autopilot systems actually work. One would have expected more from a man that designed a rocket that can land upright on a ship after delivering a satellite to space.

  14. Toyota Camry, Nissan Altima, Honda Accord should stack up just fine in and around that range. If you need SUV, then Outlander, Fortuner, Xterra should be in ballpark range.

  15. Shizzles. I have to keep myself awake if I am driving on a straight and half empty road, I can't imagine if I am on auto pilot, I might wake up on the other side. For now I will keep my driving purely manual, or else where is the joy of driving. Auto pilot must be good for some people, but it is only technology and people need to pay attention to the road even if there is an auto drive function in their vehicle. The horror story last year about a Toyota Land Cruiser being stuck in Cruise Control at 140 KPH gives me the shivers. Cruise Control being around now for ages gives me less confidence in this auto pilot and being old fashioned I would prefer to keep my limbs where they are supposed to be, hands on the steering wheel, foot on accelerator and brake, eyes on the road.

  17. AC Delco is ok ok, not very good. Had a good experience with solite twice and they last 2-3 years without any problem.
