Yes everyone is doing well, thank god. Mohammed got the cops paper and it will be sorted soon with insurance. Does anyone spotted big dip or bush at 0.07 sec that bounced the car heavily....? Watch in full screen. Also intention to steer left than climbing up as desertdude rightly mentioned would have saved it completely. FJC in stock state is very tipsy, added with 3-4 inch lift is a recipe for disaster. We have mentioned and pointed same last week at Qudra exit and we never knew this could prove fatal so fast. Sad. However, such incident always remind all of us that every sport has some associate risk and soon we acknowledge, embrace and learn to stay clear from such risk, better it is for everyone.

1) FJ cruiser. Had one in Saudi, but was a 4x2 unfortunately. Only negative is visibility is limited. Fantastic engine / performance. 2) Xterra: reasonably priced, not too over complicated, and performs super. The bigger brother Pathfinder is similar but more spacious. 3) XJ: would love to have one in the future. Built to last, not so very hard to find. Iconic looks. 4) Pajero 3.8 SWB. Not too expensive, but avoid the upshift issue model years.

Jeep is a Jeep sirjee. My favourite will be as follows: Toyota Prado V6 pre 2010 model. Nissan X terra 2010 onwards Nissan Pathfinder 2005 - 2007 3.5 litre.

Due to some unforeseen situation, I won't be joining the drive tomorrow. @Rahimdad will lead the convoy and also welcome @Jamy B. to ride along.

Nice detail reply @Jas Gajaria I just cant help about LC70 since I drove once and felt in love immediately, but that was long ago and that's the first 4x4 in my wishlist. Some day. Nissan Patrol (SWB) 2006-2012 is utter useless with bad gearing issue, after 2012 onward mated with 4.8 VTC is great. Jeep.....No comments.

I am going to keep my list to only Automatics, as it's what is used by most off-roaders here. Although I agree that a manual is the ultimate machine. I have given an overall rating keeping in mind Fuel Consumtion, Power, Customization Potential and Drivability/Reliability. My List: FJ Cruiser - 2010 Onwards with Dual VVTI - 8.5/10 Nissan Patrol - SWB and with the 4.8L VTC 8/10 Jeep JK or JL (SWB) - 2012 Onwards (3.6L Engine) (Only if w Warranty) - 7.5/10 Reasoning Behind each. FJ - Its a Short Wheel Base Toyota, Period. It is known as the Japanese Jeeps because there is every possible off-road upgrade made for this car. Fuel Economy is comparatively good, and has the option of 2 tanks giving 120-130L of fuel. 270HP and 390 NM of torque is more than sufficient to perform. Although you lack in the interior and visibility, you can't have everything. Patrol - The Ultimate ShababMobile, street credit and off-road capability is there in this, although parts are expensive and you're gonna pay like crazy for fuel, there's a reason it is only sold in this market till date. 250HP and 420 Nm of torque will see you flying! Being a solid axle vehicle you loose some ride comfort, but it makes up for that with its amazing levels of wheel travel needed during off-road. Jeeps - The 3.6L is an efficient engine and gives good economy, its a jeep so it'll do almost anything. Has a 300HP engine with Torque around 380NM which is again plenty. Extremely light with the soft top option so you can glide . I agree reliability can be an issue by Trading Ent. has good service as long as the car is under warranty and will replace anything and everything if need be.

So all three statements basically mean you love driving fast and bicycles are a nuisance for you ?

If u ask me , I would say - unusual sounds coming from your car, sometimes rattling sounds from inside of your dashboard. - cars with saudi plates ( in front of u , they always seems to be lost , and difficult to say what move they will make next) -when signal lights start blinking green towards yellow ( when you are in speeding into a junction and somewhat in doubt whether u can make it or not.

1- Scared of hidden cameras, when ur in ur joyes mode and a flash light breaks ur happiness 2- Cycling heros on the street , who don't bother to look back wats coming to hit them 3 - Meeting a Snail paced driver on first lane and he refuses to move when i m getting late for work

List 3-4 (only) all round 4x4 you think is the best for UAE offroad needs for sand (Desert) + Mountain. It should be based on your usage, research or seeing with your friends and family and not based on commercials or witnessing on Faya or Bidayer when you don't know if its 100% stock or highly modified. For me it has to be getting hit from behind. You get stuck in a phantom traffic jam, put your hazard lights on. When you look in the rear view mirror you see someone closing up fast behind and think shit shit shit I hope this guy is going to see me and stop in time. Getting hit from behind has to be one of the worst things ever. Your whole day gets ruined because someone else wasn’t paying attention to the road then you lose so much time trying to get your car repaired when it wasn’t even your fault.

hi all, sorry but i will have to cancel my participation from this drive as a last minute change has come up and my kid needs to be with me, so since i will have to bring him along for the drive, i will join the newbie drive

Excitement got the better of him! Know your car, jeeps are very light and have virtually no weight at the back, which will cause it to nose dive in jumps. Same goes for most SWB vehicles. Understand the weight dynamics of your car! As far as driver error, he either lost his brakes or didn’t slow down while coming down, even if you don’t want to use your brakes to preserve them you can put the car in a low gear so that the car engine brakes and gives you control of the car going downhill!

Hey Guys, new to the group but not new to off-roading. Been going for the last 5 years, mostly with DO and joining my buddy Mert for this spin and check-out this cool looking group. A new season, a 'new' second-hand Jeep Wrangler so a quiet run to test out the car will be great. Looking forward to it!

I agree with this, especially when you’re heading back from Badayer shops after a drive and on the way back from the U - Turn everyone’s crossing on a 120 road. @Gaurav the flashes are another thing but after the days of me doing stupid things when I first got my license I just set the cruise to 109-110 and relax while driving. You save yourself 600 dhs and you can actually enjoy driving without being stressed. The best is Jumeirah road on fridays, just set the cruise to 50-60 and enjoy your Karak from Koukh 😁

I'm way over those scare days when a reckless driver would be swerving around lanes or people who overtake me from the right or the big overloaded heavy trucks trying to get there yesterday. But my heart still skips a beat when I see pedestrians crossing the road or the bike guy trying to avoid idiots on the road. If a car gets banged its just an object which can be repaired or replaced, but life and limbs are priceless.

I am joking. They are way better than Turkish police also. I only stopped by police once. I was using my cell phone and he nicely warned me and let me go. I dont even have any fine this year. I dont have a super car to be afraid of police. If i had a Hellcat or something maybe than i would be afraid to get caught on high speed driving.

Children in traffic, all forms, not fastened in a car, on a bicycle, playing near a school. It is not the child I am scared of, but the lack of education.

I used to be scared of police before. In my country they will pull you out of the car and beat you up for fun. I can show you the broken fingers to testify. In UAE I have always found the police to be decent and helpful and willing to listen to both sides of the argument. If you’re not doing anything illegal there’s nothing to worry about.
