Not accurate and a pain to regulate them. With a stem removal tool and a watch on your wrist to count the seconds you’ll be deflated in less than two mins.5 points

Hi @Lisa Pemberton, Great stuff driving Pajero! To add onto the above mentions which are very good I found that the inlet of the air intake has a water drain which in the uae case also gets blocked with sand. And the easy removal is taking the rubber bottom off and rinsing it with a garden hose to take out all the sand (see the picture)5 points
-
What @Frederic was referring is that, you can remove the stem from your tyre vaulve to let the air out and you can keep a count as a reference to stop the leak by fixing your stem back on the valve to get your desired tyre pressure. This is a method used by many offroader's. Though I personally use autoplus tyre deflator which is not as fast as the stem removal tool but saves the pain when you need to search around when your stem flies off. It's like you use the technique which suits you better.4 points

I will vote for the one who is giving 5 years warranty in writting on the receipt and not in talks, box, stickers or instagram. TJM and Bushranger both are good off-road brand. Not sure about Ironman, looks bit shady with epoxy stickers.4 points

@Shiju Manuel Mitsubishi dont make engine oil, but in UAE Habtoor motors put Mitsubishi label on LUKOIL. I tried and its the most shittiest oil for off-roading for my Pajero. Maybe newer gen4 , dont mind that sub standard quality. My highest recommendation to any offroader is to use Mobil 1 once and see the difference in engine noise, engine cooling and off-road performance. @Mels Wolf putting water in air filter dry box is not very ideal (I think). Instead that box has 2 or 3 bolts, remove it and give gentle dab upside down. @Lisa Pemberton great post and so far great input from other experts and owners alike. Please check these two post as well4 points

Never put in a bigger fuse. The existing fuse is calculated to protect the compressor wiring from burning up. It never hurts to have a spare compressor. I used to carry always two compressors with me just in case.4 points
-
The first thing that fails are the on/off switches as these are mostly underrated to take the massive currents. These switches can be found for 10 dhs online or in Deira electronic shops. Secondly check the wiring, as it’s soldered inside and due to the heat the soldering gets loose. If you have nothing to lose open up the compressor’s electric box and have a look. With a simple multimeter you’ll be able to check the switch, or just bypass it once to see if it’s the culprit.4 points

So I'm 4 drives into this new hobby of off-roading. Loving it so far! Looking for advice from the seasoned owners and drivers here. What should I be doing regularly to care for my Pajero and ensure she keeps running smoothy and avoid any rookie errors which may result in expensive mistakes. Beyond regular servicing, oil changes and fluid top ups my level of expertise is pretty low and consists of YouTube videos and manual reading. I've been reading about the rear bumper/scoop issue so will look into having a workshop fix this. Ideally, if there were such a thing, I'd love to do some kind of maintenance workshop to learn how to do minor upkeep or modifications myself and avoid the "Very White Lady Tax" I get charged every time I go to a garage 😕3 points

If the copper is not damaged you’ll be fine, but put some electrical tape around them. If they touch the chassis of the car you’d have a short circuit3 points

This will be EID vacation home work. LOL. If this is a success then I will regret for buying the new compressor. 😭3 points

Hi @Lisa Pemberton am not an experts but below are the few things i have done. 1. Rear bumper scooping need to be sorted out in newbie drive itself by fixing a plate to stop scooping the sand. there is a topic available for this solution and advice in Carnity forum. 2. Cleaning the air filter will be better after each drive, because lots of sand will go inside. 3. If you are unplugging the traction and abs switch under the hood for the drive, then when you take the car for service inform the people to blow some air and clean the pug inside the switch, because some sand always will be there inside. 4. Better to trim the lower part of front bumper, because in Pajero if the front bumper hit on the sand, the lower part will bend inside and every time we need pull it back other wise it will touch on the tire. 5. Always checking Coolant, engine oil, transmission oil before the drive. i believe other experts and leaders in Carnity can give you more inputs thank you.3 points

It is a good price for TJM compressor and long warranty period...will definitely allow for good resale if you have 5 years warranty.2 points

You are doing very good so far and don't distort your mind with another car or any expensive modification, yet. Drive for at least 5 newbies drive and if we feel you have learned enough on how to handle your duster (from safety aspect), we might promote you to fewbie level too. Once you are at fewbie level, then you can decide to continue with duster or replace/upgrade, if you really push to aim for higher levels of offroad drives.2 points

The easiest thing to check is a fuse on the wire which normally melts with the heat while operating. Clean up fuse space and put in a bigger fuse and it should be good to go.2 points

Proud of you Dr @Chaitanya D. You have stuck to the Nissan family and proved with the right driver and attitude behind the wheel all Nissan's are capable off-roaders. Keep riding the high dunes and congratulations on your well deserved promotion.2 points

Thank you guys! I am really looking forward to join new exciting drives as soon as I will be back from Europe... for a little while, waves will replace dunes as I will be sailing in the Med, but I am already missing the sand (not the heat though)!2 points

Congrats @Melenany, driving that F-150 isn’t always easy with trip leads wanting to cross straight but you’ve shown it can easily been done with a long wheel base! Looking forward to seeing you on the other trips!2 points

Hi @RohanH, Check my earlier post on the Gen 4 Pajero summer mods which for some reason I cannot find anymore ?? @Gaurav I have the following setup which till now works without any issues; - extra fan for the a/t cooler connected to the stock condensor fan so when you use the ac the condensor is also on - extra condensor fan inbetween the a/t oil cooler and condensor next to the stock condensor fan with a button on the dash to turn it on (this also helps when you get the car out of a hot garage to help the ac cool or down quicker) All fans added with metal brackets as per attached pictures (one with the loose fans for placement one with them all fixed)2 points

Radiator flush is a huge waste of time andd money. In personal experience flushing and opening it and getting it rodded has done fuck all good. If overheating in slow moving traffic or idling then you fan clutch is on the way out. A clogged radiator will overheat under engine load not at idle or slow moving traffic.2 points

It was definitely the most challenging drive for me and that is why good for learning. Special thanks to leads @Wrangeld @Rahimdad @Janarthan @Lorenzo Candelpergher for their extreme efforts for any types of recoveries which took longer time than driving under the desert sun! Now it is clear to me that smaller dunes like in al lisali and solar park are a sign of soft sand as we all experienced... Similarly, the big dunes are due to relatively hard ground maybe... @Rahimdad your other drink is ready whenever you are ready! it was our bet to move my pajero more than 1 mm and you won already! I am the man of my word 😄 @asifk I did not know that was your first recovery! It was really a smart solution you found: accelerating the cars standing side by side to tow out!... it is a pity that we didn't record it! That was a good lesson learned from my worst stuck ever. My special thanks to @Wrangeld @Janarthan @marks for their help in such a tormenting recovery (also to all others for their long time waiting...) See you all on the next drive!2 points
