  1. After continuous working for whole life, retiring all of sudden to a halt is a bad idea. Someone told me this long ago, when we were forcing my dad to retire at 60. In his first year of retirement, we have realized that it wasn't the best idea.

Now my definition of retirement is to finish off my critical responsibilities responsibly and then do or rest whatever I wish to do at that age as per my future financial condition at that age.

Going to be pretty hard to get a figure that’s anywhere near accurate. I’ve got stuff stashed away that’s working but not registered and there will be millions of other people in the same situation.

    Very true.

Even if we get the registered one, that's more than enough for fun. And that's what it counts close to 1.2 billion.

  3. Smart question @Mball and in this time of COVID, lot of people have free time to appreciate extra income or skill.

Free tip: You can also shape up your course targeting car buyers as anyone who is in market for buying a car for couple of thousand, wont mind couple of bucks for real helpful knowledge.

Now coming back to your course, there is always takers for everything in this world from Udemy 10-20 USD course or fake course to 100-150 USD masterclass level or 1000+ coursera level. You pick a bet whatever you are comfortable with in terms of time and resources and then price it well.

If you know "how to sell it" and "who to sell it" - then go ahead. If you don't know then don't waste your time in a noisy and highly saturated market with tons of scammers and fake course provider.

@sertac money from youtube is long gone and it was only good if you intend to stay in game for 1-2-5-10 years in same youtube channel. As 99% youtube channel owners abandon the efforts in first year after seeing couple of cents a month return.

  4. It is completely your call and choice considering your financial position and job/business stability, whatever you are into.

Anyways you can't buy any car atm as RTA is not registering any new transaction. So you have to wait until COVID cloud clears up.

From offroading point Prado is very good balance of both the world but you can only enjoy Prado (safely) until newbie and fewbie level. Beyond that you need to consider some moderate bumper modification.

Usually we always advise every new offroader to try offroading for first few drives and then decide any new modifications or change of vehicle.

If you are not 100% sure of your financial position then I will highly advise you to wait until you are completely sure, because you are buying on EMI and not full cash which means EMI require future consistent flow of money.

If you are good with financial position, I advise to go ahead with this Prado as you are getting a good deal and secondly your heart is set on Prado. Third it is good for newbie-fewbie level so you can test if offroading can be your new hobby or not. If sand bug bites you then you can knock off your Accord after few months and buy Xterra for offroad and keep Prado as a daily driver.

You simply cannot go wrong with Prado, because it has insane resale value and if you drive it well you can always resale it next year by dashing 5-8k (max). Also during this COVID period you might be getting better deals as people are unsure of future and selling cars for less, so for a new buyer this is another good buying opportunity.

Buying a dedicated offroader (weekend warrior) I wouldn't advise Pajero but you are 100% better off with Xterra, FJ Cruiser, Wrangler, Patrol (Y61).

Xterra standard and offroad are not very different and both are equally capable, just that offroad version has firm shocks, body protection and diff lock which is a blessing for offroading. So while in market to buy a dedicated offroader, your first preference should be an offroad version, if you cannot or if you dont wanna spend little extra then standard is also fine. The negligible price difference between offroad and standard definitely favors offroad version considering those 3 benefits vs cost.

  5. Very difficult to say based on video reviews as mostly are sponsored content (paid reviews) and they will leave you more confuse than giving one sided answer.

What I see - from a distance - it's a cute little 4x4 for on-road and mild off-roading for newbie and fewbie level drive and nothing beyond that unless modified. Fewbie level only in winters too and not in summer as he was driving in LO gear due to 30 kmph limitation in HI gear.

Driving for 15-20 minutes in LO gear at 40 degree for a test drive vehicle is very different than driving it for 4-5 hour span.

I think we recently had similar Jimny in one of newbie convoy, I think @Frederic has that in his convoy. Am I right?

  6. 75K for V6, 2015 model Prado seems a very good price. It seems that owner has already discounted 10-15K being high mileage vehicle.

Make sure to get it checked properly as Tasjeel comprehensive check is not always the best option. Taking to another mechanic or workshop of your choice is highly advisable to lift the vehicle and check underbody, engine bay, computer check thoroughly.

Also ask owner to arrange the service record as many companies doesn't honor request from new buyer due to privacy clause. But they are BOUND to provide service details to owner whose name is showing on the registration card.

  7. Welcome aboard. Prado is indeed very good choice to have the best of both world. 2015 and 150k seems quite a high mileage for 4 years old, hope you price it accordingly as in cars mileage is more important than years. If its genuinely maintained on time on every service then it should be fine. JUST MAKE SURE TO CHECK SERVICE INTERVAL CAREFULLY. Be it Al futtaim or Dynatrade is fine as far as service has been done on time and not exceeding the service interval.

I am emphasizing on this as many high mileage vehicle doesn't follow service interval properly and while selling they show the service stamp without km and date reading. So make sure you get the full breakdown of kms and date of every service.
