@Benjamin thanks, I think I'll write about bigger tires effects next time, seems that's a popular mod 😁
Def, we need it.
Next, sky-high lifts.
Next, the hardest suspensions.
Next, strapping turbo with nitro-methanol injections.

what are the requirements to become a Carnity instructor in terms of driving experience and teaching experience?

I hope if that happens, many ppl will save their car, money and hassle.

@Bjoern you should give a try to 4H Auto in a more relaxed level drive and you will love it too.
I only shift to HLC (Same as Part-time) on high-level drive during tricky terrain. The whole Liwa crossing I did on 4H Auto and used HLC for 10% area closer to the Saudi border, where I constantly needed to climb and steer left and right.
Oftentimes what we read and get in the sand is two different worlds. For a normal sand track going through the dunes 4H Auto is intelligent enough to power front for few seconds when speed drops, and then favor the rear rest of the time while vehicle speeds up.

The Xterra has a weak front diff.
Before that, you will damage the transfer case as LO gear in most 4X4 is meant for "Low" speeds under 40 kmph. It's an age-old scam or myth in the UAE off-road scene.
Check your owner's manual for specific speed limits for LO gear before attempting again.

If Part time uses 4x4 all the time, surely there are no disadvantages to doing that
Surely there are few:
- Cornering will not be as agile as the front and rear have the same power split.
- The car will be sluggish at high speeds above 40-50 kmph, as when you go above 40, Auto favors 70-80% power to the rear and 20% to the front to make driving effortless.
- Higher fuel consumption (slightly).
Go to empty sandy terrain, try both, and see for yourself rather than getting confused.

4H Auto is capable of doing almost everything you want most of the time. To put in numbers you can practically drive your Wrangler in 4H Auto up to 90-95% of the time. You only need 4H Part-time (which means full-time, as Ben mentioned) in tricky terrain, where onboard computers fail (very rare) to do the required power split among the front and rear wheels, so you shift to part-time to have 50:50 power split to negotiate tricky terrains - like soft sand, a tricky slow and fast climb which require split-second change of power.
We have many leads in Carnity driving and leading drives in 4H Auto, and only switch to part-time when needed.
4H Part time should be used as a trump card, similar to 4Lo so that you have something to fall back on when you need it.
Most clubs even advise ppl to drive in LO gear for various reasons:
- Too lazy to get newbies stuck and recover and teach the right features, instead tell them to put on LO gear and let them blast all the way to glory.
- Backed by the garage, so the sooner you break the car in LO gear, the better it is for their business.
In an ideal world of off-roading you and all other 4x4s should use a car based on the below order in sand:
- 4H Auto + D
- 4H Auto + tiptronic (manual selection of 1st or 2nd gear)
- 4H Part time + tiptronic (manual selection of 1st or 2nd gear)
- 4Lo + tiptronic (only for self-recovery and recovering others)
This way you will learn your car and car will learn your driving style and also you have options to switch when you enter serious terrain or get stuck so you have room to shift to LO gear.

DRIVE PLAN
PLEASE READ IT FULLY, BEFORE RSVP.
After last week's amazing IM exploration through Razeen, I wish to explore this vast area from the other side, with Fewbie Plus.
This will be an exploration drive through Razeen desert with an aim to find, mark and connect good, bad and wow areas for future drives.
Being an exploration drive, it can be 6K RPM all the time, it can be technical, it can be scenic, it can be fast or dead slow - or mix of all. So be ready for anything, but be sure it's going to be very exciting.
The bottom line, this is not going to be a regular off-road drive, so please join the drive with an open mind and flexible approach.

@Ishakas we spoke on the drive, i was very worried about you yesterday, as i saw your Pajero fishtailing and fighting gravity in many areas. Hence i asked you to check in which gear you were driving (we have seen 4HLC can sometimes help in getting a better power ratio vs the regular 4H). I would not advise you to keep driving in 4L otherwise your transmission will be giving up very soon. The Pajero is a heavy car and you will need to learn to find clean lines with good momentum while now you were forcing your way onto most of the dunes and ridges, which not just looks scary, but you have seen yesterday how the desert can be unforgiving. I highly recommend you to join 5-10 Fewbie level drives and adjust your way of off-roading before doing higher level drives. I was seriously concerned about your safety yesterday and hope you understand.
Nice observation and comments Fredy. Desert is indeed unforgiving sometimes.
@Ishak another way to learn is by seeing other LWB Pajero on how they handle and how they improvise on lines (most imp), so you have faith that yes your Pajero can also do it, just with tiny adjustment and not with brute force and fishtailing.
If you have a chance, try to join @Salim Akhtar and see how impeccably and safely he drives his LWB Pajero and still makes it to the top without any refusals/stuck.

Thank you, everyone, for joining this amazing exploration drive and making it super successful with such a strong convoy of level-headed and sensible yet capable drivers (most imp).
Truly, Razeen exceeded my expectations in terms of beauty, vastness, challenges and landscape with it's deceiving dune formation and breathtaking view. At Razeen, we found a good mix of many different terrains of Abu Dhabi in one place:
- Big dunes and bowls of Al Qua and Wagan
- Tricky and unexpected dune formations like Bu-Tais
- Super soft sand and technical dunes like Liwa and TOC.
As we have barely explored a quarter of the planned area, surely we need to explore more with good entry and exit points to avoid long gatch tracks and add new areas for our regular drives.
@Looper big thanks for taking some amazing pictures of everyone with such an epic landscape, and for giving us a good memory to remember for a lifetime. I saved a few for a real portrait.
Thanks, @DP1011 for SL duties, I was not looking at the rear view at all, because of your capable driving which let me explore like a 6 years old playing with new toys. I loved it, thoroughly.
Thank you @Joji varghese and @Rajiv Sam for support duties and making sure everyone had your helping hand when they needed it the most.
Special thanks and shout to @Zed @Stumpy Paj @Rajiv Sam and @DP1011 for making that insane slip-face climb to save me, when dune was adamant to hold me for breakfast.
@Naveen Raj @Bjoern @Salim Akhtar @Amir Amiri and @Gok Krish was great to see you all after a long time and thanks for your wonderful drive capabilities with a lot of patience, teamwork and humor to make such exploration drive even more memorable.
