Armada were made in US in that era and falls apart after 5-10 years of use. If you have one already then they are fine as a forceful offroad toy, but for buying one as a dedicated offroader, I wouldn't vote. Apart from build quality and electric issues, being extra big and heavy will limit you offroad adventure after 5 drives.

@Gaurav and @Frederic Thanks for your replies, sorry I was caught up with a few personal errands and couldn't reply back. It's harder than I thought to find a decent pathfinder in my budget, same for Pajero. Meanwhile I was drawn back to consider Armada (2007-2012) as it falls in my budget and the Armadas in this range are in better condition than the Pathfinders I've seen so far. Its V8 engine is going to make me sweat, but i feel it may be more comfortable for the family plus a decent offroader. Your thoughts on this please ? and Maintenance costs?

We will initially see a lot of long-range dunes; they are not very tall but will give us opportunity to be quick, which of course we are going to be. Next, we will have some very tall but narrow dunes. They are super technical and on a hot day very soft as well. They will test us on our skill of not getting stuck. By now we should know where not to apply gas, because if we are not moving forward, we are going down sinking ourselves. Please note that there is one lone fuel station on the way that is a bit away from the meeting point. Not many refreshments available there, so stock up before you move from your homes. -
Enjoy the drive guys, the 2 FJ's will thank you! A bit jealous as all my afternoon meetings have been canceled and I could have got away early enough if I had known in time. -

@Fredericyes, I already read all regarding ranks etc. It was on Monday thought, why they don't have drives on weekdays, and it appears, but for fewbie only.. -

@Looper thank you for scheduling and leading this amazing drive, which provided with opportunities to push the VTC and enjoy the RPM limiter... I enjoyed every second of the drive, right from getting stuck in the mud before the deflation point. @Batuhan Kulac @Anoop Nair thank you for making sure that we were all at the meeting point on time, and for keeping up with the pace. We had no refusal - for sure we had to loop back 2-3 times, which is quite normal for such a drive. Until next time, enjoy your week -
