amitaj
Oil filter plays a vital role when we talk about full flow of oil in the engine. Basically what happens is, with time it is realized that motor oil gets contaminated and one can find dirt and metal particles in the oil. Its really dangerous not only for the oil but the complete engine. If by any chance, the contaminated oil reaches the engine, the performance of all the auto parts is affected by it and engine is severely damaged because of that. So what do we do about it? Simple, Oil filter. Oil filter basically helps in removing any kind of dirt from the oil which is not required and really harmful for the engine. Oil filter can hold the dirt better and trap it, so that it does not enters the engine. So this is what oil filter does.
ghassank
It practically keeps all the impurities out of the engine. It is very important to replace it regularly (after one year or after some mileage).
