gantz
I checked on the internet and saw that the logo was actually just a design in a French hotel. It actually came from a wallpaper and was used since after the co-founder William Durant saw it and got a liking to it. Unfortunately it doesn't have any special meaning. kasim
The chevrolet bow-tie logo was first used in 1913 on their cars. It means dependability, economy and quality in motor transportation. When as a world traveler it struct Durant's imagination when he saw this design on a wallpaper in French hotel.
yusufhakim
Sorry for barging in on this old thread, but for those who are interested Chevrolet has quite an interesting article in its website on the history of the bowtie logo - http://ae-en.chevroletarabia.com/about-us/history/history-with-a-mystery--the-chevrolet-bowtie.html It has a few great stories on whether the Durant's (Chevrolet Cofounder) borrowed it from a newspaper ad or not? and so on. Check it out, a little bit of car history in there. Cheeers
