Yuri
My A4 2.0, 2008, has a standard speed alarm noise that sounds from 130km/h on, and does not stop ! Note; this is NOT the board computer speed limit that you can preset manually. I believe it is an UAE specific alarm, mandatory by law. Can I disable this sound myself, can Audi (Al Nabooda) do this, or do I have to go to a auto workshop? Please advise: Where did you disable this annoyance? sami
You cannot, as you its GCC specs car have it per law. Only way to disable is to remove the chime speaker (usually placed behind steering wheel dashboard next to music system). If you do that then no alarm will sound like: indicators clicks, seat belt alarm, door open reminder, headlight on reminder etc....!
Yuri
hmm ok, thanks Sami. This speed alert is not installed in European Audi's, therefore there must be a more sophisticated approach (board computer?) by which you can change it? Will call a bit around to see what the (audi) workshops say and let you know.
Yuri
Got it confirmed it is indeed possible to switch off the Alarm with a Audi Diagnostics tool, in the board computer. As this is not legal in the UAE no workshops or dealers are willing to share their details openly, and most refuse to do it. But here are a few that will help with this simple 'update'. My suggestion is to call/ask a bit around. Good luck! Note: Legal speed limit remains the limit, with or without a Speed alert..
fransisaudi
Its almost practically impossible to do it. If you get it please let me know.
cralstc
Obviously you have never heard of Vagcom. You need to change the country code of the instrument cluster, from GCC to Germany. I have done a quote a few cars for the VW Audi Club.
