If you are looking at a Pajero, buy the ones post 2015 to avoid the upshifting problem on tiptronic while offroading. A Prado 4.0 and Nissan Xterra are other options as well.3 points

Wellcome! Pajero look like a nice idea. As Rahim bhai said it should be 3.8. If you ask me i would go with Xterra or FJ Cruiser. They are more off road ready.3 points

Good choice, Pajero can serve you well on and off road. I prefer the 3.8 liter engine, just the extra growl off road when you need it. For off road either remove the lower lip in the front and back or get a plate fixed so you don't face any problems off road. Looking forward to seeing you soon.3 points

Just a few questions to further guide you for the best vehicle to serve you best. Are you looking for a 4x4 for desert use only, or are you planning to use one vehicle for both your on road and off road use? If 1 vehicle do you need a 2 seater, 5 seater or 7 seater? Are you looking to be regular, in which case as you graduate through the different levels you will either need upgrades as required or a vehicle more capable to take you through rougher terrains? Hi New here and kind of new to Dubai and the desert. So im looking to get a 4x4 to get out and about in the area and start trying a new hobby, have always been an outdoor person so exploring the desert and mountains is going to be interesting. Yea, its has not repeated yet. I left the bty terminal detached for 15 mins and then re connected properly tightened. So far so good.2 points

Happy New Year @Per A and welcome to Carnity and it's offroad club, as both are awesome. As a petrolhead, you will love Carnity and as an offroader, you will enjoy a lot with the offroad club. Just like others, I will also vote for Xterra as the first option for daily driver + offroad due to its stock offroad capability. Second, comes FJC, third Prado and fourth will be Pajero and hell yes for 3.8 and not 3.5 if offroad is one of your main agenda.2 points

Right now im looking at used newer Pajero both for daily and desert,i know its a bit bigger than what i need but haven't had a big car so its also a bit "i want". If i can find it a 3.8 otherwise a 3.5 just need to find one with the stuff i want. And when some drive comes up i will jump on the chance to be a passenger! Regards Per2 points

2 years ago the UAE government changed the law to make it illegal for dealerships to cancel warranty for cars serviced in outside garages. https://www.emirates247.com/news/emirates/uae-car-owners-relief-compulsory-maintenance-at-agency-abolished-2016-02-09-1.620419 As long as you stick to the official Nissan service schedule, use genuine parts and keep all your receipts, you can service your car wherever you like. DED take all complaints seriously and will fight on your side against any dealer who tried to cancel your warranty.2 points

Hi Guys, Need some advice. I have a nissan patrol platinum 2015 model. When starting for the 1st time in morning everything is fine. After that when I start after a couple of hours, there is no problem with the ignition . Its all smooth starting but after that it gives out this sound which sounds like tak, tak tak... couple of times and them stops, which seems to come from the lower part of dashboard an. This varies from time to time . I feel it happens after i switch on the AC but not very sure as sometimes the sound comes in spite of not switching the AC. There is no other problem. The vehicle runs perfectly. Suggestions welcome1 point

Hi, For past week or so, my RX350 (2015) infotainment system resets automatically. Often on startup the audio is in OFF state, while I had left it on on last switch off. On many instances, on powering the vehicle on, the system appears to 're-boot' it self with a message appearing "System setup, Do not power off". After that the nav is it max zoom out, HUD brightness gets to max and radio starts at 87.5. Any advice or similar experiences? Happy New Year1 point

I love 13 to the dozen and that's there for a reason. Well if you are open to buying another dedicated offroader then 3.5 LWB is good enough to start with. If you have no specific need for 4 doors, then see if you can get 3.5 SWB (2 doors) that will be more fun for offroad.1 point

Thanks for all the great advice, i have been looking at both Xterra and Pajero the other are a bit out f my price range as im looking for a newer model car. The problem im finding is that the Xterra doesn't seem that common and there aren't that many available ad the Pajero that's at 13 to the dozen but mostly the 3.5 for now it looks interesting with offroading but i dont know what its like, have only ridden a few times, so the idea is get a "cheap" good car that has the possibility so i can test/learn and then get something better/dedicated if i like it. For that the Pajero 3.5 would work right or is the 3.8 a must? Regards Per1 point

Thanks. Found the bty -ve terminal loose. Tightened same, if doesn't fix, will chk the fuse.1 point

There is a permanent live power supply to the head unit to keep the memory after you switch the vehicle off. There’s a problem with that somewhere. Check your fuses, it’s probably the same one as the cigarette lighter.1 point

Hi @PAIS. That seems really steep, but that's stealerships for you. If your car is still in warranty then it's better to get it serviced with them. A service contract might reduce your cost, check with them for details. I had a friend who serviced his car outside once and they ended up cancelling his warranty. After the warranty period you can check your owners manual the recommended service intervals, jobs to be carried out at each service and get it done outside for a small percentage.
