Hey Yas ! Welcome back ! And one serious topic to start off with 😆. I have seen some stuff on Instagram and had a look at some foreign forums a year back for the same reason. From what I’ve seen there is no straight simple swap to one of these engines, and if you find the capable guy to do so, you’re probably looking at a 40k AED job or even much higher. On top of that RTA will not pass this so you won’t be able to register the car anymore. My two cents: you’re currently driving a 3.8 which is a very capable off-roader. What would be the main reason for the upgrade ? Don’t get me wrong i also think it’s super cool to have a beast like that, but you should consider that many people do these engine swaps without upgrading cooling systems, brakes, safety devices, which makes the car a death ride and not suitable for long off-road drives, rather for going on Faya and showing off. The risk of tipping over and serious incidents is much higher too. I guess you don’t want to end up on a YouTube channel called “UAE desert Fails” or something. if anyone could pull it off, it would be @Barry

After a long break from the Absolute Newbie Drives due to the hot weather and night drives, but with the weather getting better over the last couple of weeks I am announcing this drive. However if no absolute newbies sign up we might up the level depending on the convoy signed up. This time we will drive in Maliha / Kalba area that offers perfect opportunity to learn in very safe and easy tracks to medium rolling dunes. Looking for an easy relaxing drive for everyone with plenty of opportunities to learn and grow, hill climb, and ridge riding. Newbies and Fewbies will have a great chance to see and learn the real fun that off-roading offers in a very safe and organized environment. Since timing will be crucial I request everyone to respect everyone and be on time. Yes, It's same 6G74 DOHC 3.5 Engine that comes in Pajero EVO BUT BUT BUT without Mivec head that could make this stock engine from 225 HP to 260 HP. So Im half lucky, as I can't register Pajero EVO here in UAE (right hand). Who is putting this crappiest idea in your mind....? I'm seriously curious to know. Rebore, 3.8 to 4.1 for fuel economy.....? It's going to suck more fuel buddy.

The 3.0 6G72 SOHC engine which i have in mine is not the same as Gaurav his 3.5 Mivec DOHC beast, which is super rare. Id love to add some horses to my ride too and that was on my bucketlist, but after a head gasket blowout, followed by a complete rebuild I’ve tucked away those plans and decided to spend my time in getting the best out of the car by driving smart and taking peace with what i have. An underpowered car can be a blessing sometimes, and once you’ll see what @Rahimdad does with his 3.3, And @shadow79 with his RAV4 you will be amazed 😉

Keep us posted on what the plans are and how you’re planning to gain 30-40hp.

Thanks Guys! All of the valid points were already considered, but now that I think of it having THAT much power will only make the types spin like crazy in the sand. Which defeats its purpose. I am going the alternate route and just building up the current engine to get 30-40 HP more. Should be plenty Cheers, Jas

when doing swaps things can go pretty crazy have seen Suzuki jimmy and vitara carrying Ls engines had seen buggy with corolla engines the world is open to ideas you just have to have a thick pocket... had one guy here in sanaya put a supra 7m in a jeep the work had been going for quite some time then they finished it and the car was started it sounded like magic to ears but as soon as the driver took it for a spin it just went like 100 meters from the shop and then bram beem boom and the car stopped turns out the rear diff gave away...

If you are really doing it I would go with LS swap. But is not as simple as just swapping the engine. You need to look into reinforcing the axles and installing stronger shafts otherwise they will break. Not to mention thicker springs to offset the weight of the new engine.

I am using wikiloc for recording tracks and you can put additional way points with pictures so you can remember what's where seems decent up till now...and while recording the screen turns off to save battery... haven't had the chance to to replay any particular track until now but will soon see that side of it too... It's also having paid version but I am using the free one
