With the weather getting better with each upcoming week, the mood is set for an Absolute Newbie Drive. However if no absolute newbies sign up we might up the level depending on the convoy signed up. This time we will drive in Pink Rock area that offers perfect opportunity to learn in very safe and easy tracks to medium rolling dunes. Looking for an easy relaxing drive for everyone with plenty of opportunities to learn and grow, hill climb, and ridge riding. Newbies and Fewbies will have a great chance to see and learn the real fun that off-roading offers in a very safe and organized environment. Since timing will be crucial I request everyone to be on time. Plan: Drive, train and enjoy till about 9:30 AM What to bring along: Snacks - whatever you like with little extra to share, water, liquids, smiles, stories, enthusiasm and willingness to learn. Surprise to see very limited response from our regular offroaders: Pull angle was more than 45 degree of tolerance. Ideally it should be always straight or anything close to the straight with max deviation up to 45 degrees, that too with lot of caution, patience, observation and feedback from different angles. They could have used driver side tow hook of FJC and Pajero to counter the angles to some extent. They could have use the viking rope for elastic soft tug than one big jerk. No radio communication or coordination with guy supervising the tug or filming. No use of 3 beep system, FJC could have used long beep to stop the Pajero (if trained). Both car windows should be rolled down for catching at least those last second scream. FJC tires were not pointing in the direction of tug, causing instant resistance to flip. Over enthusiast Pajero driver, who probably have not enough experience in technical recoveries kept on pulling. Clear the sand wall from driver side tire front side. Clearly it was bogged down to topple like this instantly. People don't use enough shovel as they think pulling will sort everything out. Prep before the pull to clear sand from all resistance is very important and in such critical angles its life saving. Ideally winch is better (if available) in such tricky situation to get slow motion feedback and stop in time. Give such critical tug in several tranches to access the situation first with a feedback from anyone supervising. Once car is moving with slightly gentle tugs without lifting any side, then proceed with little stronger tugs. Recover from backside with half or quarter the rope if front is totally hit in sand.

Ooooh, so this is it, I remember seeing it on the street, I was during in Al Ain road and they were 2... I remember telling my wife "look how they wrapped the car, crazy people" hehe 😅

I can think of a few issues here- 1) The pull was in the wrong direction 2) The pull was too hard 3) The tow rope was attached to the wrong side of the towed vehicle 4) The towed driver kept his wheels pointing straight ahead- he should have turned into the direction of the pull

I will, but I need our aspiring fewbies and Intermediate offroaders should think and try first. You have done a good start with a wrong angle.

Nope. I never understood the whole paying to stream music thing. Just download your music and listen to it and save your data. If you’re into streaming, you can download apps like tunein for free. Why pay when you can get it free? I listen to a lot of obscure internet radio stations and it’s a good way to find new music. If I hear something I like I’ll download it. If I really like it I’ll buy the cd to support the artist.

Trip Report - What do you do when you're tired and had a hard week. You go through a relaxing therapy provided by a relaxing desert drive behind @Gaurav bhai. @Emmanuel in second lead, @shadow79 owning the third place, @Srikumar forth, @Javier M doing sweep duties with me. We started off with some amazing medium paced drive which was apt for the area with some sharp drops. We just weaved through the dunes like silk. Some tracks while others made freshly by @Gaurav bhai. As we approached closer to the morning break we has some major stucks. Before I had my rare pop-out which was quickly fixed by @Srikumar. The break was well worth it with some excellent food, drinks, refreshments and tea. It was a very refreshing break and we enjoyed each other's company. Soon we were on phase 2 where we hit all the big dunes and played on both sides of each dune before heading out. The mood was mixed with should we continue or should we call it a day. The decision was made for us by a wall. So we inflated and headed back home. Thanks to a brilliant team who performed well throughout. Till next time adios amigos.
