  2. I’ve seen a few Benellis around UAE. Best avoided due to reliability issues. I would also avoid anything with an extended swing arm. The kind of guys who ride those bikes aren’t the kind of guys who treat them kindly.

  6. As a first step and basic common sense approach. Put a new battery and try to start the car. Get those mobile battery delivery guys as they do make an attempt to check if battery replacement is unable to start the car because they are tied to selling a battery to start the car. If car is still not starting do the OBD scan as its 2009 model. Get all the fault codes and start reverse search them to find a solution. Many times 1 bad sensor or valve or plug can throw ton of error codes, so fix one thing at a time to find the actual culprit and not like above quote to change from ECM to plugs, relay, injectors, CPS etc. It's like shooting 30 bullets in the dark and hoping 1 will kill the enemy. As desertdude mention, some time modern cars sitting idle chew lot of battery and throws all sort of tantrums. I had similar issue in ML500. After a 30 days vacation car didn't started and showed gear failure message on the dashboard. Change the battery and car started in single attempt. As it run electronic gear oil that couldn't get required current so it showed the message of gearbox failure instead of weak battery, pretty dumb. Something similar happen in Cayenne too and after jump start as battery was pretty new, car came alive.

  7. Want to treat myself with a secondhand motorcycle this summer. Hope to find a good deal this summer on Dubizzle. Which motorcycle brands should I avoid in the UAE? I have only driven Honda's. Not looking for something special, no investments, just a bike to take out on my days off.

  11. Looks like an uppity service advisor trying to hit his sales target. I have no access to diagnostic equipment at the moment so I can’t help but the first thing you need to do is get a diagnostic report so you can see what’s going on before extras have been added. Ill take a guess and say the faulty crank sensor is what’s causing the lack of injector pulse. I will speak to my electrician friend and pass his number on to you shortly.

  12. It’s also itching to get a bike. My friend has a Ducati Monster that I hope he will sell one day so i can grab it 😅 Ducati has a great following here. I know the president of the UAE Ducati club and they do lots of trips and are like one big family helping each other out. Have a look at Ducati owners club Dubai on FB. There are hundreds of bikes covered throughout the year with hardly any miles on them and owners leaving the country. Have a look out and buy from an expatriate that looked after it.

  15. Do what you can and see if you can get any positive headsup or Barry support. If you are completely hand tight, as a first step I will send the car to another garage and get "HONEST" second opinion, as this quote and estimate sounds purely dumb and highly misleading. Like I always say, stay away from a garage or mechanic who """"""CANNOT""""" guarantee his own workmanship. I bet after 13K, they will still pull another 3-4k before car comes home.

  16. These new cars cannot be left sitting for long or else they will drain their battery and throw all sorts of codes. So the first step is to put in a fresh new battery or if the old one is still good to get it charged properly and I'm 90% sure the car will start right up P.S : throw that quotation out the window or use it as toilet paper because that's all that is good for

  17. I have tried the cheer for the public service workers and health workers around 8 or 9 pm as announced. After banging my cooking utensils for 15 minutes I felt bad. They have long working days and weeks, what if some of them are staying in our vicinity, we might be disturbing them with all our banging and making noise during the little time they have to rest. As I am someone who enjoys the outdoors and meeting people and interacting with them, being locked in is the strangest thing I have done in my 48 years in existence.

  18. Well I never seen so much of kids channel in my entire childhood. Moreover, my wife and me had been playing "Head, Shoulder, Knees and Toes" along with Baby shark 🦈. 😂😂 the kids have definitely learned body parts 🤭

  20. While less extreme, working in the pharma business, I have been and remain in the office working probably longer hours than usual and working 7 day weeks. Luckily, I do not have the added concerns of medical professionals because we are socially distancing in the office very successfully. Of 150 people, there are a total of 10 in the office (5 in my team) and we are all doing what we can to limit contact outside the office so we do not infect each other - possibly a bigger responsibility than if it was just me and my wife: At home, the unusual thing we did is to cheer every night at 8pm for the public service workers and health workers who are taking real risks to keep the country moving and functioning. Last night I took my drum outside to bang on the drum because where we are supporting the public servants. That felt strange because it was not really a big thing where we are, and frankly so many of the apartments are clearly vacant. We could hear a few people in the disntance joining in ... feels quite wierd and ... isolating.

  21. Update: So i spoke to their service manager this morning and got the following info: Car battery was drained when it arrived in the workshop. Then they've put in a test battery and started diagnostics. Apparently the ECM is not sending power to the injectors, which makes them think there is something wrong with the wiring harness and ECM. I am pretty sure that the car can be back up and running with a bit of time and some parts (and probably lots of energy drinks). But as it sits now the workshop does not proceed without further ok-go on the quote.
