Frankly, I can't be happier with the team we have. We all have driven together many times and quite recently and frequently too which will play an important role in the overall strategy to win the championship. Also it is a strong team.3 points

Good Afternoon all, been lurking for a while but finally have a reason to post! My family used to do a lot of wadi driving when I was young here and about 5 years ago I inherited the 2009 Pajero 3.8 LWB, now at 170,000km (with rear locks) that I've simply added some A/T tyres to (and recently had the sidesteps removed, though yet untested) and gone bounding around in the mountains. Now, seeing as my father was now deprived of a 4x4..we're closing on a 2009 Pajero 3.8 LWB at 187,000km (with rear locks) on Saturday! He however, with slightly deeper pockets, is looking to do some modifications to it quite early on. I'm contemplating some basic bits myself but I digress. Currently the only key modifications we're looking at for his Paj is a 2inch lift, ATX tyres at likely an increased depth than stock, offroad rims and probably a bashplate. We talked about a TC Killswitch but unlikely that we'll go that route for the wadis/mountains as the Pajero TC system is one of the best for that surface and the rear locker has sorted me out a couple of times with some steep uphills with sandy/loose terrain and big hollows created by those with a lead block in place of a right foot or additional brain cells. We do very little desert driving so the major focus is on mountain/rocky terrain, though the 3.8 was specifically selected to ensure that we have freedom of choice on what/where we do/go. Any thoughts & advice from the mod-heads out there?! Cheers, James2 points

Section 2: Filming Techniques Effective Filming Techniques Most of the discussion in this post is going to be about the 360 cameras. The reason is you want to capture action all around you. The winding tracks we take, and the refusals we have, the ridge riding and the crisscrossing we do; we want to be able to capture everything that's happening to us as well as to see what other guys are up to. With a unidirectional camera you would not be able to capture the action around you. The only time you can get away with a unidirectional camera is when you say you are driving in the dark and you have only the front that is visible for you. You can see me doing it in the current βChasing the Doctor Seriesβ on YouTube which was mostly short in the dark in the evening and in night. Even here, I am using a camera to track the Doctor where both 360 degrees angle is put to use. Before you start shooting - Check and double check the settings. I cannot tell you how many times I didn't check and lost what could have been a very good footage. Camera Mount Angles Having understood that a 360 camera is the way to go, letβs discuss where you would like to mount your camera and what will be the results of it. The discussion will be limited to my own experience and productions. My favorite place to mount the camera was on driver side Rear Quarter Glass or Rear Door Glass for 4 door cars. This would provide a very good view of the front and rear as well as a view of what the driver is up to. You can see this mount in action here: I had used it on the passenger side as well as seen in this video: If I am not leading a drive, I like to mount the camera on front bumper, because it is best when you intend to cover the action in front of you and it will show how you handled the ridge riding and side sloping etc. You can see the results here in action here: When leading I like to use the rear mount because I can show what the guys at the back have been up to. You can see it here in action: I have not personally mounted the insta360 X3 on the bonnet or on the roof so I will not comment on it for the time being. PS: I plan to update and revise certain sections to enhance clarity, streamline information for brevity, and improve language and grammar.2 points

@Bjoern and @Rafey Hashmi all cars will be going to the gathering point first, as many coming with kids and they need daylight to play in the sand. Once we are at the gathering point, we will arrange the convoys for whoever wishes to drive for an hour or two. I will finalize the plan by tomorrow evening with more details.1 point

Looking back, I drove through this area a couple of times in FB+ convoys. In those days there were no fences so this area rather than being a destination was only in the way. The first time I was here, we started at 2nd December Cafe and found our way to Faya and played on the top of those dunes. It was Jan 2021. In that drive I was in second lead and had the most fun being where I was. I drove topless too. I also just realized we were supposed to go to Iftar Bowl, but we went the other side to Faya. Since that time, I had no idea π. TLDR the drive post. I only played fastest finger first. The next time I drove there, we started on the wrong side of Mahafiz trees and explored the area Mahafiz side and Faya Side of the area and we kept near to the Faya Road. It was a 14-car long convoy, so you can guess how exciting it was. By this time, I was a support team member, and I was at the back in sweep. It was a very technical drive with a lot of bushes all along. The drive ended at the under-construction cycle track of Faya at that time. Now they have completely barricaded the exit to Faya Road.1 point

Nice exploration of this beautiful terrain with a very tricky dune structure. I remember in the same area, opp 2nd Dec, while rescuing one car on slip face which was about to hit the dead tree. I winched that dead tree and the tree rolled back straight to my car, leaving numerous scars on my 1 month old paint job.1 point

That's great @Frederic, so when you plan to sell the car, you can simply mention "never gone off-road"1 point
