Thank you for all of you that managed to join us for this amazing drive, under the lead of the one & only Ale. @Ale Vallecchi you have got that something that makes your drives special; i enjoyed every minute of this adventure, which ended up a bit later than planned. I also enjoyed the radio-silence when we were navigating the difficult patches in the desert; we all agreed that summer is still out there, and it only makes the sand even more soft and difficult to drive. @Mohamad Anwer thank you for your 2nd lead - with your SWB, you showed us the way so as not to get stuck. and it is great to re-connect after couple of months. @Fabien Monleau you took control of the Center and was always the first one out of your vehicle to help others; i hope that you managed to get a warranty for your damaged tyre. @Naim Aoun @Charbel @Bjoern you were up to the challenge - couple of refusals that always make us enjoy the sand a bit more every weekend. @Pacific thank you for sweeping us; i preferred to stay in front of you as i was still testing my new air-filter and did not want to take any chances. and finally our dear Marshal @Islam Soliman i hope that you have managed to get your car checked and fixed; fortunately your car started acting up 15 minutes before the exit (when we all quite exhausted from the heat). Enjoy your week chaps until next time @Rk ram special mention to you too mate - aside 1-2 stucks, you were amazing during the drive5 points

It was a fantastic drive & indeed a masterpiece of a drive by @Davie Chase. Loved every second of it. A impeccable second lead by @DP1011 and thanks for the coffee during the break. I had the break point mapped on my Gaia but did not know what it was for, it was a wonderful place to visit. @Ranjan Das and @Dodi Syahdar helpful support from you guys, and much appreciated as well, tugging out the stuck cars. @Mohit Gurnani & @Rk ram were only FB+ in the convoy so it felt less like a FB+ drive and more like a IM drive - you guys did great. @Patrick van der Loo your tiny TJ can go anywhere and seems to do it with so much ease. @Gertjan thanks for doing so much for making these drives more memorable with your photography. I off-loaded my responsibilities to my friend who was visiting us and just enjoyed the driving.5 points

We request every member that joins this drive to go through the below information and strictly follow these guidelines, etiquettes and responsibilities. MUST READ AND COMPLY Environmental Policy Offroad Flag Guideline Two Way Radio Guideline Off road Driving Etiquette's Emergency details for all off-roaders Off Road Driving - Roles & Responsibilities DRIVE DETAILS Level: Newbie and above (sorry, this time no Absolute Newbies) When: 29 October 2023, Sunday Meeting time: 7:30 AM - Sharp (Without any exceptions) Meeting Point: https://maps.app.goo.gl/1DjtotHo1b4nqJmd9 Action Plan: "An inland town in United Arab Emirates (UAE) lives as a ghost town, a place that has long been abandoned, long forgotten! An eerie silence now surrounds the entire place, which is locally called ‘Buried Village’. It used to be a tiny hamlet once upon a time. According to the locals nearby, it was once inhabited by the people of Al Kutbi tribe (they are among the three prominent tribes living in the vicinity of Al Madam). Swallowed by sand or spooked by ‘Djinn’? What actually happened here? Why the town that once flourished is now all covered in sand? No one is pretty sure about what went there. What better way to enjoy this Halloween weekend, than driving across a rather unforgiving and challenging stretch of desert, to end the drive at this legendary haunted village? The area, with tight dunes and bushy flats, preceded by the tall and daunting big dunes of Iftar Bowl and Super Bowl, will require to have already learned the basic off-roading skills, hence no Absolute Newbies will be allowed (only for this drive). MANDATORY: bring your kids, family or friends, and most of all wear a mask, a costume, make-up, or whatever makes you feel in the mood for Halloween. No normally attired driver will be allowed🤪. The best "costumed" car will win a bounty of treats!! Approximate finish time: 11:30 AM Type of Car: Any proper 4x4 with front and back tow hooks and 8-10 inches of ground clearance. What to bring along: Loads of water, snacks (for yourself), smiles, enthusiasm and willingness to learn. The morning started with a wonderful coffee at the fuel station before reaching the starting point, and it turned out that the only tank filled was my own and forgot to fill up the vehicle. I couldnt be embarrased enough when I announced just before entering that the tank was empty. Thanks my sand brothers for waiting out the embarassement for me. The drive route was taken through its paces, and I could feel @Davie Chase had decided to give us all some lessons which maybe was left back from last Sunday's drive in the same place where we were unable to move in rhythm due to frequent stucks. @Emanuel your second lead was great bro. @Cole bertasso Hope to see you regularly. @Issam Atra@Ishak its always nice to meet you both. You are both doing great with each of your drives, We three have been gaining experience up literally together and feels 'homie' to see each other. Hope to keep levelling up safely and make our mentors proud. I had a front cam installed, the videos are there, but somehow couldnt transfer it out. Once done will share them, hopefully should make a good view. @Gautam Banka, @Sreenath G You did miss a good learning drive guys.3 points

It was a fantastic drive. I am so inspired by it that I plan to have an IM drive next week. In the drive plan I had mentioned that we will be taking photos. We did not get any time from driving to take photos did we? I managed a sum total of 1 image from the entire drive. Thank to @Stumpy Paj, @Bravoecho & @Mahmoud Taha for participating in today's drive. We missed you @Bashar Beasha in today's drive. We were virtually a SWB convoy and your presence would have made a lot of difference in the convoy.3 points

When you upload videos to YouTube, you must specify that the video is not meant for Kids otherwise it is by default take up in the YouTube Kids. In YouTube Kids it switches off comments as well as background playback (even if you have YouTube Premium) and YouTube would not let the video be saved to viewers playlists as well plus subscribers to the channel don’t get any notifications (learn more). You Do Not want to upload videos in Kids Mode because One: They are not meant for Kids even. Two With kids' mode the exposure that you get on the video becomes restricted and you do not reach your intended audience - your videos are recommended to less than 13-year-olds. You can however edit the setting in YouTube Studio (https://studio.youtube.com/) to specify "No, it's not 'Made of Kids' (go to Profile>YouTube Studio>Content>Video in the Audience section) Example of YouTube Kids more video: 08 07 23 FB Plus_Faqa_fishtailing Bu Tais to Umm Al Oush (i am deliberately not embedding the videos) PS: I will change, if the current video is edited to remove it from Kids Mode.1 point

Was a nice drive and great to meet everyone! Learning the Pajero TC trick was definitely a technical highlight, and I also discovered that attaching a suction cup to a Pajero roof makes concerning metal-flexing noises when you snag the top of the flag on trees. Looking forward to hitting some off-the-farm-track stuff with you guys in the future!1 point

Dear Desert Nomads, @Emanuel @Issam Atra @Cole bertasso @Ishak and @Lalaji great way to finish off my drive weekend, although we had a few issues at the start, we overcame them with smiles and banter to get us all moving off in the right direction (towards the sand). Due to a later start than planned we had to adjust our route but still managed to tackle some nice technical dunes until turning up the heat on the mid to long range dunes which you all handled admirably. We did have some spectators during a couple of stucks but they did not offer to help lol although did shout encouragement through roars and grunts Special shout out to @Emanuel for an excellent second lead, you did an awesome job mate to keep everyone on a nice smooth track, thanks and appreciated. A big thankyou to @Lalaji for sweeping the convoy, you did an amazing job of keeping me informed every step of the way. I hope you all enjoyed the drive as much as I did and I hope that you all have a great rest of your weekend and look forward to seeing you all again very soon in the sand1 point

Dear desert Wanderers, what a way to start the weekend, a beautiful sunrise greeted us after the first challenge of navigating the foggy weather on our way to Abu Dhabi. However, this did not dampen the spirits or enthusiasm of anyone in the entire convoy @DP1011 @Mohit Gurnani @Ranjan Das @Rk ram @Dodi Syahdar @Patrick van der Loo @Gertjan and @Looper . Without exception everyone greeted each other with a cheery smile and lighthearted banter. The drive itself moved off and we wasted no time in getting into a fantastic rhythm along the longer-range dunes before entering some tricky technical dunes worthy of an intermediate level drive. The sand to start with was a tad firmer than expected due to the damp foggy conditions. However, this soon changed as the current bun (sun) quickly dried the top damp layer turning it into powdery, soft, lush white sand as only Fayah has to offer. The Entire convoy handled this change with prowess befitting an Intermediate drive, with just a few refusals and a couple of stucks that were quickly and easily dealt with by the wonderful and super knowledgeable support team of @Looper, @Dodi Syahdar, @Ranjan Das and @DP1011. You guys one and all drove amazingly. My Second lead @DP1011 played a blinder, and I truly mean that, we had a couple of oh oh moments with an unexpected appearance of a nearly buried fence and a couple of surprise appearances of rock formations. all handled brilliantly by @DP1011 who was quick to react to my radio messages, well done mate and a pleasure to have you in S/L. @Dodi Syahdar and @Ranjan Das both had their part to play in a couple of tug of wars, we got to see the brand new not so shinny Bronco in action and it was a pleasure to watch, thank you both for your support today. Lastly @Looper who as usual Swept the convoy with professionalism and style, and with the occasional loop just to ensure he keeps the name alive and well. Having you in Sweep my friend meant I could relax at the front and enjoy the drive, thank you and appreciate the support it was outstanding. Drive Stats Thanks again to you all and have a great rest of your weekend.1 point

You have managed, together with your convoy, to completely take in "Big Red" from all possible directions and design a thrilling drive experience! Member in the spotlight While most of us are staying inside during this scorching summer, some people decide to crawl underneath the car and work on them. This hands-on approach has won @Stumpy Paj our "Car Guru Of The Quarter" award !! From dropping sub-frames, to replacing radiators, and spare wheel cover delete work, with the help of @Bravoechohe has turned his Pajero into a real Offroad Beast ! Well done Nathan ! Stucks of the Quarter Usually quite mindful of the terrain and its surroundings, @Fredericmanaged to park his Patrol in front of a big bush, and on top of that was seen smiling and waving, while @Naveen Rajwas actually solving the problem for him . Another noteworthy stuck was @Gauravon the Razeen exploration. Thanks to the great teamwork of @Zed@Rajiv Sam@DP1011and @Stumpy Paj they were able to clear the sand enough to get the car out of this scary angle. Lead Champion Congratulations to @Looperfor leading a whopping 11 drives this quarter! Your passion for off-roading is immense! Thanks @Looper..i have changed my video settings.. By opting "made for kids" i thought i was just declaring that it was "safe" for kids to watch..and thereby increasing the audience base 😀 and not restricting it. Because there is another option to restrict to 18 yrs or older, which i did not select........anyways... I see now, it was kind of counter intuitive!!1 point
