  1. A HUGE SHOUTOUT TO THE AMAZING TEAM BEHIND THE SCENES WHO CONTRIBUTED IMMENSELY TO THIS PHENOMENAL SUCCESS! The journey towards achieving this remarkable milestone was nothing short of extraordinary. The level of preparation undertaken was not solely for the purpose of delivering the final result but also for the incredible feat of reaching this point. Countless hours of intense brainstorming sessions, sleepless nights fueled by determination, and the continuous challenge to achieve perfection were woven into the fabric of each passing day. Central to the success of this endeavor was the unwavering commitment, knowledge, and patience shown by @Frederic and @Srikumar. Their passion for the project and their selfless dedication to creating an outstanding off-road challenge for everyone involved were nothing short of remarkable. They went above and beyond, making tough decisions such as adjusting travel plans, altering business schedules, and reprioritizing family commitments, all in the pursuit of making DCT 2023 a truly unforgettable experience for all participants. Their role and contribution can only be likened to the rocket fuel propelling this event toward excellence. Selecting the ideal battleground for such an epic endeavor posed an enormous challenge for all of us. It had to be a stage worthy of champions, yet not so daunting as to be excessively risky or seemingly impossible to conquer. Striking the perfect balance required a keen understanding of the intricacies involved, and the team worked tirelessly to ensure that the challenge would be both tough and achievable. As we reflect on this journey, it is crucial to acknowledge the collaborative spirit and collective effort that brought us to this triumphant moment. Many thanks, @Ale Vallecchi for recce support and for saving my car from the farm fence. Many thanks @Islam Soliman @Simon D @DP1011 @Sunil Mathew and @Cha for amazing support and control to keep everyone safe, informed and smiling from morning till night. Each member of the team played a vital role, contributing their unique skills and expertise to the overall success of DCT 2023. This achievement is a testament to the power of teamwork, resilience, and a shared commitment to pushing boundaries. Once again, a heartfelt thank you to everyone who contributed to making this event a resounding success!

  2. You have to understand the boundaries as gradients rather than a hard line. Just like the waypoints it feathers out in all directions.

  4. Yes, they have and it's been clearly measured with Garmin Basecamp which is far more accurate than Gaia (web version). You can clearly see the variance on all 4 tracks (within 15m variance) vs 1 orange (a clear case of GPS inaccuracy). https://help.gaiagps.com/hc/en-us/articles/115003524167-Why-GPS-Track-Recording-Can-Be-Inaccurate Moreover, as judges, we do pay close attention to such technical variances vs team taking advantages for fair competition.

  5. @Carnity An amazing toast raised to all off-road enthusiasts by this wonderful event successfully completed in style. @Icon Auto Wow! You guys attacked the dunes head on and blasted and nailed it. A big congrats to you guys. The amount of learning daring guts we got to know from your scores is beyond bounds. Almost perfect score. @Looper and team. Great work and commendable performances. It’s great to be learning from you guys. Thanks @Carnity for this exposure to our members with @Icon Auto and Team StrongHooks, this raises the bar for us. As a strict rule based off-road group, I couldn’t help noticing that while we chose to do multiple passes when in doubt but (without taking away at all from @Icon Auto fabulous and untouchable glory) I do notice ingress of formidable NO GO areas twice which would ideally lead to irreparable damage like disqualification. @GauravSoni man oh man, you and team. Bro. Fantastic. Unbelievable what you guys achieved. Congrats. Some score you put up and made us Carnity members proud. You, our internal Carnity heros. I personally thank @Asif Hussainin having faith and allowing me to join his team Sand Runners. @Cole bertasso @JohanE @Jaro Tuzinsky we jelled into a brotherhood that I will remember for life. Asif bro you clearly had the most unrecognized fellows under your wings. Shoutout to @JohanE with around a max of 4 desert drives, and @Cole bertasso with similar experience Anyways amazing learning experience for us all. Wish Carnity keep making such challenges every year so we keep learning and bettering our self’s.

  6. Massive respect to all of the team leads. Yesterday was tough and having to drive soft powder sand tested everyone let alone having to navigate at the same time.

  7. Thank you @Carnity especially @Gaurav @Frederic and @Srikumar and the entire support team of @Cha @Sunil Mathew @DP1011 @Islam Soliman (hope you car is not terminal mate) and @Simon D for all the hard work making this a truly memorable day for all of us. the terrain was the trickiest I have encountered during my short time as a Carnity lead, but boy oh boy was it fun, except one forest that we drove through to get to an easy green (not so easy and was one of the worst patches of bushes I have ever seen in the desert). I learnt so much in this 6hrs and had a fantastic confidence boost along the way as to my leading skills. may entire team of desert flyers @Dodi Syahdar @PETELCZYC PAJERO - luke @Joji vargheseand @Benjamin drove the wheels off their cars and followed me wherever I went. Talk about team work, wow you guys were the best team a lead could wish for, thank you one and all for making my day so memorable and so much fun. looking forward to the next one thank you all for a great weekend 😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀

  8. Correct, and this is how we measured the GPS variance in real-time before the competition on the same site. Blue track is my track while going from the deflation point to the starting point. Green track is in reverse order after 1 hour. I used my same tire track as there was only one track in the whole sabkha. Same car, same gps, same gaia, same phone and we have recorded 10-15 meter variance. When I merged to the orange track, it was very accurate.

  11. @Gaurav I’m sure it would have been verified in all its wisdom. And without an iota of doubt, absolutely there is no denying @Icon Autosupremacy and performance at this event. Hats off!! My post was not a challenge to the decision ever. Basically we had drawn a route which traversed the tiny gap between the 2 No go zones, (as must have most teams Im sure thought about it for fun) but scrapped it in the very beginning for anything coming close to disqualification. Wouldn’t be worth the risk😂 In the very highest event forms of Motorsport this would be a near suicidal attempt. Just brought the intrusion part out as it’s a learning process for us all the 8 teams.

  18. Welcome to Carnity @Julien Recan, As this is your first drive with the club I will need you to please go through the video and mandatory readings in the main drive post and confirm back once done. Also need the following details: - details of your car (make, color, 4WD High and Low gear, front and rear tow points) - details about your previous off-road experience (if any) - you must have an off-road safety flag - programable radio is required however if you don’t have one kindly let us know.

  19. It might sound obvious, but having more people on whitelist than participants suggests that the interest in these events is greater than anticipated -> is there any plan to expand number of drives? Also - the title is a bit misleading for an afternoon drive to be called "Morning"

  25. @GauravSoni @Davie Chase @Looper @Rizwanm2 @Zed @Asif Hussain @Icon Auto @Wissam Good morning guys. We wanted to provide a bit more clarification on the waypoint scoring itself. Please see below: 1. There will be no flags or visual items at the waypoints. 2. The aim is to have ALL your team members get as close as possible to each waypoint, so make sure to zoom in on your GPS systems to the maximum. After the event we will analyze all your tracks and see if all team members have reached within the allowed 15m range. Example below: * The black track has reached very closely to the waypoint: Score will be granted. * The red track stayed too far away from the waypoint: Score will not be granted. See you all tomorrow !

  26. thanks for expanding the group. Pajero SWB, white, stock towing points available. Prepared for mild over-landing (slight lift, spacers, nothing extreme). Over 2M kms on my clock and several seasons of racing - it's like a career shift, I guess. Overlanding and beach driving experience from past life - nothing you guys would consider a pro thing, so after watching your guides I am humbly stating here for the record: a full blown noob ready to learn new things. I'm only missing a... shovel, but I guess it's something I will be able to get tomorrow during the day...
