Some advice once you get the bug for off roading, always stretch your budget more then you think if you are going to be in the desert almost every week, I believe myself and Ben went through 4 stages of compressor envy. With this years ADihex show we upgraded to the ARB twins, self installed, including a self fabbed bracket for the rear of the gladiator. Next outstanding task is to source 10 gauge wire and wire it up.

Thanks @Ale Vallecchi, for a fantastic and at times quite tough drive. All in one of the very best I have been on despite and maybe because of some of the issues I had. Do not think I have learnt so much from a single drive since Newbie stage! Did a lot of reflection on the way home. To @Cha, @Mahmoud Taha & @RiadJL along with @Ale Vallecchi of course, thanks for the amazing teamwork on the drive, especially during the last hour when we had issues reaching an exit. It was a really good growth experience and will not be forgotten in a hurry.

Too bad we couldn't beat the record but I'll be very happy to try again some time Overall it was a really well paced drive with a few refusals along the way and one pop out. Amazing support from @Chaamd his tools to help us get moving promptly everytime. Toward the end after sunset visibility was quite bad and we had a tough time getting out but once again impressed by Ale's skills getting us out despite not being able to see very well Good to see you again @Andrew John Melvill. You had a bit of a tough go at it today with the tire pressure and the pop out but stellar driving and SL for you. If one guy Jeep should fire or make the entire dept redundant would be the brains behind this😅, Yes I had same issue, once on service axle locker system and now 3 times on rear diff locker all 3 times sensor issue and was covered under warranty hence got it fixed. @Julien Recan had similar issue in last drive ( To mention, I had no warnings until I reached home and then warning lights on abt rear diff locker) - Now all I do is assume its sensor issue and continue!

A couple of months ago I started getting Axle longer engaging/disengage notification on my Jeep Gladiator, nothing to worry about except it would randomly appear when I had not pressed the Axle Locker button. This was rare until one day it also came with a warning to service the Axel locker and it would not longer function, this is a know issue on the JL/JT’s and covered under warranty, they replace the sensor in the differential and all should be good again.

Are you coming from Dubai ? Because it’s just across the border and even closer than our Fayah meeting point. I would not sleep in a tent yet, it’s far too hot at night. If you sleep in your car you can perhaps enter the meeting point and go little bit inside.

@Pats would recommend to go for a new steering rack than a rebuilt one… rebuilt ones don’t seem to last very long, especially with off-roading… the price quoted is too high as well.. also better to buy OEM parts yourself from Mitsubishi…

Good morning everyone, The soft sands were certainly our nemesis that dogged us all morning. Thanks @Davie Chase for your kind words summarising my support as S/L and for your leadership throughout the drive. It was certainly most valuable when things got tricky for so many of the convoy in that final leg of the drive. Thanks @Bjoern for helping winching me up enough to then make my own way out of that stuck. Again, our nemesis in her finest hour. Thanks to @Mark B and @Ishak for helping me with my semi-pop outs. I don't recall seeing those before in the desert drives and all mine needed was a bit of air. No jack required. Makes sense, they only looked like a flat tire. I briefly had a S/L today. 🤣 Thanks @Nizar Shawwa for following the plan to make our way back to the convoy. You went down that tall and sharp decent with solid control and appropriate speed. It is so important to listen to the radio and follow the instructions of the marshals and support team. I know ego and or adrenaline can impair our listening abilities but this risks making things worse for yourself and holding up the convoy because what could have been an easier recovery now needed more time and effort. It's for your own safety and for the safety of your fellow drivers. As Davie mentioned, listening up even if it isn't you the marshal is speaking to gives us an idea of what to expect when it is our turn and what to do or not do in order to have a successful attempt. It's also best not to pass another driver in front of you in convoy order or to park beside and above them on a side slope. Especially on a soft sand slope. Safety Bear rant over. 🤣 Have a great rest of the weekend everyone and see you next time on the sands!

Yeah thank you @Davie Chase for a great drive today although it nearly killed me 😂 my fitness levels were definitely challenged! Couldn’t have done without @Bjoern who’s winch definitely saved the day! And that cold bottle of water from your fridge saved me 😂 was great to see everyone still in good spirits at the end even tho we were waaaaay over time! So thank you to all of you for your patience. I think we all probably learned something today! I know I did 😊😊 you all drove brilliantly today and I look forward to seeing you all again in the sand soon

What an amazing drive it was today. I returned to the sands today after a break of 2 years almost finding to the adrenaline filled dune climbings and ridge crossings. My big fat Armada also debuted today. Honestly I wasnt very sure about its performance and I did struggle today with the car and traction control which gave me few stucks and refusals. But all in all my elephant didnot let me down. Coming to the heroes of the day. I am short of words for your leadership @Davie Chase. You kept your calm and and made sure no man is left behind. The episode where most of the cars were stuck behind the dune, it sounded like a warzone on the radio though we coudn see on the other side.You led the army like a general with your orders and advise. I have a video of you looking like a lone survivor. @Mark B your gladiator did fight like the romans saving a lot of us today. Thanks for pulling me out a couple of time. @nithish468 get your car fixed soon. You cannot miss your Saturday ritual. Thank you everyone for the amazing drive. Would love to drive more under your leadership @Davie Chase @Mark B.

So many diff maintenance in one go, seems not related unless you've recently bought this Pajero. Especially these 3 out of the below ones.

Hi @Khan2024, from what you have discribed this noise could be caused by one of the following : 1. as @Frederic mentioned Rear Cv Axel (but the noise needs to be consistent ) 2. Rear Propeller shaft ( if the noise is happening while in 2wd and in 4WD ) 3. One of your rear wheels Hubs Bearings are a bit loose and needs to be tighten up . You will hear the noise when shifting from D to R and from R to D but the noise will disappear after moving .

Dear Desert Wanderers @Stumpy, @Cesar Chacon, @khlief, @essam ibrahim, @Pramod B, @Gary F, @Shiju Raju, @Shaun J, @Mahmut, @Bravoecho, & @Bjoern, Firstly thank you all for being on time so that we could get away sharp in the morning that is always a bonus. i hope you all enjoyed the drive as much as I did, I did say at the briefing that the sand would be soft after the recent sand storms, however, even i was surprised at how soft it was. You guys dealt with the conditions brilliantly, we had a few stucks and refusals but that is all part of the hobby and learning journey, not just for the car that is stuck but for the other club members and the support team. @Stumpy fantastic second lead mate, absolutely nailed it, great gap between me and you allowing you to anticipate my issues and great communication, to stop me if you heard anything on the radio that I maybe did not hear top marks today for my Second Lead. @Bjoern great job at sweep mate, keeping me update as to whether we were moving or had issues, great job and thanks for your support today. @Gary F, very busy Centre forward, but you are getting stronger in the support role with every drive. you handled all of the stucks in a calm and professional manner with very little input from me, great job mate thanks for the support could not have managed without you today.
