As mentioned in the drive topic, this will be a gentle overlanding style of drive, as the terrain doesn't really lend itself well to dune-bashing, and the high temperatures also mean we should take it a bit easy on the cars. Some pointers for tomorrow: 1) Please arrive on time. Even better if you arrive 15mins early so you have time to prepare. 2) We will be using Channel 4: 446.081Mhz on the Walkie-Talkie. 3) Please bring enough water for yourself and i also recommend some protection like a baseball cap or hat. The summer has officially started The plan is to exit in Falaj Al Mualla. I expect this to be around 10-10.30, but there can always be some delays (part of off-roading) Keep this in mind if you have other appointments in the afternoon. See you all tomorrow!

@M.Seidam Indeed yesterday was one of the greatest drives not because there were no stucks or refusals but because everyone was at military level from adherence to instructions which made supporting and guiding much easier. It was a great convoy yesterday and It is very promising to see how the Newbies had the courage to tackle the last stretch with no hesitation. Kudos to all! We need to decide on a name, should it be: 1- The Night Club or 2- The Knight Club (Pun intended) Enjoy your weekend everyone !

Stars ✨ not only seen in a clear sky at night , but also are found vibrating and shining somewhere on the sand and behind the wheels splitting the darkness in synchrony . It was indeed a great Night Drive from the start till the end every one knew his position in this chain like a magnet which whenever got disconnected the attraction forces realign it in no time. helping magnificently maintaining it at all time was @Mike M. In the middle , @Andrew John Melvill at the tail of the convoy and the outstanding second lead @Faraz94 Big thanks to them and to the remainig convoy members who showed real courage especially toward the climax of the drive which was quite challenging at big red. three indicators of how good every one was ,especially at the first half of the trip between Tawi Nezwa till the rock , the first was the Radio silence for a quite long time as everyone was busy enjoying the ride. The second there were no ropes out indicating how good self recovery did the job and the third was the adherence to the convoy discipline which reflects how responsible every one was . more and at top of everything was the good chitchat connecting with old and new fine ppl 🙏 . Dear Desert Wanderers @Glenn W, @Jason M, @Steve Farmer, @Krinesh, @Wayne Momsen, @khurramm, @ChrisW, @Zsolt, @Myrko, @Paul Eldho, @Sam Selim, and @Mark B, we will be using Ch4 446.081 for our adventures tomorrow evening. The plan is to start off in the daylight drive through the twilight into the darkness of the night. ideal for those that have never driven in the desert at night as it is a different experience. This is 17:15 to around 20:45 time frame drive so please make sure you have snacks and drinks with you, we will be stopping for a break in order to re-fuel our bodies If your plans have changed please remove your RSVP so we can rearrange the convoy at the earliest opportunity. Sorry, guys. Due to a sudden change in my travel plans, I have to drop out of the drive.

Good morning @Frederic I took myself off the list, just too tired, travel schedule was brutal this week and appears to also be the same the coming week. Have to be honest to myself and others and not risk dozing off en route to the starting point or the way back. Your description of the drive as well as the experience on your last drive make me do this with a heavy heart, though! Hope to join again soon. Best regards and enjoy the drive!

My car developed a coolant leak issue - similar to the one it did while I was at Shuwaib last time. This takes out the car out for service and won’t be back till next week. I am forced to cancel the drive for this week and will reschedule it till sometime in the future.

Ehh, sorry my the car is still in the garage…. Till next time
