Dear Desertnauts. A short briefing in preparation for tomorrow's drive. First and foremost, for the Newbies (or Absolute Newbies) joining the drive, please make sure you have a radio, fully charged, and a flag, to bring with you. Both will be necessary. The meeting and deflation point will be available on the main post. Please come punctually, so we can have ample time to deflate, and most of all to conduct a thorough briefing about desert driving principle and main skills. The convoy order at the moment will look as follows: @Andrew John Melvill in Second Lead @Luni at #3 @Mahesh_ at #4 @Esteban Ayala at #5 @Nikki1007 at #6 @Hartzel at #7 and @khurramm in Sweep. Feel free to bring family and friends along, with some refreshments to be enjoyed during one of the stops along a very pleasant route, on pristine sand. See you all tomorrow.3 points

Dear Desert Drivers, thank you for joining the drive today. We had a great time in the desert. Starting from a sand track in Lisaili, we entered progressively into the desert, and very soon we were surrounded by dunes. We made our way further into the desert, using the wide ridges on top of the dunes when possible to try avoiding the vegetation, going up and down, with sometimes very steep inclines, experiencing different kind of sand, sometimes hard and solid, sometimes very soft or surprisingly humid. We had a few refusals, totally fine and normal while we are still trying to feel the traction and assessing the required momentum to cross an obstacle. A few stucks gave us the opportunity to take the shovels out, to remove sand from below the car and release the driver. Progressing further South, with the Eye of Sauron watching us, we finally reached a sand track from where we took East in the direction of Murqab. We finished the last 30 min on sand tracks, increasing the pace, adding a few climbs for the view, just enjoying the desert drive. Well done @Pajero-ME Martin for your first drive! @Pramod Sathyaseelan, well driven, but sometimes, you are loosing it, work on your focus and anticipation, @edward-392 excellent drive, keep discovering the capabilities of your car. @Simon Thomas, thank you for the 2nd lead, you were following my indications and anticipating my moves. Great thank you to @Mahesh_ in sweep, watching the convoy and assisting the drivers when required. Enjoy the long weekend and see you soon !3 points

@Ale Vallecchi great drive out this afternoon, mix of some nice clean dunes, some tough areas with quite a bit of vegetation and some very large sabkhas. The surprise at the end of the drive was seeing the dunes with large amounts of water in between. Very surprising and very pleasant. @Giacomothanks for the sweep today, and great driving @_Piotr_ @Lukas Wii @Steffi3 points

What an awesome experience! Thank you all for this adventure, especially @JeromeFJ and @Mahesh_ for your guidance...always professional, calm and precise!! My front bumper is deformed after this trip...I think a common issue with the standard Pajero bumper. I will open a post in the forum later. Everyone have a great weekend and see you soon!1 point
