  2. As we have been respecting authorities guidance & Carnity COVID guidelines to resume desert drives with caution by keeping social distance and wearing mask at all times outside the vehicle Unfortunately few off-roaders have difficulty in understanding and abiding these guidelines. As published in the national newspaper of UAE, everyone need to understand that still there are no gatherings allowed and authorities are issuing fine for 10,000 AED for host and 5,000 AED for attendees. https://gulfnews.com/uae/health/people-caught-violating-covid-19-safety-instructions-prosecuted-1.1591381059748 If you spot anyone stepping out of the car not wearing a mask, please remind them on the radio immediately. As we all are in this together, so we all have to help each other to remind. Failing to abide below list of restriction will result in an immediate ban from Carnity Off-road Club: FIRST WARNING Minimum 1 month ban from joining any Carnity off-road Club drives. Written warning will be issued on your Carnity profile. SECOND WARNING Minimum 6 month ban from joining any Carnity off-road Club drives. Written warning will be issued on your Carnity profile. 4. @rohan Happy to share my honest review abt Liberty KK (08-12) Currently running stock 3.7 V6 engine.2.5" Rough Country leveling kit. 1.5" Yita spacers but had to remove it as it was causing running issue. 265/70 R17 Dunlop Grandtrex. I have trimmed almost 40%-50% of my front bumper and somewhat similar on the rear one. be prepared to trim the front bumper for fewbie and upwards the stock will break a 100%, for sure. rest everything is stock on my jeep I have be able to handle almost every challenge the dunes had to offer. Initially had an O2 sensor issue and was lacking power but once replaced it has been an absolute beast this is a very common problems with these models . Never had any major issues the engine and transmission is solid even after putting 280K kms on my jeep. i am happy with the overall build. I don't want to say more and jinx it have recently put bigger tyres and need to see how it plays out . Having put these Kms my jeep it is now a hybrib " It burns Oil and Gas" @Srikumar Approach and breakover angles are a bit less when compared to others and you will need to lift it and trim it. once done there will be no issues KK suspension gives good affroad capability and a very comfortable on road experience. Maintenance is not expensive you just to know the right place to get your stuff. eg 6ltr mopar 10k oil is 100aed . overall i would say its not the best but its best for me. it offers good Box looks and decent offroad capabilities you can find 2010 under 100k kms for 15k aed Have been using it for offroading almost 1 1/2 yr and loving it ,would not trade it for anything else.

  5. Good Morning Al Lisali Adventurers @Janarthan @Shiju Manuel @RohanH @asifk @Lorenzo Candelpergher @marks @Jolly Abraham @Nizam Deen @J J @Yousef Alimadadi (and the reserves, in case anyone drops out @Mehmet Volga and @Jorge Stepniak Felippe) Thanks for signing up for the Friday morning drive from Al Lisali to Al Qudra. For most of you this will be quite new territory, so a few things to prepare for mentally in advance of the drive. There are tricky technical dunes we need to pass to get into the wide, flowing dunes that allow us to run from Al Lisali: We have a morning drive, so hopefully the sand will be a little less forgiving, but you will need to be on your game straight from the get go. Unlike many drives where we can ease in slowly to the more difficult dunes, we have the most challenging technical bit straight away. Technical dunes while not as much fun, are important to improve your drive skills. The better you can control your vehicle through the smaller dunes where angles are all important, the better - because this really helps you to understand where the front and back of your car (and the approach angles etc., ) are. Why? Because once you know this, you can understand if a different approach route makes more sense when you have a longer vehicle to avoid cresting or catching a bumper on the way in or out. Once through the technical stuff, the route takes us through some wonderful swooping wide dunes where we will be able to, hopefully, move at speed. Our newest Fewbies on the drive will find this a big difference from Newbie drives, those with a bit more experience and approaching Fewbie+ will enjoy the chance to really attack some of these dunes an start to undersrtand the potential of the vehicle. Come with a full tank of gas! The intention, time permitting is to cover a lot of ground - more than we normally cover when in Qudra or Sharjah. It would really be a shame if someone starts to have range anxiety. Look out for more updates during the week, and as ever, if there are quesitons, please feel free to ask. If anyone has to drop out for any reason, there are reserves waiting in the wings, eager to replace you. Convoy roles will be announced later in the week for 2nd Lead and Sweep. We will be joined by Carnity's own Superman @Rahimdad on the drive to keep us all in order. Have a great week. See you soon in the sand.

  6. Anyone managed to catch the race yesterday - Hungary GP? I am quite impressed with Redbull for fixing Max's suspension on the grid and Max went on to secure no.2 spot on the podium. It was really working under pressure to the perfection. In case you are wondering, Max slide off and hit the tyre wall whilst driving to the starting grid.

  7. @Gaurav and @Wrangeld you can add newbie @Sreejith Sreenivasan on this drive who want to join and add me to wait list on the morning fewbie (Lisaili). Or another drive where places are available. If no places come up if as one drops out , I will join only for the evening fewbie plus drive. Thanks

  8. WD40 won’t help. My guess is that they have been over tightened and the threads have been stretched. What I would do is use a drift and give them a few hard smacks with a hammer before loosening. Sounds counterintuitive but sometimes with stuck nuts, it can help to tighten them a tiny bit more before loosening. The other option is acetylene but you are going to damage the finish on your wheels. Wheel studs don’t actually need to be as tight as most people think. Recommended tightening torque for FJ is only 112Nm. It’s worth investing in a cheap 1/2” torque wrench or a set of torque sticks and giving them a check every so often.

  9. @Vanessa8580 has G015 on her Pajero since 6 months. So far pretty happy. It’s hard to compare because my G012 are 16 inch and her G015 are 18inch, but the G015 looks a little bit more sturdy/less flexible. https://monotukuru.com/yokohama-geolandar-a-t-g015-vs-geolandar-a-t-s-g012/ @Wrangeld description on Page2 gives same info.

  10. Oops, I missed on that point. Now G012 and G015 - I personally have no comments, unless I use G015 too. But going by the Yokohama credibility and super happy with G012, I will definitely give G015 a try.

  13. The only thing that will break non-Chinese OEM lug bolts is if they are over tightened. The thing to do now would be replace all th lug bolts with OEM bolts, since you will never know if the ones you buy from a scrap yard were also not over tightened at some point in their lives.

  14. Agree. If you don't want to compromise on your sound quality, go for Pioneer, Sony, Alpine, or other well known audio brand. Stay away from the Chinese ones unless you will use an external amplifier.

  21. Fuck ! That thing is ugly as sin. US spec means flood damaged or in a crash bad enough that it was written off. Plus 195k miles that's 300k plus kms. Also be weary if rust on these US imports. My buddy once bought a TJ US spec right when the container opened after arriving here. It has been in a slight tip over which cracked the hardtop and a front fender slight bent. But was it a pain in the ass. First of all almost impossible to find a hardtop anywhere. And we found a slightly less damaged repairable one for 4000 plus Then while slowly driving around 30k the rear axel just popped out for no good reason. Then almost impossible to register because frame had rust and the VIN number had rusted away So all in all a massive shit experience but then again nothing else can be said about jeep ownership.

  24. I have seen a few in my times. Would not recommend as a dedicated off-roader. I have to agree with everyone here and say if you have one and try to use it for newbie and Fewbie drives only to determine if you want to take it up as a more serious sport. I remember a Fewbie drive once in the Pink Rock area and playing in some lazy bowls. I had to deflate the 2005 Liberty to 8 PSI and I was literally standing on the gas pedal to get it out of its misery. The owner sold it the very next day and bought a TJ which he is still enjoying today.

  26. The Bronco would come already with a twin turbo so adding a bigger one would be less hassle than going with super charger. I agree super charger is better but we don't know the real peak performance of this engine since manufacturers will always play it safe let's not under estimate the 2.7 https://youtu.be/YNLXbF0N-2Y

  27. I don't know have that much of knowledge of engines and mechanical stuff but from a design point of view they are all amazing! I'm speechless about Bronco 2-door and 4-door I think having a civilized version of Bronco which is Bronco sport is brilliant! It's a good product placement. So Ford is not only targeting heavy off-roaders but also people like offroad enthusiasts or cross country people or mall crawlers (The same way of using LR4). Yet it is still a Bronco. It may sell a lot in Europe. But my heart is with 2-door Bronco.

  30. When purchasing my last Geolanders, a shop in Al Quoz was pushing me towards Mastercraft Courser tyres, which are a side-brand from Cooper. I was hesitant as the price seemed attractive but never heard of the brand. Later on i saw @Xaf having them on the Landcruiser if i remember correctly.

  31. They’ve discontinued it , the new A/T Model supersedes it. even if you get a dealer selling the ATS be careful, as it will be an old tyre and worse still it may not be authentic

  34. @Nayan ShenaiI ordered baofeng uv 5r from amazon .( along with some other items I needed which were not available on amazon ae)Link below, and they ship to Dubai. Very minimal price difference I think https://www.amazon.com/BaoFeng-UV-5R-Dual-Radio-Black/dp/B007H4VT7A/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?keywords=baofeng+uv5r&qid=1583216501&sr=8-3

  35. Hi @Nayan Shenai both are very good radios but the Kenwood will be more difficult to program from what i have seen and read. The Baofeng UV-9R will probably be easier to program as Baofeng has lots of enthusiast users with Youtube tutorials. Also batteries and accesories are easier to find for Baofeng radios.

  36. @Michael sammy with regards to your interference issue on Channel 02 (446.03125). I tried last night with my wifey's 2008 3.8 Pajero but did not notice any interference. We can have a look together on next drive, or send me some pics of your radio set to that frequency.

  40. the launch itself was not that good apart from him fighting gravity and worsening his fishtail situation other then that all was good

  41. Seems like that driver wants to avoid that guy in front by going a little right and then entered the slip face and then while steering left and up he fought the gravity on soft patch resulting in a flip. However, the driver reaction after the flip tells another story: Either he is too happy to be alive Or did it on purpose (i doubt) Anyways lesson for bystanders that never come in between the path when someone is doing sideys (side sloping) as you never know what counter-action driver take in a spur of the moment which may result in a hazardous outcome.
