  2. Hope you are all doing well and ready for tomorrow's adventure.

Please bring a camping chair if you have one, as while taking a break, we can sit down and do the skills briefing with a demo car in a beautiful landscape.

We will end the drive at a fuel station to inflate, to save time if you have an air compressor please bring it along (not mandatory).

Please find your convoy numbering, we will use Radio Channel 3 (for those who have it). For the rest, we will carry spare radios with tuned frequencies.

  4. Hello All, hope you are all doing well and ready for your first sand experience on 16 March, Sat.

While I'm equally thrilled to host the first Ladies-only Absolute Newbie drive and took some time to get you all personalized advice based on the vehicle you drive.

    Wrangler owner: @sophiedana @Emma @Iqra Raheel @Bindi @Gráinne @Juanita @Alina Malakaeva

    • Start the car, move in neutral, and hold the brake.
    • Practice how to put the car in 4WD modes - Auto, Part-time and Low.
    • When 4WD light blinking = engaging, solid = engaged it might take a few seconds to get engaged. If it doesn't, try 2H and back to 4H again or drive the car a couple of meters forward or backward to wake up the 4WD system.
    • Press the traction switch for 5 or 7 seconds until you see ESC OFF. if you don't see ESSC OFF its fine that means your car has a single-press traction disable switch which only lights up one orange light in the dashboard.

Please feel free to ask any question here, if you experience anything different or unusual with your car 4WD system and traction control disabling. These two things are a must for all off-roaders and you should know this very well.

  7. For keeping your warranty, you have to get service from dealer, I'm 99% sure, but you can double check with Trading Enterprise.

For insurance everything is scam now, usually car is insured for stock condition only, all mods aren't insured unless you add them in the modification list which will shoot up premium. Whatever you do, get the same in writing as car insurance is no longer the same in the UAE.

    - Does she need to register on Carnity for this drive?

Yes please, and with that free ID she has to RSVP for this event.

    2 hours ago, Nicolò said:

    - She would be using my Jeep, you already have all the details about the car on my profile.

She still needs to fill in the details for your Jeep, as it will tie that info to her profile.

    2 hours ago, Nicolò said:

What other info would be needed on your side?

Just regular profile info fields, those are mandatory with an asterisk, including Emergency contact info.

    2 hours ago, Nicolò said:

    - I'd like to join her on this day, would it be possible for me to passively be there?

Most welcome, but rem you said it "PASSIVELY" here, so you don't distract her and be a good boy, lol.

  17. Yes for sure bad angle due to lift is the number one reason for driveshaft failure or fatigue.

Drive shaft failure was a known issue in the Jeep Wrangler JK models (not so much on JL) and those owners upgraded to heavy-duty aftermarket shafts. Terraflex, Rough Country, Hurricane and Revolution are some brands u can search on the same line if you need to spend 6k. They might cost u less.

  18. Welcome Ben,

Less used/abused Xterra would be better in the long run.

If you can't find a clean one, then Pajero 3.8 would do good with a little extra love and care. Rem to exclude 2009 - 2012 models Pajero that have gear upshifting (known issue). @Frederic correct the year range, if I am wrong, please.
