Will ask you same question after a year.

We all were same before but after spending time we learn to differentiate what we really value than just like.

I understand what you mean, but I am the type who was opening the window of the flightdeck when it is dark outside to see my engine starting, smell the burning kerosine, seeing the lightup, nice red/blue glow, hmmm, it is Christmas soon btw.

    But not anymore😇

Exactly thats why you mostly see diesel light vehicles from european manufacturers if not only European today. Even Japanese major car manufacturers have stopped production of diesel engine light vehicles. American manufacturers AFAIK never offered diesel variants other than some trucks and pickups with third party engines like Cummins.

I wonder how a diesel mustang or Cadillac would drive :D

Americans tried jet engined cars but they weren't very practical

Although Leno does have another jet engine car and bike.

    @desertdude

thanks for the video, didn’t know this car.

Also nice video from Chrysler, other manufacturers should do the same when they add new stuff to a car.

  3. Guys, the only reason why Diesel engines are performing so well, is that  the diesel engine was, with highlight to was (due to the law changes in europe) the best selling variant of the model because of the price of diesel.

So companies started to develop the diesel engines to meet the performance of the petrol. Just imagine all the whistles and bells of a modern diesel in all petrol engines.

In 1890 there was already an electric car with benz in 1885 having a combustion engine powered car.

It was the lobby of oil companies that made our life dependent on oil.

Diesel engines have a higher compression ratio, more torque at a lower rpm, so ideal for big engines like tanks, boats, generators, busses, trucks. The lifetime and durability of an diesel engine is in general longer the a petrol, but the design and production is more expensive then a petrol.

I can continue and continue about different engines, jet engines, les rotating parts compared with a combustion engine, thats why we want them in a plane. Low maintenance, durability, but super expensive.

But to come back, a simple diesel engine without a turbo vs a petrol engine in a car?

I know which one I’ll choose.

    @Shamil @Atif @Brette @AKR @Fuad @Halit Mert Issever @Julien V @Xaf

    What do you guys think?

Steering wheel is at the wrong side!!

What I would have done different:

    To start with the LC200,
-Deflate tires, unload the car (detach the trailer), try to get out first by yourself  (4L, all Diff Locks if available on), Check if chassis is free, if not, start shovelling. If possible to get out, make a track by driving forward, backwards to compress the sand. If sure that the car not gets stuck, drive back to pick up the trailer.

-If help is needed to get out; ask someone else instead of this dude to snatch you out. Same principle for the tower, before pulling the LC200, deflate tires, make a track before pulling you out.

  5. A nice afternoon drive, only wondering what's better for me... Because an afternoon drive invites for other things on Thursday evening...

@Emmanuel and @FredericThanks for the lead. Got a few refusals and with help from @Rahimdad I got myself out with the rear diff lock and a few other moments where he guided me with some techniques.

Beautiful landscape with the sunset coming in, sharing the desert with other petrolheads.

Have some nice video footage. Tried to put in a 4 minute video. Hopefully it is not too boring to watch.

Hopefully you had a nice weekend, see you next time!

  6. I get flashbacks of my journey to find an adapter. Honestly, I gave up. Can't give you a direction where to go for this adapter.

I can tell you though that at, Dragon Mart, Ramy, and a few screw and bolt stores they couldn't help me.

If you find somebody or a shop, please share it with us, you were not the first and will not be the last who is searching for this.

  7. A friend’s sister found a job in Dubai for a grooming brand.

When I asked her what she does, it was the first time I’ve heard this “profession”, she is a digital influencer.

I asked, a what? Yes a digital influencer. I thought it was a joke, but I hear it more and more around me. Yes, social media is ruling the world.

Have you ever noticed that ENOC fuel station doesn't require you to punch the security pin?

I'm really clueless how, and concerned for safety to know more if someone is aware of any secret way to authorize credit card transaction without security pin or phone apps....?

If you give you your card, and the person makes a copy of both sides, he or she can do with it what she wants. Some banks have a verification for online transfers (after a certain amount), where you have to verify your transfer by a code that you'll receive after putting al your details (also the 3 numbers on the back).

    Better to pay cash.

  9. Just to clarify, all respect for the patience of the seniors. As I mentioned in my first trip report, I have respect for the safety, especially for the briefing. I have no critic against the structure or the performing of the club.

Only want to share my feelings, little bit open cards regarding my personality. Will start practice my yoga and meditation breathing exercises again to find my patience. 🧘‍♂️

Looking forward to drive again with you guys, see you on the 6th!

  10. Good morning everybody, was a bit busy last days. In the meanwhile I've been 2 more times again to Pink Rock. Once on the same evening, man what a show on a Friday evening!!! The day after to show the sunset to my girl.

Thanks again for the drive @Srikumar @Rahimdad @Atif. Thanks for the feedback @Rahimdad, this is why we come to get feedback and improve.

Rahimdad was curious why I got a few refusals, to be honest now, and I hope you understand my viewpoint; I had the opportunity to be the sweep. I found the drive very easy and this is my character; when I get bored, or loose my patience I go to make it myself more interesting. Because I am at the back, I don't need to behave for the one that's driving behind me, so I can make it myself more challenging.

Probably I will be shot down now by the seniors of my behaviour that safety goes first and also when you are at the back you have to drive in line with the convoy. I all understand this, trust me, but this is just my character.

In all fairness, I hope that the drives will be more separated in levels. I see that a lot of guys are upgraded to a fewbie level.

Also give the person the chance to go quicker to a next level drive. If you don't feel comfortable with it, let the person do some exercises, like, crossovers, sidesloping, shovelling, towing, etc etc.

I am just thinking out loud, this is what I feel. This is my first offroad club experience, I have no idea how it goes in other clubs. But because I am getting bored now, I start looking to other clubs.

    Just my feedback!
