tyre burst

i bought my jeep grand cherokee in sep 2011. today just after 4 months, while driving on emirates road, one of the rear tyres burst. the brand as given during the car delivery was Kumho tyres. does anyone have any idea what could be the reason? i have enquired with the showroom guys and are awaiting their response

Thats very sad, hope you are doing fine. What i can probably guess would be really low pressure like in 20 - 25 psi and driving at 140kmph for constant an hour so would be enough to burst any tire. If tire was properly inflated, then it could be bad quality as Kumhos are korean (if i am not wrong) so cant expect japanese or US standard there. Lets see what trading enterprises build a story......!

thanks for the reply....i bought from western motors abu dhabi...they could not give a confident reply.....but any idea how is kumhos brand....usually you check the price and evaluate the brand....kumhos are the cheapest amongst its like brands eg toyo, bridegstone etc...

It is most prObably mnfg defect..also came with Michellin tyres..I didn't hv burst tires but had swelling like a bump on side of tyre afterb3000kms

Had it replaced by Al Ghandi
