For those happy to spend a bit extra on a quality compressor, but don't want to shell out on ARB, I bought a Mean Mother portable compressor from Ravon Offroad . On offer for 750AED, 3 year warranty, pulls 180 litres per min, and was delivered to my house next day. The thing is a beast.  Contact 055 311 1564.

and what abouyt dobinsons 170lpm? shold I sell it and buy 2piston Camel? 😃

ps. serious question!

the camel is faster than the dobinsons but far less reliable. Keep your Dobinsons. I have one too and very happy with it.

Just make sure you get used to the notion of securing and strapping any loose items in your vehicle. The drive on Saturday is smooth but in general you want to get into the habit of not having any loose items in your vehicle. Don’t worry about it for Saturday but it’s the habit and reflex of securing any moving object when you drive anywhere outside the tarmac. Well done and congrats on getting your gear !

  • Thank you all for signing up ! As mentioned on the drive post, this will be a scenic leisure drive, which combines some farm tracks with dunes, and sabkha crossings. The aim is to just enjoy the beautiful Marmoom conservation area and spot some gazelles, oryx, or camels (or whatever else we can find).
  • As the convoy is rather large, please be careful at the entry point where you cross the bicycle track. Please park on the sandy patch and not on the bicycle track itself. Beware of the cyclists passing by.

  • Upon arrival you can deflate to 14-15psi. Please approach any of us or the support members in list above to help you out with deflating if this is new for you.
  • We will use the radio channel 4: 446.081Mhz as our comms channel once we are driving. Please program your radio beforehand or you can just enter the frequency on your radio. In doubt we can help you out.
  • If you are new to deflating, please make sure to arrive at least 15mins (6.45AM) prior to the meeting time. This will allow us to help you out without losing too much time.

See you all tomorrow morning fresh and sharp :)
