307 2005 power steering

Can anyone help. I have a 307 sw 2005. the power steering fails after 5 km, ok in a morning. I have taken the pump off and opened it, it looks perfect, however I read its a common problem.

I cannot afford the 3k Peugeot want for one, can I get it refurbished here, get a second hand one.

I have sourced a new one in UK for 250 plus airfreight ?

I still need to program it then.

Can it be anything else ???

also in need of new windscreen, doubt car is worth it in this market.
