Hello. I really appreciate that drive. I was more confident, and refusals are not issues, you just have to make a turn, and start again. I would like to thank all the team for their kindness and their professional help, and Atif for his canteen. I would like to say more but my english is a bit unsure. See you next time.

Wow, maybe seems a but short now, but it was an amazing drive. The best part is all met in good time. I would like to thank @Gaurav bhai for putting ink to paper as there is so much knowledge to share that if it's not in writing some important information might be lost. Also this document will help all members as they grow within the club and post their own Absolute Newbie drives. After a quick deflation we were off with total of 8 cars. I am impressed with the newbies as some difficult area which I felt would be somewhat of a challenge was very well managed by them. As we approached close to Pink Rocks we noticed a Nissan Patrol crested and along with @EmVarlet I headed to the rescue. When we arrived there they were actually struggling with a pop-out. At this point I called @Gaurav bhai for help. After trying to pop the tire back in on the crest we asked them to bring the car down. As the brought the car to level ground we continued our efforts. The best suggestion came over the radio as @EmVarlet headed back to the group waiting for us. My hats off to @Asif Hussain, @EmVarlet and @Atif bhai to take responsibility and take @Frederic Nuyttens , @Julien V and @Jayakrishnan around instead of waiting for us. After useless efforts to pop the tire back in, we left our tools with them with a suggestion to take the tire to Tawi Nizwa shops and get it fitted and return us the tools after the drive. At this point we headed back to the group with smiles on everyone's faces. Within very little time and no trouble we were at our beloved Pink Rocks. We each had a go to reach the top and was approached for help by a dune buggy which had broken down. The person was a gentleman to agree to my request of having snacks and leaving in about 30 minutes and waited patiently in his buggy. At this point @Atif bhai opened his canteen and we shared different snacks from all which was absolutely fantastic. To top it off was the tea from @Atif bhai which was amazingly refreshing. At this point we packed up and helped everybody out along with the buggy. The gentleman was extremely thankful and we had a debrief, inflated and left with the exception of @Gaurav bhai, @EmVarlet and @Asif Hussain who continued to take advantage of the excellent weather. It will be a unforgettable day in my life. As a new bie and very new to the carnity club , i have reached the Tawi Nazwa shops area with a ton of questions in mind. Whether it will be safe or not ? How i will drive in sandy conditions ? What i will do i got stuck ? Is it going to damage my car ?,,,,etc. But after having the first briefing it self , i was getting my confidence by seeing that things are handling in a very professional manner and the leaders are being gentle and approachable to any questions in my mind. A special thanks to MR @Rahimdadand Mr @Gaurav for making me and my friends comfortable to start with. The drive was absolutely stunning and a experience which i was waiting for many years. Not only for be but also my friends also were enjoyed it very much. The bond between the members are remarkable and by seeing that i am proud to be part of such a good team. Here’s my first nomination, the Hyundai coupe. Nice looking car. Looks like a proper fast sports car but in reality it’s a FWD Hyundai Accent with a V6 engine. A friend had one back home. Pretty decent car but the looks didn’t match what it was.

Well, to be honest, Emanuel asked us few times to take newbies for short spin but we were hoping to fix that strangers pop-out in 10 minutes. Things got real ugly when we realized that they have already moved the car quite a lot on a popped out tire to remove the seam from both sides and rubber lost its shape. We finally left them with our tools to let them figure out on how to pick the spare wheel lock as fixing the popped tire was FUBAR. I’ve had a few BMW M3s, E36s. 2 x M3, M3 Evo and M3 Evo Individual. I’ve had a couple of lesser model 318 and 325 too. All were flawless apart from one of the standard M3s which was a ball of dung, which was purely down to neglect by the previous owner. The Evo Individual had a Vanos issue but that was easy fixed with a cheap rebuild kit. If you want a BMW, buy one. People will say the brand is unreliable but if you believe everything you read on the internet you will stop driving cars and buy a bicycle. Sure they break down sometimes, just like any other car, but if you want a car with lots of extra features that’s the price to pay. People in uae rave about Japanese cars being the best thing since powdered milk and the most reliable thing next to a biryani from ravis. That’s because they’re simple, there’s nothing to go wrong. Engine, air conditioning and a radio. If everyone stuck wheels on their sofa and pedalled around, life would be no fun. Drive what you want to drive but make sure you buy a good, well looked after example and care for it properly. If the electric handbrake stops working, fix it. Otherwise go out and buy a Camry and be like every other boring taxi driver in Dubai. It’s not watching reruns of top gear that makes you a petrolhead, it’s going out and driving what you want to drive. Plenty of people have laughed at my car on here and other forums but I don’t care because it cost me under 10k and I know it would smoke many 100k+ cars.

After a few newbie drives, now it's time to have some different flavor of offroad drives. Let's explore the unexplored area and find the hidden love in the desert. We plan to have fewbie - intermediate level drive in the known but slightly unknown area. Depending on the participants, we will decide the level on the convoy from fewbie - intermediate accordinly. This is so true. ! Why buy something that is so common and which can be bought easily in your home country. Since we are here we should take advantage of the cheap petrol and the low cost of these beauties. Cos back home they would cost a fortune to buy and maintain as well.

Toyota GT86. There was so much hype about them being the next driftbus. Mrs B was a massive fan and came to visit me in the garage one day when she heard I had one in. We were both utterly disappointed. Sure, if you want to drive like a twat and hang off the handbrake it might drift but I wasn’t going to do that in a customers car. Further 86s I have driven have been equally disappointing. Mercedes A class AMG line. A Brabus it wasn’t. 1.3 Renault engine was truely disappointing.

It was a lovely drive and the flexibility of the senior team to quickly reschedule based on the events was a clear proof that this is an off-road club of members that genuinely care for each-other and take up responsibilities when asked. @EmVarlet @Asif Hussain took us newbies out for a wonderful drive while @Rahimdad and @Gaurav did what they do best: help others and spread the community core message of leaving no-one behind. Thanks guys you both gave us full confidence and guidance ! What i really admire in this off-road club is the family style approach and the lack of testosterone and braggers as you will find in many other clubs. Newbie Drive This is an easy-level off-road drive designed to help beginners get comfortable with the basic techniques of driving on sand dunes. Drivers will learn how to safely go up and down dunes, perform small side slopes (“sideys”) and rainbow arcs while driving in a convoy. The drive focuses on mastering throttle control and smooth acceleration while negotiating the dunes. Participants will also receive an introduction to ridge riding, side sloping, and crisscrossing broad dunes — all in a safe, controlled, and beginner-friendly environment. Who can join: Any Newbie or first-time member with a 4x4 vehicle having 8–10 inches of ground clearance and front & back tow hooks. Fewbie Drive This is a moderate-level drive where drivers will further develop and practice ridge riding, side sloping, and crisscrossing techniques on more challenging terrain. Participants will learn how to handle different dune situations while understanding vehicle limitations and working with gravity rather than against it. This level teaches drivers to become more calculated, disciplined, and technically aware, going beyond simply being a capable off-roader. The pace, terrain, and challenges are several steps above Newbie-level drives. Who can join: Any Fewbie and above level off-roader. Fewbie Plus Drive Fewbie Plus is an extension of the Fewbie level, designed for more experienced Fewbie off-roaders who want to tackle greater challenges at a faster pace and with increased technical difficulty. This level serves as a bridge between Fewbie and Intermediate drives, helping off-roaders transition smoothly while building confidence, control, and technical driving skills. Who can join: Any Fewbie Plus and above level off-roader. Intermediate Drive This level combines and refines all previously learned skills on more technical terrain and smaller, sharper dunes that demand precision, vehicle control, and advanced driving techniques. Drivers will also be introduced to larger dunes and learn how to safely navigate and connect dune lines while maintaining momentum. Intermediate drives require a high level of discipline, patience, awareness, and consistency, all while driving at a significantly faster pace than Fewbie-level drives. Who can join: Any Intermediate and above level off-roader.

Since a few days this lovely Japanese green devil is parked and left abandoned in our community. It belonged to one of the neighbours but they seem to have disappeared overnight. Is this a 240SX ? It needs a front bumper and quite some parts seem to be missing but i wonder about the value and it makes my heart bleed to see this standing here. I can only assume fixing this up is gonna cost quite some Dirhams due to the availability of the parts.

That's what I always say, live a little, if you are not going to have a snazzy car here in the UAE then when and where?!

Totally agree with Barry, on ask yourself if you wish to have 400 hp than 300, trust me more hp is super fun at a lot of times. However, knowing your 200 km daily I will advise you to research on "real" fuel mileage of both cars and go with whichever is cheaper if that is a concern for your overall financial equation. If you don't care the fuel consumption or paid by the company - hell yes to 400 hp ANYDAY. And yes 10K driven is nothing if its still under warranty with the Arabian Automobiles.

Hey think my opinion has a little credibility here, remember I'm from a Land Rover Range Rover background, you know the ones every one says are the least reliable and most expensive to maintain! If I say BMWs are shyte. That's gotta hold some weight. And whole and sole disagree with Saleem on Euro brands being good for 4-5 yrs here. My current European car is 16yrs old and 220k kms on the clock and still has a lot of life left in it. And stop giving bad advice to your customers. The warranty is by tye manufacturer not dealer. Sure the local dealer makes noise at first and gives you stories but in the end he has to honor the warranty ot else you get directly in touch with the manufacturer. I know couple of cases where guys imported new cars from abroad. The local dealer made some noise at first and then even charged 2-15k to open a "file" fpr that car since they didn't sell it but after that car had same warranty as car sold by them. Which was 5yrs unlimited mileage.

It’s a S14 200sx. If you want it, buy it. The majority of engine and transmission parts are available here. If you need something else like body parts you can get it online. If you love the car enough you can wait 2 weeks for parts. Rocket Bunny body kits are available and are cooler than a field with 40 sheep. Like I said to @Binsaloom there aren’t enough JDM cars here. If you get the chance to own one and follow through, true petrolhead status is automatically granted. It might not be worth a lot of money. People don’t appreciate cars here unless it costs half a million or has a Camry or corolla badge but rest assured you will be one of the coolest mofos on the road and get invites to all the underground meets.

10k is nothing. I’ve bought cars with 3-400k on the clock and they have been fine. Ask yourself if you want the 3 or 400 bhp model and why. The 400 bhp model would be fun but will you use that extra 100 bhp? If you’re just commuting then it’s pointless. If you’re going to street race then it makes sense. 300 bhp is a lot. You can make good progress and accelerate to overtake anything at legal speeds. What are you planning to do with 400 bhp?

bmws and mercedes rovers audis vws porsches are for cold climate they have a bad time adjusting here they are good only for 4 or 5 years after that all hell breaks loose i had one guy he imported his merc s600 and when i told him that he needed to remove the gear to fix the converter leak he was like this is a new car it has warranty and i told him the warranty is in germany not here and you have to fix it yourself ghargash won't do it for free as they have not sold it to you...and later on the auto close feature of the rear and driver door broke that also he fixed here its actuator is really delicate it just breaks if door is handled harsh as of late the issues of leaks oil, air or even coolant usually pops out in mostly newer cars in places which is usually unheard of in older cars
