Cannot leave a drive like this without a post-drive message! @Gaurav massive thanks for the trip! You trying to 'down-sell' the drive didn't work for our sign ups but maybe some other groups read that, as it felt we had Iftar bowl as our playground for near 45 mins with minimal interruption!! Immensely grateful to @Brette and @Hisham Masaad as i can fully understand why this area is usually the domain of FB+/Int, so many potentially opportunities to split convoys and forced re-routes etc. None of which happened today and much of that is to the quality and discipline of convoy but also these two in support! Amazing performance by everyone! not a single driver (either 1, 2nd or more attempts) was left without concurring the bowls and i learnt so much watching you all and appreciate @Gaurav marshalling us to the top and down safely each and every time!! @munkybizness special shout out to you, having learnt after the ride the experience you had near 10 years ago!!! Even more impressive that you kept re-attempting each time taking the council of the leads and getting to the top! onwards and upwards for you now! The suspension test track for a few KMs was a brilliant end to a great morning and we were all envious of @James Thorn with his air suspension at that point! hats off to all the drivers - I got a lot of confidence and learning watching you all as it has helped me out of my comfort zone (i have previously avoided drives with big climbs ) I tried to get a few pics of each and every car ( gallery ) at Iftar Bowl See you all on the dunes soon!

Hi Im running with the Michelin LTX Force not really tested that much in the region , but has great Australian reviews. When I was less experienced @Gauravcommented on them being very good. Since then I have driven a lot in them on and off the road and have a very high opinion of them. On road: They are quiet do not feel like an off-road tire / all terrain tire with fantastic grip in the rain and also dry dusty roads. I feel very safe with them at any speed. Really remarkable for an AT tire. Off road: I run the psi at 10.5 when off roading and yet to have had a pop out, they have a high soft side wall which provides excellent grip and surface area in the sand and honestly I have no traction issues in the slightest. I would not run with any other tire now for and all rounder I feel safe and happy on them on and off the road. Another benefit is that they are a lightweight also , and in tests have proven to keep the tread over excellent mileage. My only concern has been on our wadi adventures in Hatta due to the soft side wall and potential punctures but here I run the tire at 18-20 psi to combat this. No one seems to have mentioned them here but I would highly recommend. If you want a big gnarly looking cumbersome off road tire and are concerned on looks I wouldn’t choose these. In all honesty though they are a great AT tire that most importantly due a job and allow me to feel safe while doing it. Oh I drive on a 275/70/16 don’t go larger on the tire size 275 is perfect for our car. This experience I take from Avid Patrol drivers . 285 is suited for too the two door patrol , but on the 16 inch patrol rims 275 are perfect and provide a great and sufficient tread pattern . Unless of course you are turning your patrol into a monster truck

It is always a pleasure to see the enthusiasm and dedication that you also show at the drives. We actually started the drive nice and slow to get warmed up for the some more intense actions later in our route. It was great to see that you all were doing great and so the drive could be scaled up accordingly. As we moved up to some taller dunes, @Jason Grima had the first refusal due to the tyre pressure that was reduced further to lower PSI so that he could give a successful attempt to that bowl since there was not much space for trials. Unfortunately, @Jason Grima had to be exited to the 2nd December cafetaria because his passenger was not feeling too well which can happen to anybody and we completely understand that. I would like to thank the whole convoy for your understanding and cooperation as safety and health safety are paramount. We then continued our way enjoying the bowls towards the play areas of the pink rock whereby @Pierre de Maigret had a few refusals and which he cleared under the guidance of @Looper. Once we reached the play areas, we found that it was a bit churned up but we could actually find our track to do some nice loops. Everybody had their chance and they all did very well. In the second half of the drive, we enjoyed some great bowls and climbs with the dunes towards the big red. A few refusals encountered which were very handled and successfully cleared at another attempt. There was lots of traffic around that area especially buggies and safari guys which we had to be mindful of; it was safer to stop few ties to let the traffic clear the vicinity. I hope that all of guys enjoyed the drive. As it was getting dark, we started to head towards the exit and i thought would be great idea to have a go at a last play area which i attempted first to check if it was doable in the dark. And it was actually turned out to be fun though it was churned up, it was fantastic to see you guys at that last play area. Well done to the team and you guys rock. I would like to extend my special thanks to @Abdul Rafay-S for being an excellent second lead and to @Looper and @Danish Mohammad for their support to the drive and assist with recoveries. Drive Report: Great to see all members signed up arriving ahead of time, deflating and prepping ready to go . We had a quick briefing, very interactive one and off we headed into an area - Area 53 which is generally explored by more experienced members. I had the blessing of some excellent support by @Veedooshee (2nd lead to perfection), @Alex Raptor, @M.Seidam and @marks who were fantastic in advising and assisting the refusals and a pop out fixed in record time. Always great to catch up with few of them whom I met after a really long time. Thank you for your support friends!🙏 We at Carnity never encourage any businesses or garages , and especially on drives at the meeting, during the drive or exit points. Please bear in mind that at public places when someone approaches you for this, take it with caution as it is beyond my or support members control at times to avoid this. We had a slow start into some areas which warmed you all up, probably a bit too much for your car @YazGayed. Really sad to see that leak from your radiator , due to which you had to exit early. Till then you drove and did some wonderful self recoveries. We would like to see you back on sands soon. @MANOJ NAIR recovered his Pajero from a tricky side stuck situation beautifully under the able guidance of @M.SeidamOnce back with the convoy after exit, we explored heading towards the bigger dunes and bowls to get a feel of what was about to come as you progress in your drive levels. We had more refusals there and at one point @Alex Raptor presence of mind to hold back the convoy immediately was fantastic as I had to loop back coming down from a soft churned up dune . After @Veedooshee cleared these , the 3rd @Joji varghese and 4th @eldose babyhad refusals there . Great to see you both recovering well from that soft patches by some quick steering maneuvers and gear changes . @Joji varghese you bought back memories of another friend @Jolly Abraham who drives a 4 cylinder 2.7 Fortuner beautifully. We all did some practice in a small , not so steep bowl to get a feel of what you will be doing more often in future . Keeping the pace and using the momentum is the key. The three patrols (Y62 monsters) stacked up showed hardly any issues , wonderful to see how you all managed so well @salah2u, @Hilal Sharafudeen and @Mohamad Anwer. @Rsjiv Samuel, @Alfred Alinazar and @Senthil Kumar driving at the back managed well considering the fact they were on churned up sands. @marks ably guided cars in front of him who needed some assistance in self recovery. All the situations - softer sand, bowls , refusals, stucks , self recoveries, size of dunes , bowls and everything we did on this drive increase tremendously in proportions , effort, concentration needed and the intensity for you and your car as you progress through the levels ahead of Newbie for more adventures and thrilling drives with Carnity. We encourage you all to enjoy the journey learning slowly , improvising and progressing in your levels. This is a hobby and we all want you to learn it in the safest possible manner. Thanks @Wrangeld for another enjoyable drive through the dunes, it's always challenging to navigate the Raptor through the technical dunes but always very rewarding to manage it successfully. Thanks @Ale Vallecchi and @Hisham Masaad as always for the support throughout the drive, I think I have driven with @Hisham Masaad more than any other person in Carnity and everytime its enjoyable. Echo your thoughts on the wider group and the growth you can experience, having only been a member since April its been an enjoyable journey so far and looking forward to it continuing. Big thanks also for putting on a Saturday drive, with the new sports season for the children starting escaping on a Friday is going to be very difficult so good to see Saturday drives being hosted.
