Dear Desert Wanderers, this RSVP is now closed. Please find below the convoy order for our drive: @Mus_hus78, @Hasan Wahlan, @Farouq Owdeh, @Rizwanm2, @Ruan van den Heever@Xavier Treasurer, @JeromeFJ, @M.Seidam, this drive is going to be thrilling and exciting, but also very demanding from a technical point of view, both mentally for the drivers and mechanically for the cars. It will require your full and undivided concentration at every step, especially when we will reach elevated positions on steep slopes, so make sure you come well rested and hydrated and that and you don’t have any reason for being distracted. Also, please consider carefully if you wish to bring passengers along with you. Thank you so much @Janarthanfor the wonderful drive this morning! It was the perfect way to break my sand sabbatical. It was great to see some familiar faces out there too, @Abdul Rafay-S throwing that yellow peril about like a boss, I bet your dad was bricking it haha, we had @TT_Dubaidoing what he does, executing the perfect 2nd lead as @Janarthantook the hits for us and rerouted so we'd all stay safe and then @Nikiearning his 'support' stripes, digging, tugging and calmly and efficiently guiding everyone who had a refusal or stuck. It was nice to see some new faces too, @Enrico Biscaro and @Hilal Sharafudeen who had fantastic drives in their first fewbie outing and @Gilbert Khalilwho drove impressively with a great self recovery at the end. Thanks for being a great convoy! So much fun! And it's nice sitting at the back because I get to relax and watch you all. 🤩

Dear Frédéric, Thank you for the list update. Ki day note, I will be driving another car tomorrow other than my usual Nissan Patrol which I have not driven offroad before. The car I will be driving is a Land Cruiser short wheel base, pls find attached picture of the car. Kindly let me know, should feel my drive reconfiguration needs to be reshuffled. Great sunrise drive from 2nd December cafe ending up at Big Red. Nice tight group and the entire morning was smooth. We had a fair share of climbs, nice elevation changes and criss crossing on some tech dunes. Once the drive racheted up towards the end we had a couple of refusals, a crest, a few stucks and a pop out. Most of the refusals were nicely self recovered under great instructions from @Foxtrot Oscarand @Niki. Thanks also to @Janarthan for leading a superb drive 😀 Fantastic to meet everyone as usual! Thanks @Mehmet Volga for leading a great drive today. It must have been one of the 'slowest' I have ever been on by way of dozens of refusals and stucks! I do believe that we learn something from every one of these events and I for one, learnt to not take a 'little crest' for granted lol! Thanks team for the shovel work and in the end, the gentle tug to get me mobile again. Thanks @Veedoosheefor being so busy at CF. You were buzzing around like a wasp here there and everywhere advising/chatting/instructing and generally sheperding us cats. @Ben84I did not see you much but I could hear you back there sweeping away and doing good works, thanks for supporting us so well. To everyone else, this drive was one of the most taxing I have been on and to see such fantastic spirit and teamwork fills me with pride. We truly are a great club. Thank you all and see you next time!

Excellent ride. Yes it was slow at the beginning due to refusals but the finale ( more like the second half) was sizzling. Both the need for speed and for ridge riding were well satisfied. @Mehmet Volgathanks for organizing and pushing through to the end. Thanks @Veedoosheefor your support and ever presence. @Pierre de Maigret it was fun driving close behind you; I wish I had a hood cam to document side slopping and three wheeling (suction tripod for video cam ordered from Amazon already).. Was a great morning out, professionally led and co-led, you guys did an awesome job of keeping us all safe and on track. The plan is to start in Mahafiz, which is an area that looks quite lush and green with lots of vegetation, but beyond that vegetation you will find one play area after the other. Once we had our fill in that area, we will move on to Faya, which is known for its size and challenging bowls surrounding it. We will be using Channel 1 for our communication: 446.006 Mhz. Please tune in when you arrive and start deflation. Please make sure to bring your Offroad gears. Without a flag you wont be allowed to join us. See you guys tomorrow ! I will be driving the Big Blue Pajero (Vanessa's car) as mine is in the workshop for some small repairs.

Great drive today guys! Thanks a lot to @Kailas and @Dodi Syahdar for the tremendous help. My first time in this area and it was a great learning experience Special shoutout to @Archibald Jurdi, managed very well despite the tyre problems, great skills Also @Naveen Raj for your first fewbie plus drive, you handled all obstacles really well. Will make sure to come drive with you in Abu Dhabi at some point

Just to give u heads-up of this LC70, my personal fav 4x4. Short and nimble than your Patrol so you don't need to plan things half a km ahead. Ready for short unexpected change of plan/thinking - on the fly. You will feel every dune - bump, bush, dimple and crest - loud and clear. Absolutely NO creature comfort so you might have a sore back if Patrol cocoon cabin have spoiled you. You will feel real meaning on 4x4 tomo how each wheel spins with raw power than electronic/computer advisory. In short you might like it or hate it, depending on what you value the most. If its pre-2018 then its more crude as I heard after 2018 Toyota added tiny bit of comfort in these models. Pre-2012 was absolute bone-shaking models.

An awesome drive and new experience as compared to Qudra. Loved the climb to pink rock and learnt a great deal. Tq @Gaurav and team to keep us safe.

Post Drive Report A delayed and then delayed a bit more start meant we suffered from even softer sand than usual in an area reknowned for soft sand. This was not an easy newbie drive, but then I preadvised that it would be a challenge - and it was. This was a technical drive. The dunes are not large, but do require finesse and care. The technical dunes are not that short or challenging, but they are very very soft. There are not a lot of play areas, requiring everyone to remain at the top of their game throughout the drive. In my view we did not have a high number of refusals or stucks taking the terrain into account, the length of the convoy and the fact that concentration was already impacted by the delayed (twice) start. The newer the newbie today, the more impressive your performance - truly. We did not have any criss crossing, or ridge riding, or any real slide sloping. What we had was large sections of the drive where everyone had to focus on following a complicated route, cross a lot of dunes straight over and rise to the challenge of driving along the top of the dunes. @Alex Raptor you pretty much saved the day. Popouts handled in record time, and epic winch manouvre, sorting out all the refusals along the way. Your baptism of fire on your deserved promotion. @Jeepie wonderful to have you back in the sand, calmly sorting out everyone at the back of the convoy. @Alain Canivet-Abikhalil perfect 2nd lead. Avoided all the pit and pratfalls that I might have made. @Ramandbx sorry you got locked out buddy. @Senthil Kumar hope the grinding noise gets sorted. Some absolute massive additional kudos points to mention: Perfect convoy discipline and great radio usage today. Thanks everyone. It makes it so much easier when everyone complies. Good team work. Thanks for supporting where needed. There is a fewbie drive in this area tomorrow. That says all the newbies need to know about the standard today. We don't normally take newbies here. I am so glad to be part of this amazing convoy of seasoned off-roaders, it was a huge learning experience for me by just observing how everyone handled the obstacles and rode ridges. Thanks and really enjoyed the drive with you all.

With the tremendous increase in the number of COVID cases in the UAE, we all have to be responsible while off-roading. Failing to abide by any single precaution at any time during the drive, will result in an immediate ban from Carnity Off-road Club. ZERO TOLERANCE First offender - 1 Month Ban. Second offender - 3 Month Ban. Third offender - lifetime ban and report to authorities. COVID19 PRECAUTIONS 2.0 All Carnity off-road drives will be LIMITED to driving only: No Socializing and gathering allowed at any time. No break for taking photos, breakfast, smoking, etc. No exchanging of off-road or recovery gears. Wear a mask at all times, while outside your vehicle. For passengers restrictions, follow RTA or NCEMA guidelines. All passengers should be inside the car, at all times. Maintain a minimum of 2-meter social distance at all times. Sanitize your hands and recovery gear after use. PS1. If you and your passenger cannot sit inside your vehicle for 3-4 hours please DO NOT JOIN CARNITY DRIVES. PS2. A Member who has RSVP the drive is RESPONSIBLE and LIABLE for their passenger's compliance. PS3. The above precautions apply to everyone irrespective of their vaccination status or schedule. PS4. You can confidentially submit the photo of any offender by sending an email to [email protected]. How to comply Read the drive post before arriving at the meeting point, so that you know your convoy numbering and radio channel. Arrive at the meeting point and switch on your radio to the pre-set frequency of the drive. Stop your vehicle at least 10-20 meters away from each other. Deflate your tires, while wearing a mask, and then go back inside your car. All briefings will be done on the radio now, so pay full attention to a briefing for your own safety. After the briefing, fall in your convoy position just before the drive starts. While driving if you get stuck, announce on the radio and be inside your car at all times. Trip lead and/or support will guide you on the radio for self-recovery or tow-rope recovery. While there is a stuck or a refusal, everyone else supposed to be inside their car at all times. You can only take a bio-break during the drive, by requesting trip lead permission. Once the drive is over exit out to inflate by maintaining 10-20 meters distance from each other. While inflating, only the driver supposed to be out and with the face mask at all times. After the drive, you can talk on the radio for any feedback, suggestions or help you need.
