Mandatory rules for Liwa Crossing (exceptional) drive. Considering its seriousness to keep you and your vehicle safe, these strict rules will be applied to all participants. If you are newly promoted (1-2 drives), then select one level lower drive than your current off-road rank. If you were away on a long break (more than 2 months), then select one level lower drive than your current off-road rank. It is highly recommended to drive alone, as it's a very serious and demanding drive to stay focused at all times. Maximum of one passenger allowed - No exceptions and trip lead will send you back. Make sure that passenger has no fear of heights, motion sickness and have been to full-day off-road drives before. As once we enter the desert, the only way out is from the other side, without any early exits for 100-150 kms. Everything in your car should be strapped and secured - All vehicles will be checked by the trip lead.14 points

Absolutely agree with @Davie Chase. A very fast paced drive which made me think if @Hisham Masaad has already started training to see how fast he can take a convoy through semi technical areas to compete for next year Desert Champion contest. Enjoyed from start to finish. Despite the pace, the soft sands, cross tracks the convoy performed very well. The CF @Looper could enjoy his drive as everybody drove well with minimal refusals and ZERO stucks which shows the strength of the convoy in negotiating such terrain. Everybody from the 2nd lead @Joji varghese, @Junaid120120, @topgear, @Rsjiv Samuel, @Davie Chase, @Sunil Mathew, @Chris Wing, @Daniel Yang drove with finesse to the leads satisfaction. See you all soon in the sands. Some pictures posted in the gallery for all of you to enjoy.5 points

Another rockin' drive from the guru of speed @Islam Soliman A tight group, great spirit, lots of refusals, beached whales and more shovelling than a Brit Prime Minister trying to save his job. @JeromeFJyou are the Tugmaster for sure. You pulled more guys off ridges today than I have ever seen before (maybe you should just leave the rope attached and wrap it around your bumper between tug jobs to save time?) @Naveen Rajwho knew a 3.0 5 door could do what you made her do today? Awesome job bro @munkybiznessyou made that big bird fly, its just the awkward landing that made a pop noise If this drive wasn't the best drive EVER, it's only because next weeks could be even better...5 points

Dear Friends @Zixuan Huang - Charlie @Charbel @Anoop Nair @Gok Krish @Amir Amiri and @Ranjan Das Good day and hope every one is ready for a blast loop tomorrow, speed is one of them but not all , control over tight manoeuvres with adaquate speed is the hallmark. Always in safe manner . Focus and attention is of paramount crucial while crossing and my knowing to all of you I am pretty sure your adrenaline is going to be steady 😅 through out .please always remember DO NOT FIGHT GRAVITY rule and let the momentum to take you to the next dune fast , not faster , and smooth 🙏 this is the meeting point and I added it to the drive topic as well . https://goo.gl/maps/vxyAajZzqgyjSvdJ9 please find the convoy numbering as below see you all tomorrow sharp by 0700 or bit earlier the better cheers 🙏👍5 points

The drive was smooth and nice. Really enjoyed. Thank you @Tbone for taking us to a fun and entertaining drive. I really liked the area where we drove today. Convoy was blessed with good vehicles and drivers. We had only few refusals. @Imteeaz really glad to see another Y61 performing very good in desert. @Brette Thank you for your support throughout the drive. It was really nice to meet all the participants and have a chit chat. Looking forward to drive with the same team🙂4 points

Thanks @Ahmed Wagdy for joining us today. The pleasure was all mine. Yes that’s correct, Fossil Rock has always been labeled as a protected area but since a few months they have completely closed it off for vehicles. Around that same time they found some archeological artefacts so they want to preserve the whole area (rightfully so). I do think for hiking it might be open but I’m not sure. Have a look at this pinpoint: Maliha Trekking https://goo.gl/maps/7zLZjf5snP8q36gw9 according to recent reviews it seems hikers still go there.3 points

Fantastic morning in the desert as always! It was a pleasure and privilege to be the last car on the convoy. Many beautiful sights of the convoy snaking through the dunes and little churn created ensured it was not too difficult for us the back. Thanks to @Gaurav and @varunmehndiratta for leading and supporting everyone! Some photos in the gallery for you all.2 points

I went there three weeks ago and made 180 Ks around over two days. The first day barely managed to pull 100. 100 Kms / day is feasible. 200 in a day is very unlikely, especially given the very soft nature of the sand there and the steeps climbs that will produce many refusals. Also is important to be clear about the potential damage to the bumpers. Both approach and departure angles are important to avoid damaging your car. Regarding the gas, I used a full tank + 45 lt in three rotopax jerry cans and finished with 1/4 tank. I have a 2 doors JK lifted with big tires, which makes me burn gas like hell. So, depending on your car and driving style it might be required the equivalent of another gas tank. Liwa is an amazing experience, not only because of the extremely beautiful terrain, but especially because it will challenge you (nerves, resolution, skills, teamwork to rescue team members on difficult stuck situations), and also the cars itself. I have gone twice and never get enough of it. If you love off-roading and have the skills and the right car, it is something you need to do.1 point

I'm finalizing the list. No dropouts yet.1 point

100 Liter of fuel will be needed for 6 Cylinder car 120-140 liter of fuel for 8 Cylinder. You will surely need two jerry cans of 20 L for liwa crossing. Yes, Arada to Hameem You will surely need two jerry cans of 20 L for liwa crossing.1 point

Thank you everyone for the great, quick response for letting us plan the required number of drives. Please note this poll is NOT your RSVP for the drive. All drives will go live as usual on Mon, 7 PM and RSVP will be based on first-cum-first serve as usual. From today till Monday if your house permission isn't signed, the car isn't ready, or any change in plan happens, please inform here so we can remove your poll, to have an accurate number of attendees to forecast the drives. Secondly, this will be a long, tiring, and very demanding drive, so please be ready for such a high level of fatigue and toll on the body with constant focus and high concentration. FEWBIE: Should have 5 Carnity Fewbie drive experience to be safe for such a level of intense and demanding drive. IMPORTANT NOTE: This is not a picnic, camping, bbq, family drive, so we expect a single driver in each car to make it as light and efficient for such tall dunes to avoid continuous refusals and stuck.1 point
