  2. Dear technical drive lovers ! Below quick drive summary : Thank you for joining and most importantly being on time ! Having immense experience of Murquab/Solar park, @M.Seidam as our SL was something that I couldn't have asked for more ! Thanks Doc for joining this drive and having you in convoy was very special ! With quiick, but detailed briefing, specific to FB level and specific to the drive terrain and plan, we started the drive about 7.30. Soon the convoy was offered with the challenges of testing their skills on maneuvering the interesting dunes of Murquab. We did encounter some vegetation which was nicely handled by the convoy. Overall, I must say it was very well done by the entire convoy. We all were well prepared for the next 4 hours of slow pace drive and it was indeed well executed. Thanks for keeping that extra one hour buffer and we exited just about 15 minutes ahead of time ( including the buffer;) ) The SWB guys at the front, @Ahmed Farouk @Renier Venter @Mahmut @Marek_was003 You guys did really well by your smooth movement. Specially the first 2, which was your first FB drive. @lucas amat - been long and good to see you what you do with your machine ! @Shiju Raju was a busy day for you but am sure lot of learnings from this one which you will cherish long time ! @Robk U continue to impress me with your LWB, specially in drives like this ! Am sure it was more easier today, since you had done part of this during Jingle Jungle drive :D! @Mahesh_ & @Gautam Banka - I hardly heard anything from you and well done ! Good to see you guys ! @essam ibrahim - I hope you enjoyed the drive and with every refusal/stuck you had a take away and more learnings ! You did well in handling the churned sand, despite those refusals you encountered! Well done sir ! @Imteeaz and lastly @Benjamin - Thank you for making it a relaxing lead for me, handling all those refusals with immense patience, absolute clear inputs to guys managing those refusals and helping with self recoveries ! Always pleasure to drive with you ! Below some interesting stats from today/s drive. ! See you all soon in Sand, and wishing you all a great evening and week ahead !

  4. Smooth and safe drive. Really enjoy. Thank you @JeromeFJ for the wonderful drive. We expected a lot of convoy because of some treasure hunt. But we also find some nice dunes to play and it was really nice. Convoy was really good. All are experienced drivers. Only a few refusals ( one is mine) @Joji varghese was amazing second lead, but due to some technical issues with his car, he has to leave the convoy early and his place and role was really covered by @Rajiv Sam. Amazing support by @Zed as center forward. I was following him and saw his jeep power (I already had a experience before) Sweep role was really fulfilled by @Amr Aydin . Most of the time radio was silent which showing the concentration and driving skills of the convoy. It was very nice to part of such convoy.

  6. Thank you DP and all the other fellows in the team for a fantastic drive. We all learned alot. @DP1011Now I understand that you meant "1 hour buffer" and not "1 hour buffet". I was wondering where's the bloody buffet when airing up my tires. It's ok, I ate alot of sand today😁. Enjoy your week everybody.

  9. Dear desert wanders @Patrick van der Loo, @Issam Atra, @Emmanuel, @george charbel, @Bjoern, @Gurcharan Mehta, @W a q a r, @Rafey Hashmi, and @Alphin Aloor first of thank you all for a fantastic drive this morning. everyone drove exceptionally well. A big thank you to: My Second Lead @Emmanuel you did a fantastic job if keeping enough distance to adhere to my call of slightly left or right or stop don't follow. so well-done mate was a pleasure to have you behind me. Our fantastic Sweep @Patrick van der Loo excellent job assisting with a few refusals at the back and helping me where I needed help, thank you and very much appreciated. Our Center Forward played a blinder as always taking control of the center of the convoy and managing the few stucks we had, as always @Imran Asghar a please to have you along and makes my life easier having you there. We had one incident that required so work to recover the vehicle, so a special shout out to @Gurcharan Mehta for putting the power of the 392 to good use in towing our stricken FJ out to the subcar and onward to the recovery point, we could nor have done the recovery so quickly without you. So an extra big thank you from me to you my friend and hope to see you with us in the sand very soon. @Issam Atra I hope you are feeling ok, and please remember that all that matters in these situations is that you are safe and sound and arrived home with your family. I hope you get everything sorted my friend and if i can help at all please do not hesitate to contact me. Hope that you all can enjoy what is left of the weekend. See you all again in the sand very soon.

  10. Dear Friends, great morning out in the sand today ! We managed to build a fluid convoy, flowing from one set of big dunes to another, riding the ridges, circling the bowls, climbing the big faces. We had a few challenges, starting by facing the rising sun, exactly in our eyes in the first hour, but also the beautiful contrast of climbing from a dark side in the shade, switching on a ridge to a bright sunny sand slope. Many cross tracks in some areas, but we could tick the big climbs of the Sweihan area. After the first hour, the sun was not a problem anymore, but the wind was rising, blowing sand everywhere, blurring the view for the crossings. At the summit of the Old Lady dune, it was impossible to see the actual ground, covered by the flying sand, and we dived directly into the steep descend. Unfortunately @Joji varghese had to leave us, his car deciding to go 2H only. In the last portion by Al Ain Airport, the big bowls were abused by cross tracks, and a motorbike/ buggy rally was in the way, but we managed to find nice virgin portions, steady climbs, before a fluid finish to reach the exit track. More than 70 km, average moving speed above 25 km/h, barely a few refusals, this is proof of the skills and focus of each driver, but also the cohesion we managed to build within the group. @Joji varghese @Mark B @Jaro Tuzinsky @Jona @Zed @Joseph Raju @Naveen Raj @Rajiv Sam @Amr Aydin, thanks again for joining today ! Enjoy the rest of the weekend

  20. Found the fuse. It was on the cigarette lighter end. Fuse was fine. Must be the innards that have gone kaput. Fixed it! You won't believe what it was. The end you plus the cigarette lighter too was rusted so I scraped it off and it works!!!

  23. @Rafey Hashmi what mount are you using for your GoPro on the hood? Is it magnetic? Any issues with it falling off? I see also you are using paper towel underneath to prevent scratches. What video settings are you using and are you happy with them? I am playing around with 4K, 2.7K, 1080, and 720 and still finding much noise and pixelisation here and there.

  24. It was truly a wonderful drive yesterday with a great amount of knowledge. Beginning section was a good technical part then @Davie Chase led us out of the forest making it a fun drive and @Simon D found playful side dunes where of course he had to steer down. Lastly @Rob S holding down desert lectures with full attendance from students. Also we should definitely open the first garage workshop in the middle of the desert. (Uploaded pictures in the gallery)

Cheers to @Rob S for getting me through my first refusal and the chat about it after and @Simon D for the digging lesson in that interesting stuck we had in the convoy. 28. Dear Desert Wanderers @Aser @Prithvi Raj @Hani Howeedy @Shaun J @Abdul Hannan @Rob S @Sandeep Nayar @Abdullah N @Harshal @Simon D Thank you all for allowing me to take the second convoy I thoroughly enjoyed our drive together on this beautiful Saturday afternoon. we had a bit of everything, start off we had a technical patch to contend with then the dreaded bushes, reared their heads and then some mid range dunes as we entered lisalli, which allowed us to practice sidies. you all drove amazingly well with only a few stucks and refusals great second lead by @Aser you kept a good distance to allow me time to call out left or right by X car widths or the don't follow command, you executed this with perfection which made the drive a lot smoother so well done and thankyou Thanks you @Rob S for coming in @center forward always a pleasure to have you support my drives as it relieves a lot of the pressure having someone as calm and knowledgeable in the middle of the convoy, thanks and appreciated. Our sweep for the day was @Simon D, hope your father enjoyed his day out with us he seemed to have a big smile on his face at the end. Great sweep my friend taking care of the rear of the convoy allowing me to focus on the lead. Appreciated and thank you. Have a great rest of your weekend one and all.
