  5. Please read carefully before you join this drive: Dune Surfers! This is an Adventure into the Unknown — a journey for those who truly love exploration, discovery, and the raw beauty of the desert. This weekend we embark on a exploration and recce drive in the Al Wagan region of Abu Dhabi, one of the most remote and least-explored desert areas in the UAE. Expect a long, tiring, and unpredictable adventure — this is not a regular weekend drive. The objective is to explore new routes, identify terrain characteristics, and locate access paths for future offroad drives. We will attempt to reach and explore the famous Star Dunes — rare natural sand formations that are truly breathtaking. Note: This drive may involve dead ends, fences, or sandstorms — we will adapt and navigate as a team. About the Star Dunes Star dunes are among the most spectacular and rare desert formations. They form when winds blow consistently from three or more directions, creating radially symmetrical, pyramid-like mounds with multiple arms radiating from a central peak. Unlike other dunes, star dunes do not migrate but grow vertically, making them some of the tallest and most stable dunes on Earth — a sight worth every challenge getting there! Participation Criteria To join this drive, participants must meet the following criteria: Completed at least one Intermediate drive in the past 3 months Have been actively off-roading in the past 1 month Fully equipped 4x4 in excellent condition This is a remote area, and recoveries or breakdowns could become serious safety concerns. Only well-prepared and experienced drivers should join. Pre-Drive Vehicle Checks Please ensure your vehicle is in perfect mechanical condition before the drive. It is strongly advised to: Take your car for a complete inspection to identify and fix hidden issues Check your spare tire (pressure and tread condition) Verify you have the necessary tools and jack to replace it if needed. Extra Fuel Jerry Cans ( 20 liters ) This region is extremely remote, and towing or recovery to a service track may not be possible in some situations. Prevention is your best safeguard. 6. Leading in the desert is one of the most rewarding off-road experiences — blending raw adventure, strategic decision-making, and real-time teamwork in a dynamic and unforgiving environment. In the Leaders Lead – Third & Final Session, you’ll put everything you've learned into action. After mastering convoy management and GPS navigation, this final challenge pushes you to apply your leadership skills in one of the most technical and demanding desert terrains in the UAE. This advanced session is designed to test your capabilities across three critical areas: Mastering Technical Dunes: You'll be leading through intense, no-go-level terrain, where every crest, bowl, and drop demands precise control, route planning, and advanced sand reading skills. This module focuses on driving judgment and maintaining convoy rhythm through the harshest dune structures. Adaptive Leadership Based on Convoy Performance: Learn how to dynamically adjust the drive level in real-time — scaling up when the team is confident and scaling down to ensure safety when needed. This teaches you to interpret convoy synergy, driving skills, and situational readiness without compromising the drive’s flow. Commanding Complex Recoveries: You'll face high-risk recovery simulations that test your ability to assess, lead, and execute under pressure. From stuck vehicles in side slopes to near rollovers, you'll learn how to orchestrate safe and efficient solutions using the right tools, communication, and leadership composure. 20. Well deserved @Asif Hussain ! You have been there from the start, and i have learned so much from you over the years. You belong in the sand and possess the skillset to take a full convoy and challenge them all the way from beginning till end. Even in extreme terrains like Liwa, there is no holding you back. You are one of the very very few that i would literally follow everywhere, having full faith you will get us in and out safely and with masterful planning. Hooray Hooray Hooray! Here's to many more blessed years with us!!

  24. Oh @Davie Smooth_Operator Davie... As much as i am happy to see Red Ruby found a new pilot @Pavito Al, we are all sad that you are leaving and hanging your desert hat on the hook (as we say in belgium). I fondly remember that first MC, where immediately i noticed your hunger for understanding all concepts around off-roading; not just becoming a very skilled driver, but embracing the entire concept of finding peace and solitude from surfing on some of the most beautiful dunes this country has to offer, and using your extensive leadership qualities to mentor and teach others along the way. We did one more MC a bit later, and it was already quite impossible to get you stuck anywhere. We just drove to the Chimney and back and you just grinned and asked for more 😁 Your first club drive came shortly after under the capable mentorship of @Islam Soliman in May2021: As you went along, the qualities you possess quickly came to the surface, and very soon we all felt we had a new up-and-coming star in our firmament to add to our existing Rockstar Carnity Marshals and Supporters. Bagging the Carnity DCT trophy was indeed another fantastic achievement that showed you were a force to reckon with: Not just by yourself but as a full team. We should have called you "Hayabusa Davie" like the peregrine Falcon (or the bike of course) Alas, unfortunately, nothing in life lasts, and just like when we said goodbye to Islam or Emmanuel, we know and understand that there will be a time that either you or us will be sitting somewhere one day, watching the sunset and fondly remember that all of us are connected through the soil, sand, or trees, wherever we are. Dubai has been good for you, but if you are in Spain or wherever you will land, it will be the same sunset that we will both be watching! Godspeed my friend. May we have many more blessed years watching the stars and dipping our feet in sands...
