  1. Let us break down with an explanation:

Simply find a "marketing text of iPhone X" in the form of an image in all the Carnity archive posts.

Simply find = search within carnity.com old topics and post, not on any other site

"marketing text of iPhone X" = It can be anything from 1-10 line TEXT (no image and no 1 word)

in the form of an image = It will be an image format so that you can't search with search box

in all the Carnity archive posts = It will be hidden anywhere in whole carnity 40,000 + posts

  2. @Barry as much as we really appreciate all your contribution and efforts, but this contest is to find the "marketing text of iPhone X" and not the samples provided for reference as an example of how that image will look like.

Secondly, when anyone finds that "marketing text" image posted by admin, then post that thread link here first to claim iPhone X.

Good luck to all, keep trying.

  3. Carnity fully supports the Earth Hour and already joined the movement on earth hour website: https://www.earthhour.ae/

Please join Earth Hour in any of the places in UAE listed on earth hour website and contribute in any way you find appropriate.

We have selected below 8 causes to support from carnity, except going electric ;-)

  4. Carnity desert cleanup drive has collected 1200 Kg of trash in one hour

This definitely calls for a warning for any desert goer to not to litter in the desert.

Please share this message with everyone you know to create more awareness and save precious wildlife that dies after eating these metal cans, plastic bags, foils and all kind of trash.

Authorities have made stringent laws but we all have to take charge as well to monitor and advice people around us.

Many thanks to all the supporters and volunteers to take part in this great social cause and understand it's real meaning:

    • Dubai Municipality
    • Ghost Tints
    • Paint Solutions
    • Al Ain Water

  6. Every year thousand's of wildlife in desert dies due to eating garbage left behind by regular off-roaders or visitors. We have seen camels dying by eating plastic bags, cans, bottles stuck in their throat and stomach. In an effort to save this precious wildlife and create awareness for regular off-roaders and desert goers to not to leave anything behind Carnity initiates a Desert Cleanup Drive in Al Awir area - one of the most affected deserts in Dubai.

Idea is to call all volunteers and off-roaders to join this drive and help transport all the volunteers to take them inside the desert, where we all can collect the garbage to clean the desert and bring tons of garbage out.

This event is wholeheartedly supported by:

    • Dubai Municipality
    • Ghost Tints - Switchable Window Film
    • Al Ain Vitamin D Water
    • Paint Solutions - Bringing the bodyshop to you - 050 6402725

Meh, Dubai people, pfffttt. Sorry, can't have your cake and eat it too.

@desertdude Please avoid the personal attack, which is not required nor appreciated by anyone for saving the sanity of this public forum. We have already received few complaints from regular forum users in the past about your similar behavior.

Hope you kindly understand and respect everyone's time and convenience in choosing the right course of action.

  9. Thanks, @Rahimdad for all the continuous support and ideas to develop Carnity knowledgebase.

His one of the recent suggestion has been implemented to have a featured topic - sidebar panel where best of the best topic will get featured. A topic will only get featured based on single criteria - to have wealth of useful information and not the just maximum number of views and replies.

I think it devalues new members who come on here and ask questions.

And this new member contributes to 70% of total members who only come and ask a question and then run away without even saying thanks to the contributor. Do you really like to advocate them?

Idea is to create and add value, even if someone is new or not well versed with car technical answers, that person can share new news, interesting finding, some tips and tricks etc. to gain rating provided they really like to contribute. Simply lurking whole day and adding one-liner meaningless post won't get the rating.

Maybe it's a way of quickly telling how good member is in terms of his forum participation quality wise?

Absolutely yes, it's called Member Effectiveness = Total number of posts/reputation.

One should have at least 50 posts to appear on sidebar Member Effectiveness Tab.

It sounds like an amzing idea, but wondering how do you satisfy the club ego's?

Actually, we don't intend to satisfy anyone's ego. We are more focussed on satisfying individual need and pain point like yours.

Been there, done that for a while and realize all I need is 4-5 friends (at best) to venture and not any clubs anymore.

Please pardon me but we already have forum section which deals with same topic

The whole idea for creating carnity club is to group carnity 15,000 members based on their interest and liking. We believe, this way members can benefit more based on their interest and enthusiasm. They can join the club that suit their taste and the best part is that they can join any number of clubs, unlike in real world ;-) and still stay together.

This give members more options to get involved in different conversations, meet-ups, drives, events and new niche specific discussions and causes.

In last decade UAE off-road circuit has been broken into multiple splinter clubs and has taken away the real off-road spirit from the weekend goers. Due to these, all my friends and acquaintances has been lost behind different clubs and their fences. Now it's a chance to unite those clubs, by preserving their individual identity and yet bringing them closer to celebrate the true spirit of off-road in the UAE.
    • If anyone don't like Nizwa drive from XXXXXX 4x4 then they can join in Sweihan drive from YYYYY 4x4 without any hard feeling and still enjoy the weekend in desert with his friends.
    • By staying together members can negotiate better bulk deals for hundreds of members than for 10's and 20's.
    • Clubs can join forces for the bigger causes to support national drives, events and charities.
    • All members will be part of huge SOS group for off-road recovery and assistance.
    • Individual members can gain community reputation and test off-road freebies.
Last but not least, all clubs drives, events and synergies will be preserved in gallery section for years to come and refer back to prove their metal and cherish the good moments with the next generation.

  14. We are proud to announce another great add-on to our car community to strengthen its reach and resources.

    Carnity Car Clubs

Any member of carnity.com can form a car related club and hold discussions, events and drives based on that club member likings.

You can open a club with any car interest you like and wait for other carnity.com members to join and explore your car interest / enthusiasm further.

It can be mechanic's club, technician's club, offroad club, sharjah desert club, drifter club or anything you can think as per your imagination but related to car and it's associated interest.

Feel free to add any suggestions or feedback here for "Car Clubs" betterment.

  15. After successfully running for over 16 months, we like to retire the concept of making money with red like by end of May 2017.

Although red like system will still work and applicable to gain respect and positive vote of liking each other content, but the payment of 1 red like = 1 AED will no longer be applicable.

All members red likes above 25 AED will be en cashed after 31 May 2017. We sincerely thanks all the participating members for contributing and keeping carnity knowledge base growing at exponential rate.

  16. After seeing an immense interest in Carnity drives and meet up's, we have decided to use the Calendar module for better organizing and preserving our memories. Calendar link is placed on top navigation bar for ease of use.

Moving forward, everyone enrolling for drives or meet up's need to "RSVP" the calendar in addition of listing their name and mobile number in the drive thread. All discussions will be done in forum as usual.

Main advantage for using this Calendar is now we can plan and list drives in advance, and as this calendar is open to all so anyone can create an event and await other members participation. Secondly, after the drive is concluded this Calendar will serve as single point of data collection of discussions, list of participants, drive images and video.

All our previous drives has been listed in the calendar:

  17. Hi @Atif

I know I am not wild cat, but still let me answer your query.

Let me start by saying that the Toyota Prado 4.0 is a very capable off-roader, however things to be considered is the level of trips that you want to make. if it is just occasional off-roading in easy to medium areas the Prado is very capable without any modifications. However, if you feel that you want to go for more advanced of extreme drives in more challenging areas, the Prado 4.0 is still very capable but needs a little lift, slightly bigger tires and a skid plate to protect the bumpers as those bumpers are really easy to loose. i would also recommend to either know where your airbags fuses are to remove during the drives, or fit a switch which would deactivate the airbags as certain manoeuvres can trigger the airbag to go off. Both the SWB and LWB are capable vehicles, but you get better arrival and departure angles on the SWB.

    Hope this helps.

Thanks Rahimdad, I did install a skid plate in the front but so far haven't been for any extreme dunning. I have to change my tyres soon so can I install slightly larger ones without lifting it? I suppose the fuel consumption on roads will increase wit this change of tyres? I also did not realize that the airbags can be an issue.

@Atif As explained earlier it all depend son the level of drive you are interested in, I would suggest a metal plate, bolt on application for the rear bumper also, as it is hollow and like Pajero can be bent by dragging sand in the back. Normally if you increase the tire size it causes rubbing issues as the factory fitted tires are the biggest size you can get without rubbing issues, always better to get a 2 inch lift, than you can enjoy bigger tires. Second thing about the increase in fuel consumption is only if you get heavier tires, if you are just changing the tires to a slightly bigger size the change in fuel consumption should be a minimum. Regarding airbags, the real danger is if you have side airbags which are programmed in such a way that if you are doing a 45 degree side slopping and if you perform a criss cross, that is slide to the other side of the dune doing a 45 degree slop in the opposite direction, than the car computer tells it there is a tilt of 90 degree which means the car has rolled over to its side, this deploys the airbags. If you have not done extreme off-roading than you have not been through this manoeuvre. However if your interest grows it is at least better to locate where the air bag fuse is and remove it for the advance drive.

For ridge cutting or criss crossing see below video at 50 seconds onward to understand better.
