  1. Do you really have a leather pants buddy, salute.......!
  2. How to get rid of coolant inside the engine jacket?
  3. WOW, I also like to know if it's related but I highly doubt. Btw, please share the coolant flush contact as I also need to flush my whole cooling system and refill.
  4. I tried that many times and look like stupid as why Im interfering, especially from local families. I see this A LOT in Warqa including kids popping out of sunroof, kids on driver's lap (yes really), kids on front seat without seat belt and what not.
  5. For sure shared transport, but not on cars instead will be like hyperloop, drones or individual high speed transport. Maybe teleportation like Matrix, you never know we all will be digitized through phone or fiber network. No roads, no traffic, no fuel, no delays.
  6. Nice topic @Barry Long ago, I have been fined for wrong speed when I was at 80 and got the radar for 102, since then every radar I pass my heart skips a beat to not to be faulty again and I literally glare in the lens for flash or no-flash. I used to use that 20 km grace speed a lot, but after that incident as I approach radar I come down to actual road speed minus the grace limit, just to be safe than sorry for 600 dhs. Second I'm most scared of pedestrian crossing when I am the first one to see the pedestrian and stop, I'm always worried about next lane guy should see my car and stop too, as pedestrian will have no visual of the second lane in case that guy miss. Third especially in bur dubai area, where STUPID parents put the pram first on road to stop the traffic literally make my blood boil as if someone fail to stop then that poor kid in the pram will be history due to idiotic parents.
  7. I drive at 8-10 PSI all the time with Geolander (semi-aggressive tread and sidewall) and never had a pop-out unless involved in an accident, bumping over the inevitable bush at very high speed. As far as I rem, I have had 2 pop-outs in last 3 years. I totally agree with Javier going lower than 8 PSI is practically useless as it will increase the drag than helping in climb. I tried Moreeb hill on 8 PSI and 6 PSI and 8 performed an inch better (surprisingly).
  8. Sri and Javier were very kind. I like to teach people how to get unstuck by letting them shovel, so they can learn faster
  9. Anyone here have a leak down tester or know who can lend one for few hours please? Found one on Amazon but delivery is too far, I need it urgently. Im happy to buy too, if someone knows a tool shop. https://www.amazon.ae/dp/B07V6KC619/
  10. I'm back in town after a little break and wish to join this Friday drive as a passenger as my car is down. I’ll help as much as I can and try to be quiet.
  11. WOW, this is the new future that will make everyone's life easy and accessible.
  12. There is no need for under body cleaning after every week desert drive, unless you step on muddy puddles. Driving in sand actually clean lot of area under your car with regular sand blasting automatically, unless otherwise your car has oil leak as desertdude mentioned. Secondly even if sand went in small places like suspensions, then when you hit the highway speed at 120 it will fly away. Of course not on leaf spring setup like in Xterra. I do under body wash once in 6 months just to make sure everything is clean and to spot any oil leak etc.
  13. I agree ruba is an awesome and ultimate offroader and my dream offroader too, but sadly primitive and truck style zero comfort wont appeal 90% weekend warrior, that's why I didnt mentioned it. "STOCK" LWB lc and patrol with boat weight doesn't stand a chance in front of Xterra and FJC.
  14. Again somebody woke up at wrong side of the bed. Damn it. Xterra and FJC are only two best, capable, reliable, dependable, competent, purpose built Japanese 4x4 in stock state. @Jamy B. go with Xterra from private deal and you can get within 2012 (30k) - 2015 (50k) benchmark pricing.
  15. Electric, No-Electric I think main cause of death was no fail-safe mechanism for retractable door handles. Manufacturer should work some level of control on this area at least for first responders to open door in case of such emergencies. I think newer Range and Porsche has similar retractable door handles too.
  16. Totally agree, will align all stars next time before posting such drive.
  17. There are more than few ways to get around shawka and follow the open trails, clearly visible on google maps, wikiloc etc. Only catch is you should be able to follow the trail (width wise) from where you can reverse or take a u-turn, as many places have weird stone placement that you can cross through easily but reversing will be a task for a single vehicle. Below is the most easiest path that you can take without any risk involve. Blue is the mountain shaded area for get together in front of lake. I recorded this in reverse, so chequered flag is starting point. For people aiming for adventure run take the second leg and you will have nice thrill for few kms, revert from blocked area. Option 2 for more adventure run - Intermediate level. Wadi Shawka.gpx Wadi Shawka.kmz Wadi Shawkah loop.kmz Wadi Shawkah loop.gpx

  20. Well done @Frederic for listing almost every possible thing require for camping in one place. This will def help a lot of people who think buy a camp - is just enough to start camping. It took me 2 weeks prep for researching, buying, stacking things for my first salalah trip.
  21. Totally agree on this one and also should have all expectation set in the beginning than opening any surprise on the way to detour here and detour there. I screwed two oman trips in exact same way.
