  1. Sometimes old school technology just works.
  2. I like all 3 but in reality, none of the above. I’d probably have some old school mid sized European RWD Ford like a Capri, preferably a 280 Brooklands. I like a lot of cars. I don’t think in reality I could just pick one. Cars are like beer, you have to try a glass of everything.
  3. @Gaurav I see your point and understand and accept it. I know lots of people who live for the desert on Friday, I know lots of people who live for laps around a track on Friday. It’s just different horses for different courses. We’re all brothers and sisters united in the love for the internal combustion engine. Brothers and sisters fight sometimes but we will always be family. ❤️
  4. None. Fun in the desert but in reality you will only go to the desert at the weekend. A high powered rwd car will offer fun every day of the week.
  5. People with more money than sense always tend to buy new, do all their services at the dealer and sell the car back to the dealer when they’re done to buy the latest model to keep up with the Joneses. People like that are easy pickings for the dealer.
  6. Awesome! I’ve tried many times to get a job with Saluki Motorsport but never even got a response from them.
  7. Hi @martenny welcome to Carnity 👋
  8. Cool. Welcome along @audi tech here now I have another persons brain to pick when I have Audi problems. And I have a lot of Audi problems 😂
  9. General Lee 69 Charger We have a purple 68 at work at the minute. Very cool car but if you’re smart enough to know where to look, you can tell it was originally orange. I have a feeling it was a general lee rep that someone rebuilt. @Javier M we’re building an Elenor rep at the minute. I’ll post some pics in a couple of months when it’s done. @sertac we have the transam in too 😊
  10. Old is gold but shite will always be shite. Unless it becomes rare and expensive shite.
  11. Never had a car here but I’ve been lucky enough in my job that I’ve got to drive everything from tiidas to Ferrari’s to expensive rare classics. Planning to get a LS400, convert it to manual and fit a 2 way diff. I thought about getting a 4x4 but I see how much stuff you guys break at the weekend and how it can get expensive fast 😂
  12. I don’t think this needs a description
  13. I’ve seen this before but I can’t remember now. Is it a Volkswagen something?
  14. Dexol are the guys to go to. That’s where I send all my transmission work. Never had an issue with them.
  15. I work in a shop that mainly builds custom cars and choppers. Also restore classic cars and do some maintenance and repairs to everyday road cars. I mostly work in the office but sometimes I’m out in the shop advising the mechanics and electricians on diagnosis and repairs. Spent most of my life working on cars and it’s nice to go home with clean hands every day now. Perfect job for me, I get paid for doing my hobby.
  16. Engine oil level Transmission oil level Tyre pressure Tyre tread depth and condition Coolant level Windscreen washer fluid Brake fluid
  17. Could be a faulty pressure sensor. After a while the moving parts start to break down and fill the system with dirt which blocks things up.
  18. You’ll just have to get ignorant with a big screwdriver and pry it open. As long as you don’t damage the dashboard, you can get a new glovebox lid from scrap.
  19. There used to be a mouse in a warehouse I worked in here. The other guys used torment it, chasing it, trying to kill it, they even cut a hole in the wall to find his nest. I felt bad for the little thing, he wasn’t hurting anyone, so I used to leave some food at the entry to his hole every night after work, he seemed to love popcorn. Then a stray cat started coming around the workshop and the guys started feeding it every day. That was the last I seen of the mouse. Had a mouse in my house in Ireland before too. I don’t believe in killing an animal unless it’s trying to kill you or you’re going to eat it. So I started feeding him bits and pieces too. Life’s a struggle for everyone. Got semi tame in the end and used to sit at my feet. I remember my mother freaking out about mice in the house before when I was a kid and putting out glue traps to catch them. I used to have to check the glue traps and sometimes I would find a mouse stuck to one still alive and felt bad for them. You can release them from the glue if you run oil on them so that’s what I would do then set them free outside. Mice are cute little creatures and incredibly smart. And if it wasn’t for mice, our medicines wouldn’t be at the advanced stage they are now.
  20. It’s on the way. Dead dinosaur fuelled cars will eventually become a novelty and the nouveau rich will be the only people who can afford to buy and run them. The purchasing thing is already happening. Classic cars are hitting mental prices. Soon everyone will be hooked up on computers, and only a few people will understand how a timing light works or how to balance a pair of carburettors. Laugh all you want. Learn about new technologies. But one day the old farts are going to save your ass. I know because I’ve been there and had to retrain
  21. For me it has to be that every car park in Dubai is full of abandoned Ferraris and Lamborghinis. I’m always getting messages from people at home asking how to buy them.
  22. For me it has to be, Tailgating, the biggest AH thing you can do. 90% of accidents I see here are front to rear collisions. Not being able to drive in a straight line, ie touching the white line, going to the white line on the other side back and forward Texting. Hands free calls I can deal with but if you’re looking at your phone, you’re not looking at the road. No seat belt. If you want to kill yourself go ahead, but your dead body flying round inside the car is going to kill everyone else.
