  1. What a great drive this morning! Thanks @Anish S for the lead and the variety of techniques to practice. I really enjoyed the technical section which was a real learning experience in a LWB car. Thanks also to @Vanessa8580for the usual energy and guidance in recoveries. I think you and Anish make a very good team - cool methodical approach and a dynamic sidekick! @Russ was, I am sure, having fun sweeping us all at the back. Many thanks!

We saw camels (lots of them) and "Abdullah" who was a guy wondering the desert probably looking for Dubai Mall.

I truly think everyone drove fabulously today. The Ram and the Raptors were just cruising along taking everything in their stride. I have previously driven with most of the other gents and super to see hardly any refusals which in some churned up terrain and soft sand and strong winds is testament to a new level of skills! Well done all (and I am sure we took good note of the recovery demonstrations provided by Anish and Vanessa!) 😀

Looking forward to another outing soon! A couple of pics in the Gallery!

  2. Really nice start to the Lisali dunes this morning and I thought the pace was just right as we enjoyed a cool breeze and a nice sunrise. Thank you to @Vanessa8580 and @Srikumar for the energy and enthusiasm and the guidance on the recoveries. There was lots to learn for everyone simply in observing and participating. We had a couple of stucks, a couple of tows, a pop out and lots of shovelling! A condensed recovery masterclass for the newbies and fewbies! 😄

A few pics now uploaded in the gallery. Have a good weekend all and Eid mubarak to those celebrating!

  3. Hi guys a quick video from yesterday. Spectacular sunrise enjoyed by all.

40 seconds in I get stuck on a choppy ridge. From reviewing this seems to be a textbook stuck - not enough momentum and needed to exit sooner. Thank you for the digs from team @Hisham Masaad and @JeromeFJ and freed up to continue the morning. We had plenty of opportunities to practice ridge riding so thanks to @Ale Vallecchi for guidance and lead.

As others noted we had an issue towards the end of the drive 😢 and it goes without saying that everyone on the drive wishes @luis mantecon Wrangler a speedy recovery.

Hope to see you all soon.

  4. I love the Big Red area even with the tourists and really enjoyed the drive yesterday. Started off really windy while we were deflating but it soon died down. I was impressed with the topless Jeep and his two lady passengers!

First time for my wife out in the sands and she reckons she can tackle the dunes too...

Thanks to @Anish S@Lorenzo Candelpergher and @Amir Amiri for keeping us all (relatively) trouble free. Couple of further pictures uploaded in the Gallery.

  5. Super drive this afternoon! We started with military precision and finished on time.

Really enjoyed the tight technical stuff, a first for me . The pace was good and we covered around 62kms so we managed to stretch our legs as well. I know everyone says this but everyone drove so well, even in the soft powder criss crossing without knowing what is on the other side.

We enjoyed a glorious sunset set against a postcard dune backdrop.

Nice to see familiar faces and to meet new ones. Thanks again @Anish S for the planning and the lead and to the impeccable support from @Alain Canivet-Abikhalil@Lakshmi Narasimhanand @RooRzOn

I came straight from the office so didn't have my big camera to take many snaps unfortunately.

    Have a good week ahead!

  6. Thanks to @Foxtrot Oscar and the seniors for leading us on a fun filled afternoon showcasing the best of Mahafiz and Fossil Rock. Nice to be able to climb Fossil Rock this time instead of dealing with a protesting clutch and going into limp mode (the other car, not the LC!).

Everyone drove really well and good to see the high temperature did not interrupt play.

A couple of pics in the gallery - hope I got you all😀

I have bought a 20inch LED light bar tonight and will have it installed tomorrow.

Just wondering where should I install it?

I have seen ppl put the light bar on the lower bumper and ppl put the light bar on the roof.

Any suggestions? I'd prefer it on the bumper only because installing on bumper is easier and I wouldnt mind having holes on the bumper.

Hey man the common observation with installing it on the roof is that the lights reflect on the bonnet which is annoying/can be distracting on night drives. And some have commented that there is increased buffeting/wind noise if installed on the roof when going down SZR! So maybe the bumper is the preferred option...
