Flying cars to take off in the UAE?

Recommended Posts

Flying cars, teleportation and bullet-like trains – it all sounds like transportation methods from a sci-fi movie, but engineers believe it could soon be a reality.

A group of engineers has shared what they think transportation could look like in Dubai 50 years from now. They shared their views shortly after it was announced that the UAE is investing millions of dollars into the research and development of the Hyperloop – a train that can travel from Dubai to Fujairah in 10 minutes.

Wow, back to the future, most movies back in the late 80's and early 90's left a mark on the scientist to make fiction come true.

Wishing UAE the very best to make this possible, some of us might not be around to see this become reality.

Thank for sharing William.

PS: Off-roading will not be any fun in these vehicles.:-P

I think realistically, some sort of VTOL craft like this will be the closest we will ever see to a flying "car" in our lifetime but the costs would restrict it to the social elite.

This Sarwat news writer of 7 days is famous for such crappy and long fetched stories, that is difficult to catch and proven wrong.

I more agree with barry idea that these private plane kind of shit will be soon appearing in next 5-10 years on the horizon.

@amitaj I don't think most of us will be around to catch him after 50 years and tell him his story was far fetched.

He himself will not be around so he is pretty safe!

@Barry, exciting bit of news there, looking forward to seeing those around.

As the weather begin to change for good, this might be the last night drive to enjoy this year, as now in night weather has become very pleasant with cool breeze. Time to enjoy chilled out desert drive in our much loved Mahafiz sandbox till the morning. If time permit and convoy response are favorable, we might continue play in morning at monster dunes after fossil rock area, if not we will end and exit.
This area offers a great mix of playable dunes and medium dunes to test your night driving skills. Depending on convoy strength and liking will plan the route to fit everyone's taste and capabilities.
Offroad lights are recommended for a night drive, but if you don't have you can still safely drive with your HIGH BEAM.
      When: 08 Aug 2019, Thursday
Meeting time: 11 PM, the convoy will move at sharp 11:15 PM - "NO EXCEPTIONS"
Where: ADNOC at Sharjah - Kalba Road
      GPS Coordinate: https://goo.gl/maps/CjXEpdPqn3NZ7Y8j7
Level: Newbie, Fewbie & Above (NO ABSOLUTE NEWBIE PLEASE)
Type of Car: Any proper 4x4 with front and back tow hooks and 10 inches of ground clearance.
Plan: Drive, train and enjoy till about 4 am and then break for snacks.
What to bring along: Snacks whatever you like with little extra to share, water, liquids, smiles, stories, enthusiasm and willingness to learn.
      Approximate finish time: 5:00 AM

      Hi Guys,

I am planning to to go Hatta Lake for Kayaking Friday 09.03.18  morning. The venue opens at 8am and its 60Dhs per head for unlimited time.
I am attaching the route going to the lake. However i plan to take the Route B which crosses a wadi and just drive through it.
I have taken the route before through that wadi but half way only. This time i am planning to cross it and connect on the main road going to Hatta lake.
If any one is interested can join. Meeting point is the only ENOC station on the E611 at 6am.

Yesterday @desertdude mentioned “Bu Jasim’s” in the “What Went Wrong” thread and I didn’t know what he meant. I was told that it was a reference to a 4x4 model, like Bu Shanab and Fatma Jumaa.
Who knows other local or international nicknames for specific 4x4 or cars models ?
