New VW scandal

VW, along with Daimler and BMW have admitted to testing the effects of diesel emission fumes on monkeys and humans. As an ex truck and plant mechanic who used to clean black stuff out of his nose every night, I could have told them it was nasty for free.

This is totally absurd and I'm more surprised that how people agree to inhale fumes for bloody 11 USD for two hours.

It was very clever on VW, Merc and BMW part for forming and funding EUGT to put the blame on them (if exposed) and wash their hands.

Now the bigger question is, does diesel fumes really have carcinogen.....?

Let's root for each other & watch each other grow.

There have been studies that indicate diesel fumes are indeed carcinogenic. The 2 main contributors are soot and PAH (Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons). PAHs can directly alter the DNA in your lungs on inhalation causing cell mutations. Soot tends to get stuck in the alveoli which causes inflammation. Surrounding cells try to fight the inflammation which can cause random mutations that may develop into cancer.
