171XDI
I've bought a Fiesta a few months ago, and noticed that the engine noise in the cabin is kind of annoying, it's a bit too loud. It's sounding kind of like a old diesel engine, especially when accelerating or on the motorway. I don't know if it's because I'm used to my other car (it's a new Taurus V6), or if it's really some problem in the engine. Besides that, everything is fine and it's a really good city car. If you guys have any thoughts about that, I'd appreciate it a lot. Thanks.
salah
Issue may be coz of your other super quiet car like you mentioned. But worth checking following things that actually cuts the outside noise in the cabin. >Check all doors beading is properly intact and sealing nicely. >Check all windows beading is properly intact and sealing nicely. >Check the engine firewall (in engine bay) is not having any broken, cracks or spaces as thats the main area for sealing engine noise. josphrod
Does your Fiesta have that sound even when you have bought it? The next question is if you are sure that the sound is coming from the engine? It is possible that (Just as salah has said), the sound might be coming from holes or dents in the door, window or even the roof.
