2010 Nissan Pathfinder

Recommended Posts

The Pathfinder is an SUV based on the rough and ready Xterra but with more of a road going focus.

That said, it still has aspirations of off-road performance with four-wheel drive and a high ground clearance. Seating seven, the Pathfinder is powered by the same 4.0-litre V6 engine that powers the Xterra but with a fraction less power – 261bhp against 270bhp. The engine is mated to a five-speed automatic gearbox and drives all four wheels.

Three version of the Pathfinder are available; the entry-level XE that rides on steel wheels, the mid-range SE shod with 16-inch alloys and top-spec LE, which comes with 17-inch rims and a sun roof.

Other features across the range include numerous storage spaces, such as under the seats and under the boot floor. The second and third rows of seats fold flat to provide huge amounts of boot space while the tailgate has a glass hatch that can be opened to deposit small items inside without having to open the whole boot.

Available options include dual zone air conditioning, satellite navigation, a DVD entertainment system and Bluetooth phone connectivity.

Safety features include front, side and curtain airbags and active head restraints to help prevent whiplash in the event of an accident. ABS is standard, but VDC (electronic stability control) is only an option.

The Pathfinder has been with us since 2005. An updated 2011 Pathfinder was unveiled at the 2010 Geneva Motor Show. It has a redesigned front end and an updated interior, but at the time of writing there was no word on when it would come to the Middle East.
