timsang
Hello everyone, I have a 2001 Corolla and need to change a coil pack since its damaged. Never done this before myself since I always have it done when the car is gone to the pros. This time I want to do it myself since I think I can save a trip and some money. Heard its an easy process. Can someone help me with it?
rex
Hello, To be exact you need to: - Unfasten the engine plastic cover, remove two bolts and two nuts on it. - Access the wiring harness and unplug from top of the coil pack - you will need to press the locking button to unplug it. - You will find a bolt securing the ignition coil, twist and pull out the coil - rubber boot of the new coil needs to be greased typically with the dielectric grease. Place the new coil in place and press till it clicks right into place - secure the coil pack bolt ... firmly. - Replace the wiring harness on top. - See if any other coil packs need to be replaced and repeat the same procedure. - secure the plastic engine cover with the bolts and nuts.
