Yes,it is possible. When water (or large amounts of water vapor) is present in the cylinder the water takes up some of the volume of the cylinder, hence, higher compression pressure. Once the water is expelled through the valves the compression pressure will fall back down to about normal- depending on the size of the leak path in the gasket, or worse, the size of the crack in the cylinder head. However, as someone else mentioned, it is best to these types of test with the fuel system disabled to protect the catalytic converter when the engine starts again. Nonetheless, bear in mind that the object of a compression test in these circumstances is not to find a definitive compression pressure; it is to determine the position of the leak, which will be on the cylinder(s) with the lowest compression pressure.

Last year there was one fortuner 2.7 with us. It was doing well. It wasn't have enough power to climb faya but normal off road driving it is good enough.

Thread is about the Isuzu trooper thats what I was talking about. Ofcourse the whole world knows the galloper was literally an older rebadged Pajero because from what I remember Hyundai basically bought all the tooling for the older pajeros and even the motor was basically a mistsu

Friend back home has one. Can’t answer how it is in the desert but it’s pretty good in snow and mud and in the mountains. His is a TD with loads of work done, big turbo, big pump, big injectors etc.

It's there in other car brands for less famous brands Isuzu trooper very much looks like Pajero and Old Hyundai 4x4 (can't recall its name) seems to me they all are derived from Pajero background, design, engine and 4x4 gearing. Trooper was quite famous and capable too, but less popularity and parts scarcity killed it completely.

@Frederic Nuyttens, its a capable off-road vehicle, little under powered due to power to weight ratio and parts are definitely hard to come by and expensive when you finally source them. In South Africa the SWB version is a great hit, but their idea of off-road is different than ours.

Yeah, might be a gasket problem, might also be a faulty oil cooler, maybe even just condensation because of winter. Nah, let’s pull the engine apart and stick a new gasket in. Make proper diagnoses and fix things properly first time instead of guessing and getting lucky. I didn’t get to be working on expensive cars just by guessing things. If I was into the guessing game, I’d rent a parking space in rashidiya and survive on 100 dhs per day. There’s nothing UK about it, it’s called being professional.
