  17. @andy_macdxb I have a Pahy 2001 model R50. It is capable, but little under powered 3.3 litre engine. Much prefer the 3.5 litre post 2002 models. Nevertheless it has allowed me to do most things except high steep climbs which in not on my to do list. I am not sure about the Japan specs, as long as it's anything close to our specs here with a proper 4 high and 4 low gear plus the same powerful 3.5 litre engine and is left hand drive it should be good.

  19. Hi @Nayan Shenai Attached video explains it clearly. Just have a few things to add: * Put the STEP frequency to 6.25 if you program the first 4 frequencies in the radio. *Put the STEP frequency to 12.5 if you program the fifth channel (462.88750). You can either program these channels one by one into your radio, which is the easiest for you later on, or you can just enter the frequency without saving it. Our radios are programmed from Channel 1 to Channel 5 according to the following frequencies: Option 5 in your menu should be on Narrowband. Option 10 and 12 in your menu should be set to OFF (we are not using CT codes). BaoFeng_UV-5R_Manual_(1).pdf

  20. Couple of weeks back in Madinat Zayed we were camping about one km away from the road and there was no Etisalat signal. Don't know if the coverage quality has dropped over the years.

  26. There is no Jap Spec pathfinders of that generation. 1st because they were called they Nissan Terrano in Japan and 2nd cars made in Japan for the Japanese domestic market or JDM are all right hand drive. So if it's actually a Japan imported Pathfinder it will be badged as a Terrano and will be RHD. So someone is taking the piss here by telling you it's Japan specs

  34. Geneva Motor show was cancelled, so the engineers that just spent their annual budget on a toy need to do something to show for it. Normally, they woudl take it to Geneva, have everyone ooh and ahh and fie years later you get a watered down version of the beautiful vehicle they created. This year ... no show (literally), so they needed to put it out in Social and other media. Is it beautiful? Based on the last Bentleys it's getting better. Is it worth the price of a really nice home, no. But as I have said before, you can't drive a house, but you can sleep in a car.

  35. Welcome @Gordon Grimmond, glad to have you. Can you please clarify as I have not seen a JR Cruise from Toyota yet. Does it have atleast 10 inches ground clearance and are the tow hooks in the front and back in good condition.

  36. Was supposed to fly TRV - DXB - LAX for a trade show, but when I arrived in DXB this morning they told us the trade show had been cancelled. Would have been OK - but for the fact that I did another leg DXB - TRV yesterday (to originate on the whole flight). As I was on EK even thought you might be 'driving' 😂 Like I said, at least I am here and free Friday so now I am spoilt for choice.

  37. Sure, but if you’re still new to offroading we would recommend that you to drive alone first to avoid any distractions.

  38. Guys i want to be honest. Until now i haven't got over yet from the experience that Friday morning. Its like i found the missing piece in my whole 20 years life in UAE. Now i spent more time browsing Dubizzle and other sites for the 4X4 that i can afford. Hoping i can find the right one. I felt my Murano cannot handle my excitement in joining more adventures in the future. I am now a confessed addict and i need help. Indeed thankful to all of you and meeting new friends is such great experience. God bless and more power everyone. !

  39. @Rahimdad Rahimbhai Once more beautifully written and giving reminiscences of a drive I did not enjoy with you ... until now! Reading all the weekend's reports has been a massive pleasure as you add colour from your perspective as lead to the enthusiasm of the people in your convoy. See you soon in the sand

  41. That doesn’t look good. I’ve been going through some forums and apparently the vehicle does not come with stock front tow hooks. Considering the weight of this truck i would not advise taking it to the desert. Recovery from both sides has to be possible at all times. installing Mopar tow hooks: https://youtu.be/G_M3oSq0ybc

  42. It should have stock tow hooks or tow points at the front. Send us some pictures if you’re in doubt.

  43. Hi Colin, Yes the Ram1500 will be totally fine for a newbie drive. The Maliha area has relatively long dunes so that should be no issue. Looking forward to that roar !

  44. Hi guys, I was meant to go to dragon mart to buy my radio, flag and air compressor. Due to the virus, my wife and mates insist I should avoid going to dragon mart( I know is sad but better safe than sorry). Is it okay if I could borrow a radio this time please? Thank you, Denver
