If i had the money, i'd love to get me that new Hummer, Defender, or Bronco. Even the Cybertruck looks so amazing. But in this country where you will have no other option than to take these type of cars to your stealership that will take every dirham out of your pocket, i gladly keep my classic 4x4

We will venture into a less explored part of the desert through an area where we can have lot of fun albeit safely. Drive details: Location – on Al Ain road exactly on other side of Lisaili. We will drive through this part if desert heading towards Lahbab and then towards Margham , finally exiting somewhere there along the road connecting Margham to Al Ain Rd or further. Climate – Expect it to be warm to hot as we are starting at 3pm to make the best of day light before exit. Plan to exit before dark.(sunset 5.44pm, manageable twilight for upto 30 min more) . Terrain – Small to Medium Dunes,long range, minimal plantation and bushes. Nonetheless there can be areas which will be technical needing your full attention and finesse. Considering the fewbie level of the convoy we will be going at a leisurely pace with safe sloping, ridge riding and crossing at times. There are some nice and safe play areas ,some of you have already seen . Please make sure your cars are in perfect condition as we are starting when it will be warm to hot and hence possibility of engines/transmission heating up is always there .In any case keep informed and communicate on the Radio. See up close – Camel farms, Falconers, Gazelles and oryx. Exit - towards Margham or Al ain road depending on the response of the convoy and how much distance we cover. See you all on friday! New tech for me, all the bells and whistles for me. specially in the interior. While New tech has more points of failure but at the same time the new cars are also more reliable. Apart from Hummer EV, Tesla Cybertruck and Rivian R1T are more or less well received.

Hi @Manjinder Singh ... it's a big question every week about how we can accommodate the wishes of so many committed drivers. At one level, yes, the easy solution is to say we open up the drives to as many people as sign up. The challenge we then have is two fold. (probably more, but let's start with these two). The first is safety. With a 15 car convoy, the front and back of the convoy are a long way from each other and the experience of the front of the convoy can be very, very different to the back. At the front, you drive on nice freshly created takcs for you by the drive lead and drive at a very leasurely pace. At the back, you are looking for a clean track that has not been churned up by the cars in front and having to drive much faster to keep up (concertina effect) so it's a bit of a race to keep up and deal with the sand. The second is simply the potential enjoyment of the convoy has a correlation with the amount of stucks and refusals. If you add 5 more cars, you increase exponentially the chances of delays due to problems. As drive leads, we love managing recoveries because we learn a lot from it as does the driver being recovered. If, however, you are 500 meters away in a different part of the convoy sitting patiently waiting, eventually, when that happens 5, 6 or ten times, it becomes a little less fun. I am all for getting as many people out into the sand as possible. It is one of the ultimate most liberating hobbies I know, so I understand 100% that you want to be out there. The challenge on this drive in particular is that for the first time, we are exploring with Newbies. That means that there may be more stucks and refusals than ususal. If everyone on the drive is OK with the risk that it lasts till 12.00 or beyond, then maybe we can extend the numbers - but I hope you see the dilemma. It's not that we do not want to add more drivers, it's that we have to tink about how do we manage all those drivers. If the drive is without incident, that's great. If there's a problem. Less so. I am open to any ideas or suggestions you might have.

With the tremendous increase in the number of COVID cases in the UAE, we all have to be responsible while off-roading. Failing to abide by any single precaution at any time during the drive, will result in an immediate ban from Carnity Off-road Club. ZERO TOLERANCE First offender - 1 Month Ban. Second offender - 3 Month Ban. Third offender - lifetime ban and report to authorities. COVID19 PRECAUTIONS 2.0 All Carnity off-road drives will be LIMITED to driving only: No Socializing and gathering allowed at any time. No break for taking photos, breakfast, smoking, etc. No exchanging of off-road or recovery gears. Wear a mask at all times, while outside your vehicle. For passengers restrictions, follow RTA or NCEMA guidelines. All passengers should be inside the car, at all times. Maintain a minimum of 2-meter social distance at all times. Sanitize your hands and recovery gear after use. PS1. If you and your passenger cannot sit inside your vehicle for 3-4 hours please DO NOT JOIN CARNITY DRIVES. PS2. A Member who has RSVP the drive is RESPONSIBLE and LIABLE for their passenger's compliance. PS3. The above precautions apply to everyone irrespective of their vaccination status or schedule. PS4. You can confidentially submit the photo of any offender by sending an email to [email protected]. How to comply Read the drive post before arriving at the meeting point, so that you know your convoy numbering and radio channel. Arrive at the meeting point and switch on your radio to the pre-set frequency of the drive. Stop your vehicle at least 10-20 meters away from each other. Deflate your tires, while wearing a mask, and then go back inside your car. All briefings will be done on the radio now, so pay full attention to a briefing for your own safety. After the briefing, fall in your convoy position just before the drive starts. While driving if you get stuck, announce on the radio and be inside your car at all times. Trip lead and/or support will guide you on the radio for self-recovery or tow-rope recovery. While there is a stuck or a refusal, everyone else supposed to be inside their car at all times. You can only take a bio-break during the drive, by requesting trip lead permission. Once the drive is over exit out to inflate by maintaining 10-20 meters distance from each other. While inflating, only the driver supposed to be out and with the face mask at all times. After the drive, you can talk on the radio for any feedback, suggestions or help you need.
