  3. Good morning all ! @Gary F@Cristian@Deepak Eswar@FERNANDO SYRIO@Mohit Gurnani@Juan R@Rk ram@Zulfikhar Naiyar@Cha I've just closed the convoy. Please find your convoy positions posted here above. We will be using Channel 4: 446.081 Mhz. Due to the unstable weather conditions, we might have to lower the drive level a bit, as wet sand can be very deceiving and dangerous. So let's take it easy and slowly build up the pace until we are comfortable with the terrain. See you all at 6.30AM !

  4. We welcome all Champions to enroll for the much-awaited Desert Champions Trophy. Here are a few things each Champion needs to know, practice and remember for the day of the event. Your phone or GPS device should have a dedicated power source to last for 6+ hours. Your phone or GPS device should withstand heat or direct sunlight. Your phone or GPS device should have offline maps. Your phone or GPS device should be updated. Your phone or GPS device should have all waypoints, and restricted areas. Your phone or GPS device should be able to record track without internet or GSM coverage (for DU sim holders). Your phone or GPS device should be able to export the track to a GPX file. Your phone or GPS device should be able to share that GPX file with us. Please test all the above, during your test run or daily driving, to eliminate any/all bottlenecks or points of failure. Please remember each member's GPS track has to be submitted for fair evaluation, which means 1 lead + 4 participants = 5 GPS tracks per team is needed at the end of the event. We require a full GPS track from start to finish line without any pauses or breaks. Any missing or broken GPS track will have the whole team disqualified. Learning resource for the Gaia GPS phone app

  17. One more drive video, one more experiment. In this video I have mimicked Jump Cuts with a single clip by cutting the video and changing the angle and FOV. It now looks like as if I had many different takes of the action from diffent angles. Earlier I used to export diffent angles and use either multicam which was slightly more efficient to cut but resource hungry than layering one over above another to do the effect. Now using a 360 video in Final Cut I can do the same with so much less time and processing resources. Post video export I observed that FCPX likes 90 degrees but Insta360 doesn’t. Enjoy some music while you watch the video.

  20. I’ll take “Comfortably Numb” over “Another brick in the wall” any day 😜. Especially the love Pulse version or Pompei 2016 version.

  21. This idea is so cool @Frederic! My fav Pink Floyd song is either another brick in the wall, breath or maybe comfortably Numb! I can’t really decide tbh. this similar idea implied with listening to some 50s-90s playlists alongside camping and driving would be awesome I’ll see what I can do. To join up in November if I can

  26. Great idea @Frederic! If for nothing else, would have joined another Pink Floyd fan. Alas, am travelling next week. P.S. being a die-hard fan and over the years have realized that one can do many things while listening but certainly can't dance

Nothing is more irritating than a no-show since a lot of planning goes into the convoy and route planning.

  33. Mine went the other way. Frustrated over no lift in my Jeep and getting stuck on ridge all the time, I would exit and loop back climb on, did it so many times I said I should be called Looper. After an 💡 moment, I updated my user name on Carnity. When I created my Instagram id for off-roading escapades I called it Looper and later and when I ordered a domain I called it Looper.ae to go with it. When YouTube introduced creator tags rebadged Instagram id once again to go with YouTube to: looper_ae
