Brilliant idea @Ale Vallecchi for this well thought and creative approach to chase the waypoints chosen by the participants. I've never seen or heard something like this before.8 points

Shocking to read this, have known you since the 3rd NB drive till now, I wish you the best in all that you do @Hisham Masaad, @Abdelghanitake care4 points

There will be Carnity media coverage for the event, so get the Broadway or even Tuxedos ready. Perfect time to spice up the after-event party at the campsite.4 points

thanks for expanding the group. Pajero SWB, white, stock towing points available. Prepared for mild over-landing (slight lift, spacers, nothing extreme). Over 2M kms on my clock and several seasons of racing - it's like a career shift, I guess. Overlanding and beach driving experience from past life - nothing you guys would consider a pro thing, so after watching your guides I am humbly stating here for the record: a full blown noob ready to learn new things. I'm only missing a... shovel, but I guess it's something I will be able to get tomorrow during the day...3 points

Dear Desert Drivers @Zulfikhar Naiyar @Mahesh_ @Mohammad Sayawoush Azad @Pacific @Waqar Sarwar @Alphin Aloor @Joji varghese THIS IS AN IMPORTANT NOTICE There is a professional off-road event this weekend Dubai Baja International taking place in the area of Qudra - Solar Park - Faqa. Not sure of their exact track, but for sure they need space, and I don't want to have one of them flying into the convoy from behind a dune. I will relocate the starting point further South, close to Nahel https://maps.app.goo.gl/XqZc3rydA9G1fASv5 It is a bit further away from Dubai, but it is a very nice area where we can approach bigger dunes. However, I totally understand if it doesn't match your plans for the day, and I will not blame you if you choose another drive or remove your RSVP. Please acknowledge reading this post by reacting or sending a message. Thank you for your understanding.3 points

@Hisham Masaad this took me truly by surprise I wish you good health in your later adventures mate, it’s been a pleasure to watch and adapt with you, both you and @Abdelghani are incredible drivers. I will miss the echoing on the radio of “yalla push” on the amazing climbs of Badayer. I hope we cross paths again in the future good luck mate2 points

Good afternoon @was003 Yes indeed, we request every new joiner to start with a Newbie drive as a minimum, and from there, after discussion with the Lead or Marshal, you can apply to have your previous experience transferred, and if accepted, join Fewbie drives. This is to ensure our minimum rules for safely driving in convoy are well understood, and as you can guess "previous experience" can mean anything from family picnic to expert driving... Thank you for your understanding, and I hope to see you soon in a next drive.2 points

Reading all of the comments here really shows how we are so much more than an off road club. Sad to hear you go - hope to see you again on sand and if you ever see a jimny rushing towards you, probably going to be me. Best of luck! 🥲1 point

You will be missed @Hisham Masaad , every drive was a pleasure with you. I really appreciated all the advice and patience you gave @Benjamin In the words of Bob Dylan May your hands always be busy May your feet always be swift May you have a strong foundation When the winds of changes shift May your heart always be joyful May your song always be sung1 point

Extremely sad to see such a capable, lovable, and warmhearted friend leaving us. You have given your best and learned so fast and became our Yalla push marshal that was always serving the best coffee and smiles. Somehow I am sure we will still meet somewhere in the sand, and no doubt if I ever see that black FJ I’ll be chasing it to give you a warm hug. Wishing you all the best my friend. Be safe and keep enjoying the beautiful deserts.1 point

Thanks @Ale Vallecchi for this interesting drive plan. I would like to choose 24.31981, 55.45854 (24°19'11.3"N 55°27'30.7"E), area that if I remember correctly, has a nice landscape view and some long and playable dunes.1 point

Understood, thank you Frederic, I think I can also follow E20 up to the Nahil Adnoc right before coming from Lane 1821 between the farms up to the meeting point. I believe this one is closer1 point
-
If you are coming from Abu Dhabi i would assume taking the E11, followed by E14 is better. In that scenario you will have the Al Samha ADNOC on the E11.1 point

Understood. I'll be following... newbie approach sounds reasonable from organizers' perspective. I get it. Let's see if I can sign up for one...1 point

Hi @was003, In order to transfer any offroad experience that you have, please kindly follow the below steps explained on the link below: I believe only after you have done at least 1 newbie drive and you have applied for rank promotion you will be allowed to enter higher ranks drives.1 point

yes sir, this would be my first drive with carnity. Is this newbie drive mandatory for all newly joined regardless of experience?1 point

Guessing it was a shape stone as we were all travelling at a relatively good speed on this track and no one else had a rupture. If I recall, and Jerome can confirm, he said he thought it was the track that was making the noise. By the time I saw the tire and radioed to him there was much damage already like this.1 point

Dear Members @Xavi Moyano@Andrei S@Abhilash Kottakkal@Shahid Mehmood@Haneef Thayyil@Rafey Hashmi@Dan S Thanks for signing up ! I wanted to let you know that i've moved my meeting point just a bit further down at Faqa Truck Road itself, as this weekend there is an Dubai Baja Challenge which will mostlikely mean that many parts of Qudra and Faqa will be fenced off. New meeting point: https://maps.app.goo.gl/591afzyayHPUXmVWA See you all soon !1 point

Please use the attached GPX file or this GaiaGPS link to import the GPS waypoints. This is a set of 10 way points that one could try to complete over a period of 6 hours. This done as part of the preparation for Carnity DCT 2023. This list covers some of the interesting places to visit in Qudra, Murquab, Faqa, Sloar Park and back. Hope you enjoy the drive. Hi Dear @Jona, @Beide Worku, @Tareq Al Turq, @Salim Akhtar allow me to leave here a couple of tips on the selection of your waypoints. Try to spread them around,.as at this point Nagra dune is well covered. Look for other dune formations, group of trees, technical areas, or anything else that tickles your imagination. i will add a waypoint of my own by this Friday, which is the deadline to choose the waypoints. Enjoy!!1 point

Hi @Ale Vallecchi, i'm liking the experience already as its building up the expectation for a splendid drive on Sunday. Much looking forward. I selected a dune near to Imteeaz's; hope we would be able to cruze through it as well 24° 22' 13.03" N, 55° 30' 56.45" E1 point
