  1. Don’t. fight. gravity. Just accept it won’t be possible because of the angle, and act accordingly before it’s too late : steering right, go down and make a new turn. Also don’t crisscross at the wrong place.

  2. Countersteering at high speed and the sand seemed very soft in that area (backside of the dune?)

  3. Seems like that driver wants to avoid that guy in front by going a little right and then entered the slip face and then while steering left and up he fought the gravity on soft patch resulting in a flip. However, the driver reaction after the flip tells another story: Either he is too happy to be alive Or did it on purpose (i doubt) Anyways lesson for bystanders that never come in between the path when someone is doing sideys (side sloping) as you never know what counter-action driver take in a spur of the moment which may result in a hazardous outcome.

  4. It would be worth checking out the clutch too and changing it if it’s worn. Easier and cheaper to do when the engine is already out rather than pay someone to remove the gearbox to do it later on.

  6. Ok so we traced and found a decent Japanese low mileage import 3.0 engine. I came to know that it's available either as engine only (+/- 4000AED) or as a complete unit with transfer case and manual transmission (5500AED). I'll probably opt for the second option as my third gear synchro was already on its way out and i'd like to keep the engine with transmission "married" as one piece. We're still negotiating prices but at least we have some options now. Fingers crossed

  7. A faulty EGR valve can cause overheating. The associated pipework can block up too and also cause overheating. It’s a nasty system and the main purpose is to get cars past emissions regulations. Look at it this way, your engine burns fuel then tries to get rid of the smoke out the exhaust. The EGR then puts some of that smoke back into the engine to try to burn it again. Which means you could be pumping carbon, oil and all other sorts of nasty crap back into your engine again, which can never be a good thing. While not strictly legal, often the best thing to do, especially on Diesel engines, is to blank off all the EGR components, and if it’s a newer car, have it mapped out of the ECU.

  8. +1 at 0:08 sec the front left wheel is already started to lift. Probably too fast for the angle.

  9. Good luck for option 2 (best choice) and hope she gets well soon with all new organs. Is this in half cut you sourced, meaning you had a look at odometer reading or was it out of the car?
