  1. Reminds me of Rav4 near Big Red. I agree with @Gaurav bhai. Recovery should not start at 120 KPH. Should make a path and start slowly and gradually increase the strength of the pull. Thank God nobody got injured in this.
  2. That's true @DiamondDallas, that's why I got the car fully washed again. Thanks for adding to this thread.
  3. Someone told me my naMe is not written on any of those bottles.
  4. I am a male prostitute. Just kidding. I am a Corporate Leisure Supervisor. I am heading the team that looks after Business travel and making sure that all auxiliary services are provided to pur business travellers. These range from hotels, car hire, transfers, car with chauffeur for full or half day rentals, travel insurance, etc. At times handle small groups for meetings and incentives.
  5. Looks like Range Rover lost its patience seeing the shabab here converting their old Range Rovers to trucks, so they decided to make one themselves.
  6. I got all my car audio system done behind Yasmeen Building in Sharjah opposite the Sharjah Cricket stadium. There are many audio shops there. I am sure one of them will be able to diagnose and point you in the right direction.
  7. We should all move with tines. Things change over time, we just have to accept them and move on. Not all changes are bad.
  8. Hi @razeen hasan welcome to Carnity, your one stop shop for all your car needs. Here you can discuss and question anything to do with cars while making new friends. I noticed that you have already joined our off road club, very warm welcome and thank you for introducing yourself. We do not run a class room setup but help you grow within a structured environment where you can learn and apply everything about off roading. We have a newbie trip this Friday, but since you are still waiting for your vehicle keep looking for a Newbie drive once you have you Patrol in hand. Wouldn't recommend bring it brand new to the desert. Complete your first 1000 kms as instructed and get the first service done. Looking forward to seeing you soon.
  9. Thanks for sharing your experience in such great detail @Javier M.
  10. Hi @Danny. Well spotted. I will go with option 2. I sold one of my car to one of the dealers at 150k mileage for 38k. A month later I saw it for sale with 79k mileage at 55k.
  11. My first car in the UAE was a Honda Civic DX 1991 model, fully manual. Had it for 4 years with occasional clutch having to be replaced.
  12. @Srikumar had a few issues with CVT with his Nissan Sentra. Seems like a Nissan CVT thing.
  13. Belated birthday @Javier M. Love your contribution within the community and highly appreciate the patience you have shown also. Keep on rocking buddy.
  14. Thank you @Ren13, @Srikumar, @Frederic, @Javier M, @Mujtaba & @Gaurav for your observations. Everybody is right and deserves a round of applause. The main idea still remains to learn from others mistakes so that we do not repeat the same. Some recoveries require a little more time to think and discuss several ideas on how to proceed with the recovery. The decision should be unanimous and agreed by all after listening carefully to the details. Help and be a part as required by the senior members. Wishing everyone safe off roading.
  15. Well done @Javier M. Very well done and good contributions from you online as well as excellent application and attitude off-roading. Well deserved.
  16. Perfectly managed. Love to see @Emmanuel grow as an off-roader. @Gaurav bhai very well written post, thanks for sharing.
  17. OMG, I had the same problem with my Land Rover Discovery, but used to happen only if I had less than half tank of petrol left. For me it was the fuel pump that was not working very well, AED 350/- and an hour later the car started like a dream and did not stop even when the car was running on fumes.
  18. Great thread @Barry. I started checking all at a very young age. My father used to handle a private cab company in Pakistan and he used to check everything before starting the day, so that became part of my habit checking all levels for him before he started driving. Another habit I have from him is at the time of cold start leaving the car running for 2 - 5 minutes to get all the oils coming upto level before heading out.
  19. Sorry for the last minute drop out everyone. Had 2 emergencies during the weekend I had to attend. Insha Allah will make up for it in the coming weeks.
  20. So it all started on one fine morning. As a normal day started of with unlocking our Pajero and found some water drops on the seat. No rain that day, but still checked for roof leaks and found none. Maybe the leather sweating? But have not seen drops, if something spills it would cover much larger area. So we cleaned the water drops and continued on pur way. The next morning again we were surprised by the same water drops, but this time there were a few over the dash as well. The suspect was the roof again. But verily roof was dry. Still unsuspecting we cleaned the water drops and headed to our office. In the evening when my wife came to pick me up she was looking pale and scared. She explained as she opened the car she saw something white very quickly move from the passenger seat down and disappeared. She suggested we quickly go to a car wash and get the car cleaned out inside and out. Throughout the way we kept really silent and concentrated on any sounds inside the car. It was completely quiet and our hearts were racing throughout, even a breeze or our own movement would scare the he'll out of us. The strangest hour ever spent in a car in my whole life. There was a strange feeling of something or someone being in our car with us. I kept on thinking we would need an exorsist for our car instead of just a good wash. Finally we made it to the car wash and started emptying the car to have a good vacuum inside. As we were removing the items from our car we saw what once again proved the wife is always right. We needed a good wash and no exorcism was required. A grey mouse jumping in and around our car. What a relief. Tried chasing it out, but not quite sure if that little rodent was still there or gone. As the car was finished and we headed home, we decided to make sure and got some rat glue with mat. My wife could not take the suspense and headed back down to the car just before going to sleep. No surprise there it was the trouble maker, stuck in one of the mats we had placed. She took help of one of the supermarket guys and released the little rodent back in the open. With a few mats still in the car just to make sure, in 2 more days we were relieved and now pondering how he got in. Two days it was in there without making a noise. We recalled going to the tire shop to get a tire checked which kept looking the pressure. We had switched off the car, and since the car was getting suffocating, she opened the rear door for ventilation. The tire just had a bad valve which was replaced, easy and cheap fix, but it must have given the mouse to get into the car in those 15 minutes. My advise, please do not leave your cars open and unattended open the window a crack if required. Thinking of getting all the wirings and electrics checked as mice like to chew on stuff. Please recommend any other advise you deem right in such a situation, or simply share your strange stories here.
  21. I tried it when it was initially launched and found it useless for our purpose. Just records your track but error used to occur in the middle of recording tracks and was never successful with it.
